Oh man the new cliff hanger is brutal Nagano and Yuuji going out earlier was all hope lost to me.
The reveal was awesome and the 3rd stage feels impossible again!
Stage 1 needs toughening a little but 2 and 3 are fine - maybe one change to 2.

I don't think Stage 1 needs a toughening imo. I think it's fairly balanced out actually.

I loved it. It had suspense and it had wtf moments. Finalists did a great job getting there and the unveiling and their wtf faces were priceless LOL Right now most of my thoughts are one continuous blur right now so I'll collect myself at one point and do the blog and do it there.
Overall I loved it.

It was an ok tournament. Except the fact that Nagano failed the first stage again!!

I am still shocked that anyone, let alone two of the top competitors, failed on the balance tank. And I think I woke up people in Scotland from my reaction to Brian Orosco making it to stage 3 and finally beating Levi Meeuwenburg. Who seems to have gotten over his showboating phase.

Urushihara's fall off the Salmon Ladder was one of the oddest and most unexpected wipeouts ever.
They might have to make the Cliff Hanger easier.

Oh, and also, I called it. All 5 of the finalists beat the first stage.

The 1st stage was Good, if disappointing that there were so many rehashed obstacles. Hoping for some new brutal obstacles in the Fall. 2nd Stage is still perfect. Don't touch it for awhile. 3rd Stage: Impossible... Floating boards sap enough energy to make the ultimate cliffhanger impossible. After that, there's still jumping rings, ascending Tarzan Ropes and Jumping Bars with a movable Bar. F'ing Insane. No one's gonna clear for awhile. Overall, sheer madness! But I hope they add some new obstacles in the 1st stage.

This was a great competition. But there were a lot of shockers, like Nagano's stage 1 fail, Levi's immediate fail in stage 2, Yuuji's fail on the salmon ladder, and ESPECIALLY the 2 fails on the balance tank.
I think this version of shin-sasuke will be around a lot longer than the run that 18-24 had.

I Didn't like the circle slider, if you're small you're screwed. Balance tank is just annoying cos it's easy but they forget it's easy to fail as well.
Cliffhanger is insane but it is possible. There was a test person at the end who got past the part where everyone failed so we know it's possible.

I like the Circle Slider.. it's all technique.. people with almost no practice on Springboards are going to approach it thinking it's the trampoline and go WHIFF.. though I do admit.. the circle seems a wee bit higher this time..

Yeah Uruishihara's fail was insane. He rushed.

Just out of curiosity, who was the UNCLI who failed the Circle Slider near the beginning? I think the announcer said Matachi Ryo, but I'm not positive.

Recycling of the obstacles might have been a downside for some people, but it worked out fairly well. It took out the people that it needed to, along with some extras, just like old SASUKE days (unlike recent ones where they took out almost everyone due to ridiculous reasons). Unexpected shockers included in this, which was pretty nice too.
While I was watching this, I didn't have the feeling that I had during Shin-SASUKE. I mean, Shin-SASUKE, to me, was just to master the obstacle and see if you can do it or not. And I'm pretty sure people were prepared for many stage 1 obstacles because they were revivals. But, there's just something there that makes this tournament more exciting. I just can't describe it, but it had more suspense to it compared to 18~24 era.

you're right arsenette but there's no way in hell any technique would help someone the size of akiyama.

you're right arsenette but there's no way in hell any technique would help someone the size of akiyama. Once the analysis is complete I'm wondering if the circle was a bit higher.. because Nagano barely made it in 17 and they are about the same height.
