As soon as a member reaches 50 posts they can pm a moderator about it?
I dunno.

Yeah, but then you will see a lot of new people spamming 50 posts just so they would get access. Of course we have a spam board, so maybe it wouldn't be too bad. But still..

Spam board isn't supposed to increase your post count, even though it may unintentionally. And bada, good suggestion, however, that would require people to actually write the message to me or the mod, which most are either too shy or too lazy to do. I'm definitely open to suggestions on this as I admit it is an weak system at best.

Maybe it can be somewhere in the user agreement description in large/bold letters at the top so they actually notice it? I have no idea---just throwing that out there.

Plus it can't be changed. It's a proboards thing.

Which is why I recommended that it be put in [shadow=blue,right,300][glow=yellow,2,300] LARGE, BOLD LETTERS.[/glow][/shadow] But yeah, that probably still wouldn't work to be honest.

Make it change colors really fast so it flashes. That will at least bring attention.

I probably wouldn't either, simply because I know all the threads are spoilers, so why look at them, I would immediately click new thread. I think all the places people are suggesting to put warnings are dumb. NO ONE reads any of the places you guys are suggesting. The ONLY PLACE where this would be effective, is where it should be, on the forum description itself. It makes sense to put it there >_>

Adding more where people don't read the descriptions as it is won't solve anything. Fact of the matter is that people who feel overwhelmed with a lot of new information will just stop to make a thread and wait from there. Cluttering up existing places won't solve anything.

Did they, at one time, have "PM a mod below if you would like to see this tournament" on this website? Sasuke 23 and 24 will air in 2 weeks. I don't think people are going to whine about having an extra line of description on one board. I don't see why its not worth a try, its the most obvious place it could be. I would never scan each thread inside the forum itself for fear of being spoiled, and every one just puts in there information, they never read any of the crap on the sign up page.

This board has existed for a year and a half. Every possible way of trying NOT to spoil people who are devoted to G4 has been done. And YES it has been written everywhere.. even some stickied posts WITH the information on the thread title.. people will not read it. We are used to reading all of this stuff.. Imagine a new person walking into our community with several thousand threads. The overwhelming thing alone would stop them. Putting them in description.. people don't read that as evidenced by people posting threads "when is 25?" when it was CLEARLY posted on the subject of the Sasuke 25 board. People are lazy and don't want to read what we bother writing. Even now. there is a thread there saying what to do and we still get questions (and I'm not even a mod! LOL).

I don't see what the problem is here, honestly. If you didn't see 24 for example, enter 24's forum at your own risk. You should stop catering to the idiots who go into a forum focused on a competition they haven't seen and then complain about getting things spoiled for them. When someone complains, say, "Tough luck, you knew what the forum was about" and go on with business as usual. If it worked like this, all we'd have to worry about is keeping the conversations in the appropriate areas, which is not a problem anyway. I also don't understand why we're so concerned about G4 fans coming here and seeing spoilers. And I'm not hating on them. It's just that this is supposed to be a forum about Sasuke. Therefore, we should focus on Sasuke and only Sasuke. Not Ninja Warrior. This way, all competitions will be moved to the appropriate past categories after we all watch them "live". It's cleaner and simpler. As for the downloads themselves, I'd probably do something like a massive announcement topic with all the download links available. This would be in every forum, so no matter where you go, you can reach it quickly and easily. After doing that, I'd clean up the rules a little bit (because they're kinda sloppy looking right now) and add two new ones: - Spoilers - Read everything at your own risk. - Downloads - They're clearly labeled at the top of every forum, under the rules. Also, an FAQ or About Us thing could be useful. It would explain what Sasuke is, how it's different from Ninja Warrior, that this forum is primarily about Sasuke, how to download/watch the videos here, etc.. So many ideas.

