Lee received a news interview in Taiwan and revealed that he will be invited to Japan somewhat around Feb 20.
You can watch the news here:

Feburary 20th seems about right if they're going for a March airing of Sasuke 25. which mean ANW2 must be for Sasuke 26 (assuming that G4 has some kind of inside info it exists..).
Can anyone translate?

My thoughts exactly Rider. The longer ANW is not announced the more inclined I am to believe they might just do what they planned for 24 and save 26 for ANW2 with full sponsors as they were hoping.
For Lee I'm THRILLED since it's basically clear he's at least got a sponsor to get him back to 25. With State TV picking up the show now it's possible they are helping Lee or even TBS is by this point since they ponyed up the cash for him in 24.

Think about it.. if ANW2 was supposed to be for 25.. it would either be this weekend or next weekend and we would have already heard news besides the licence was renewed..

We can save that for the other thread but I do agree with that notion. Especially IF Sasuke is taping early/mid March. Which is less than 4 weeks away..

David K. just did a quick translation and most of it was fluff but the definite was Lee's going back to Japan for a taping of some sort on February 20th (that's a Saturday). David will double check tomorrow when his internet is better to see if there is additional information he missed. In the meantime we can check Lee's blog on the subject: tw.myblog.yahoo.com/n428/article?mid=3416&prev=46&next=3345

Well they did that in 2005.. where they had 3 that year so this is actually on par with that set up. My guess is that they knew someone was gong to win so they just kept throwing a tournament in hoping that happened but they were already set to break out the new course. IMO of course.

Seems like after 22 and 23 they knew the course was going to get beaten soon, Planned out a new course fixing the problems of Shin Sasuke. Then for 24 set up the pins to be knocked down, just having it as a new years celebration was an added bonus

100% agreed. Usually TBS does fluff pieces set up for the course approx. 1-2 weeks before taping to keep it fresh in their minds before the event so it's still looking like an early March'ish taping even with a floating date. My guess is that the airdate will be mid to late march again as it was the past 2 years. Given that the last couple "spring" sasuke's have been in March it's conceivable that they are liking the set up that way. Not sure if TBS will be affected by anything due to the schedule being preempted by the Olympics but I do believe Ube told me that it doesn't exactly work the same in Japan as it does here. In which case it's leaning towards a repeat of 20 and 22 with a late March airdate.

It's been said, but this is awesome news.
Lee is one of my favorites, and it's good that he was able to get out of the JET TV ordeal unscaved.
On another note, I can't help but laugh at Lee hamming up for the cameras.

Tehehehehe he has a bunch of clips from previous stuff. He's hilarious at what he does when put in these crazy shows he gets interviewed from. He had a great sense of humor and understands "TV" so to speak and manages wherever and however it is that they want to see. Considering that to my knowledge this is just regular TV (and most regular TV people don't necessarily watch niche shows like Sasuke) they probably have a narrow view as to what it is he does and just ran with the story because someone told him to do the interview. I for one am happy he makes himself available like that and is personable so anyone can watch him and become a fan.
I hope he writes more in detail what it is that's going on the 20th. Could it be tied to a Muscle park event? or something else entirely. Now I'm reaaally curious.. I wonder if they plan to do a special trials like they did for Sasuke 11 (since that's fresh on my mind after Ryo's videos) or if it's just something they are doing to promote their finalists. I'm uber excited now!

Good morning, all. After rewatching the video (especially the end) another time, they say that "On February 20, he is going to Japan again to accept the television station's challenge/invitation, and hopes to do even better this time in order to gain honor for his country."
...seems to me like that's Sasuke taping, with the talk of "doing better this time". I can't be 100% certain, though.

I bet they had everything planned. Since they were expecting a winner soon, probably planned for 24, they already must've had either an entire or most of the new course already planned out.

Thanks David for the translation! I'm still thinking it's a fluff piece and no Sasuke though it could be. Seems too early for some reason.. if so I haven't heard jack about Sasuke Trials yet (though they could not have one again this time..) everything else seems too quiet for now. Hopefully Lee will log on and write what the 20th is about. They are taping something but I'm leaning more towards fluffpiece.

All I know is that it says he will return to Japan soon and, get this, it costs $30 million (I assume NT dollars) to get ONE episode. If my wife heard right, that's about 1 million USD! Yikes!
