In K6, only a certain amount of people were allowed to complete it and pass instead of all who cleared made it to Stage Three.
Only the top 6 times I believe went on to Stage Three. This resulted in two people clearing Stage Two in the time limit but not allowed to advance.
Why did the producers make this un-Sasuke and un-Kunoichi rule?

Same justification for Kunoichi 8 two tournaments later: likely wanted to try something new and see if it stuck well. Something tells me they expected A LOT of people to get to the Second Stage regardless of any change they made and either didn't want to risk a lot of people in stage 3 (for whatever reason) or were expecting the Second Stage to be a killer somewhat.

Kunoichi had a ton of stupid rules throughout its run with K6's competition second stage the worst.
The timed third stages in 3 and 4 were bad.
The 2-part second stage in K2 was awkward as well.
Changing the Final Stage without a victory was also very puzzling. I have LOVED to have seen Miyake attempt the big beam.

The beam started straight but then curved. I don't think any of the two finalists made it to the rounded section. Perhaps it was too hard?

Considering how slippery the beam was due to the sudden change in weather, that's too risky of a variable. The tower isn't 100% protective against the weather (Sasuke 8 anyone?), but it's way easier to keep from being as soaked as the beam. Also, I don't think the beam was curved, there was a round section, but the beam itself was made to wobble as well to add some difficulty. So that's why it seemed "curvy". I also never saw a problem with those timing aspects either. A timed Stage 3 was unique, they wanted to see how well did you stack up with using intricate steps but quickly. The two part Second Stage probably was because they didn't know just how quickly the beam at the end could be done, so to make it difficult, just add it to Stage 3. Plus, it's not like it was that effective anyway, no one timed out and if you rushed too much and fell, that was your fault.