It would explain what Sasuke is, how it's different from Ninja Warrior, that this forum is primarily about Sasuke, how to download/watch the videos here, etc.. So many ideas. I really like a lot of the ideas you suggested. The FAQ/About us definitely should be implemented asap. I also agree with the spoilers. Personally, I always thought it was ridiculous for people to complain about being spoiled when they knew what they were getting into. The problem we had before was that people would find out information in one thread and then post those spoilers without warning in other threads, which much of the time had little to do with the actual topic. There, I think the spoiler tags would be fine. I think for the most part, this has been getting better. I do agree though that they should be added to the forum rules and all of the rules should be reviewed/revised. For the G4 fans part, we've done it this way because Plus, we were all just Ninja Warrior fans at one point or another, so I figure this would be best. Maybe not the neatest sure, but I've always liked it. Also, I usually like to keep it on the front page so that more discussion happens. The G4 rule usually set a good time frame, since it was only 3 months after the TBS one. I found that once boards were moved from the main page, the discussion goes to a crawl. So maybe instead of the G4 rule have a rule for moving the board after X number of months after the TBS broadcast date. Finally, for the downloads, I would never want to openly broadcast that we have links or know where to download tournaments for fear that G4 or whoever will take them down. That's what happened with theguy. People said, "G4 doesn't care, here's the links to SASUKE whatever" and the very next day it was taken down. I do not want that to happen again. That part is more of something that is shared behind closed doors as a reward for registering (which I know isn't distributed properly to new members). I'll check proboards support to see if there is an automatic way. Having a mass announcement would let everyone see it, regardless if they registered see it. This way has a (admittably thin) security shield, which has worked for 2+ years. Those are my thoughts on it. Please, keep the suggestions coming, I'd really appreciate more feedback on well, anything really.

Oti, I never thought I'd say this, but...I agree with you. I like the FAQ idea and the spoiler idea. The dl idea...don't really like that because it defeats the purpose. The G4 part I think it should be when the next show airs or when 6 months pass, whichever comes first. Just my one cent

I realize a majority of us here (including myself) have G4 to thank for showing us Ninja Warrior and thus Sasuke, but I don't think focusing mainly on Sasuke is showing any disrespect for G4/Ninja Warrior. As helpful as they are (especially when it comes to getting new fans/trainees/members since they reach a much larger audience), this forum isn't about them. It's about the real stuff that actually happened, not the make-believe stuff G4 wants everyone to believe. In that sense, I feel whether or not G4 has aired the competition should be irrelevant to this forum, especially if you're suggesting we move them after so long anyway. At least my way, if a G4 fan comes here and gets spoiled, we can remind them that they were the ones snooping around in the Sasuke X forum while G4 is still yet to air Sasuke X-3. I honestly have no argument when it comes to the above point, though. That's just how I feel about it. I dunno. Just some rambling. The system that's in place right now isn't safe in that aspect either. It seems to work on the assumption (hope?) that the copyright holders will never register here and find the downloads. That's terrible safety-wise. If you want to keep this "all it takes is a registration!" thing, why not do this: - Make a new category called "Downloads" and give it these settings: ----- Hide category: No ----- Limit access: Members - Make a new board in the "Downloads" category called "Sasuke" and give it these settings: ----- View board: Registered Members ----- Hide board: No Save all that and go to the homepage. They should be there. Now log out. They should disappear completely. Assuming it works, all the Sasuke topics would be moved there from the current place. Then, more boards could be made in the "Downloads" category, such as "Ninja Warrior", "Unbeatable Bansuke", etc.. These boards would also have their topics "imported" from the current place. After all is said and done, the PM system and current hidden board can be forgotten. Thanks sweetie. What is the purpose exactly? To only give it out to everyone when a lot of new members ask for it? That was my point: giving it out in a global PM to members is practically just as dangerous as leaving it out in the open. I'm a regular member here and I didn't even know we had one. As for my FAQ idea, it wasn't about specific things, like how to watch Sasuke X. My FAQ was directed at what Sasuke is, how we watch it (our methods, nothing specific), how it differs from Ninja Warrior, etc.. It would also describe this site, the people who founded it and how things work (spoilers, rules, etc.). It sounds like a mess waiting to happen but I firmly believe if we could hammer everything out, it would be a nice and simple (not to mention smooth) addition to the site.
