I agree with you. It was challenging enough to throw off even top competitors, but it wasn't overly brutal, either.

I said Good, but was hoping for something more brutal. I think they wanted to make sure that people made the 3rd stage to show off the new cliffhanger.
That said, I was disappointed that there was only one new obstacle in the 1st stage. The rest were just rehashed from past tournaments.

I'd say good, cause it was a mixture of going retro but keeping things very hard at the same time.

I said "Great".
It's a mesh of All-Star era and New-Star era Sasuke 1st Stage obstacles, and they all have something in common: a focus on leg strength.
Obstacles 1,3,4,6, and 7 all involve jumping. Obstacles 2 and 5 involve gripping a log with your legs. Obstacle 9 is climbing with your legs. Add in the winding pathways from obstacle to obstacle and height changes of pathways and 130m length of the stage, and you're looking at more cardio than David Campbell was surprised about a few tournaments back.

I agree, the stages are a lot more well rounded now.

I said Okay.
Alot of these obstacles are going to be easy to beat next time around. I think Yamada and Naoki Iketani are wishing they were there for this 1st stage.

Thank you, Captain Obvious.
I'm not being cute, I just think you summed it up perfectly.

OK. Didn't dislike it at all, it did its job perfectly, but outside the general feeling of not knowing what's going to happen, I didn't think it was that exciting. If it was slightly more difficult and only had one log obstacle, I'd love it.

Voted: OK.
First stage was quite dull, to be honest. It was perfect and nicely entertaining in Sasuke 24.

I liked it.
But I want new obstacles. At least 2.
And they don't need to be impossible.
It just needs a little more veriety. How about a balance obstacle.

OK
good: simplicity, jump hang, well-rounded
bad: too easy, no spider jump, less room for error/more predictability
I'm a fan of obstacles like the halfpipe attack, spider jump, even the flying chute

It was just OK in my opinion. First stage didn't seem to have alot of excitement compared to past tournaments. I also don't like having two log obstacles in the same stage at all. I was expecting the Bridge Rope obstacle to do alot more damage too. However, I really like the concept of it.

Good IMO. Although it was nice to see many obstacles from the past back (including the Circle Slider ;D ) and see that the course was still a challenge, it definitely lacked originality (seriously, one new obstacle?) and became a little repetitive/boring.

I really don't like it.
The First stage was always been the most exciting to me and it's not the same. Only one new obstacle that only eliminated three people. I think the Jump Hang and the Bridge Jump should change spots. I dont want any Steps obstacle or Rolling Log. Log Grip should either be moved back a few positions or removed completely.
I really wanted some new obstacles and most of the first stage was recycled. I give it a 4 only for the Circle Slider and Warped Wall.

Oh wait you're the guy who.... nvm I don't want to go further into the subject
Dome Steps: Slightly more challenging than Juyodantobi(sp?), + Rolling Log: Took out unnecessary people here. + Jump Hang: If Rolling Log did not do its job, Jump Hang did. + Bridge Jump: Easier than expected, yet it kept the competitors slightly frightened. Neutral Log Grip: Slightly Harder, but many competitors were taken out before. Maybe they are tired from Jump Hang? Neutral Soritatsukabe: +, no discussion here Circle Slider: Harder, Higher, more failures. Passable, but not easily done. + Ending: Same old ending, but I think it's still good enough. Neutral.

Sorry for being so off topic but.. It's Junidantobi. Ju = 10 Ni = 2 Dantobi = Step Jump (I have no clue if that's accurate or if that's in the right place, I'm pretty sure Dan is Level (or step) because of things like Sandan Rolling Maruta and the announcers when anyone is on the Salmon Ladder (Single or Double) but I have no clue of Tobi means Jump)

I said OK, wasn't really new because they brought back old obstacles so I was a bit disappointed but it took out a fair number of people, including an all star so it doesn't seem all that bad.

Think of it this way.
With Sasuke 18, they added really nothing besides the Shin Cliff Hanger and Gliding Ring. The Arm Bike was recycled, the Spider Flip was ripped from Viking. Everything else was pretty much the same. This time around, they reversed the obstacle changes, so the focus was on the 3rd stage.
I'd rather this.
Hopefully in 26, they will do what they did in 19. Renew the 3rd stage (Cept it will be the first)
