People did not know where to find the recording of Sasuke 24, so they went into the forum only to be spoiled.
Why not add, to the forum description of Sasuke 25, "If you would like to see Sasuke 25, please PM a mod."
I know there seems to be enough knowledge to know that clicking the Sasuke 25 thread will result to spoilers, obviously it isn't enough seeing the amount of people spoiled by 24.

What do you think my big watching 25 FAQ guide was for?

It didn't seem to work for 24 forum though. I don't really care, I just thought it might be better.

It didn't seem to work for 24 forum though. I don't really care, I just thought it might be better. I think it's kinda difficult only because even WITH faq's and the sign up agreement.. hardly anyone reads anything.. then complain they got spoiled.. my notion always remains.. wtf are people looking in the 23-25 folders if they are filled with spoilers then *gasp* freak out about spoilers? Besides.. we don't openly talk about where to find this stuff anyway and there are more than a few threads on it as it was. Some even had to be deleted even AFTER they were told (in a couple threads) to PM a mod..

Perhaps we should have a "spoiler free" sub board, and a "spoiler" sub board?
Actually, I have a better idea.
The primary sasuke 25 (or, whatever currently tournament) board should contain only administrivia topics. Topics for known dates/times, places to watch, and perhaps all the silly topics can go in there too ("what will you be eating", "what color will the sky be", etc.).
Then, a spoilerriffic sub-board. For... well, spoilers, obstacle discussion, competitor discussion, etc. How's that sound?
Maybe when the archived tournament shuffle takes place, both the boards get combined into one, for archival simplicities sake?

It's fine the way it is.. catering to people who never care to read stuff and then b**** about it is kinda irrelevant at this point. The date is right on the top counting down. It's on the description, there's faqs before you even read half the stuff that's under the stickies and quite frankly even with Jason's idea there is nothing stopping a newb to go on the spoil board and go "when is Sasuke 25 again?" yeah.. Kids are just too lazy to read the numerous allowances already made to them.
Besides.. the biggest thing is that the only reason people worry about Spoilers is because G4 has dropped the ball and is now 3 tourneys behind.. Quite frankly I'm tired of making concessions for those who refuse to watch anything but the G4 version and then complain that they were spoiled. Enough already.

Spoiler rules are in place to allow people to watch for the first time without knowing the results, whenever and however they choose to watch.

I think the most effective place that the word "Spoliers" should go is under the Sasuke 25 description, not in the Faq's or anywhere else. I don't even know where the Faq is >_>
And people think that by clicking "Sasuke 25" there going to see it for themselves, while trying to find it, they get spoiled.
That's who gets spoiled, not the G4 people who only want to watch the G4 version, the people wanting to watch Sasuke 25, with no direction where to go.
Thats why I'm saying, put under the description for Sasuke 25, "PM a mod to see Sasuke 25."

.. that's what I meant.. we have 3 locked forums.. I think more what he meant was the people who can't watch it live but want to watch it later that week. But I agree we've done all we can for the people who just flat out dont want to follow instructions

Honestly, I think we should do away with the spoiler crap altogether. If you don't want 25 for be ruined for you, for example, stay the hell out of the Sasuke 25 board. It's that simple.

I completely agree, it's not that hard to figure it out. If you really don't want to get spoiled with results and so forth. Then stay the hell out of the locked forums.
Edit: I watched Sasuke 24 a month after it came out, and I was not even spoiled one bit. Plus, don't they get an e-mail about where to see the "special" forum?

Yeah, it only goes out when one of the staff people decides to send it out.
The hidden forum is another I don't really get. I realize it needs to be "hidden", but sending a PM to every member every so often defeats the purpose.

I'm not sure. I don't really have a better idea, I just don't like how flawed the current method is. Like I said, I realize it needs to be hidden, so it is. But then when a lot of new people come, they all get informed about it. If the goal is to hide the downloads from G4 or something, that could easily be blown if a G4 employee joins this forum (perhaps to stop the spread of NW torrents). The whole secret thing worked well back in the day when this forum was only 10 or so regulars and only they knew where the downloads were. Now, though, it just seems like a pointless run around. I'll brainstorm a bit for you and see if I can come up with anything. I'm actually used to working with limited resources. I run several sites, all hosted by practically featureless hosts. Gotta be creative.
