I think the producers were just shocked that someone fell off the wall in the first place. They probably didn't plan anything of the like happening. It doesn't really matter though. He timed out on the next obstacle. |

They do not DQ people for unexpected accidental course outs such as that one. Nagano was offered a rerun in 18 since no one expected someone to accidently grab the top, he declined it because he said he would have failed anyway if the top was not exposed.
