Rip Torn, 88.He did a lot of acting before his...extracurricular activities stunted his career, but he'd probably be most recognizable as Zed, the head of MIB, in "Men in Black". Also, possibly, as Zeus in Disney's version of "Hercules".

Richard Williams passed away on Friday night - he was an incredible 2D animator, animation director on Who Framed Rodger Rabbit, writer of the Animator's Survival Kit (which is the absolute final word on 2D animation principles) and director of the technically unsurpassed white elephant of animation which was The Thief and The Cobbler:
It was the strangest thing, until I saw the news it never really occurred to me that he would actually, die. It seemed he would just keep animating forever - he was still working on his most recent project until the end and that was after a career that spanned over 50 years and hundreds upon hundreds of commercials, never mind shorts and films.
He approached those hundreds of jobs with a frankly unsurpassed level of craftsmanship and technical ability and while it should be our ambition, I don't know that we'll ever quite see his like in a single animator again.

Man...that hit me in the feels. Love WFRR. Sadly, I have another one to add. Peter Fonda, 79, lung cancer. He was an actor, with his most recognizable work being the co-writer and co-star of "Easy Rider", along with Dennis Hopper.

Aw, man. I was not expecting to see this headline. As a long-time Rush fan, this hurts. Neil Peart, 67, brain cancer. He was the drummer and main lyricist for the band Rush.

Christopher Tolkien, Age 95Son of the legendary J.R.R. Tolkien, author of The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit, Christopher spent his life completing the incomplete works of his father and publishing them for the world to see. He drew maps of Middle Earth and edited and wrote parts of the books published after his father's death in his honor. He was also the last member of the Inklings, a writing group made of scholarly authors such as both Tolkiens and C.S. Lewis, author of The Chronicles of Narnia. Now they're all gone
