I can just hear Sato Hiromichi and Lee Enchi's groans if that were to happen

No one except me has mentioned the Metal Spin. This surprises me especially since it has taken out a huge chunk of competitors in nearly every competition since its inception. Not really. 24 was the first since 17 where it took out more than one person.

Not really. 24 was the first since 17 where it took out more than one person. That stat is slightly deceptive since only 4 people attempted it between 18 and 20. But I agree, it doesn't seem to take out that high a % like it did in 15-17

I believe 2 obstacles will stay. I think they will be the wall lifting and something else maybe the spider flip or salmon ladder.
And why are some people saying the jumping bars will stay. I'm personally suprised they have even this long. It's only ever taken out two people and no one since 15.

Hmm...I'd say Jumping Spider, Warped Wall, Salmon Ladder, Wall Lift, and some form of the Cliffhanger.

Hell, if you really wanted to go nuts, you could have Salmon Ladder -> Stick Slider -> Unstable Bridge. But that almost sounds too hard. Not really.. Just think the Slider Jump with a board and not a net.. I can actually see the unstable bridge staying even though it eliminated only 4 people out of how many? Just by the logic Yuuji failed it in 23, Pretty much the same logic as the Metal Spin staying since Nagano failed it in (I think) 15. Although I think they might put it in Stage 1 actually... Late into the stage, If they do put it in stage 1 I expect them to do something stupid like making it two boards like the first (like seen in the prototype seen in the 23 navi)

I honestly don't think the jumping spider will stay. We will see some form of the spider walk (Maybe with 90 Degree turn!?). Also wall lifting, the warped wall and cliffhanger will stay. Possibly the Metal spin, rope climb (final stage one obstacle in 18-24), dodectuple step, and salmon ladder. Other than that I think there will be all new obstacles.

Some obstacles will likley stay, but it's hard to say. The Cliffhanger will likely be modified and have 4-5 ledges - some small ones maybe. Tough call here...

Just think the Slider Jump with a board and not a net.. I would think the Slider Jump with a board would be a good deal harder than one with a net at the end. Then not to mention having to actually complete the Unstable Bridge after that. Or am I just overestimating the difficulty of these obstacles?

I said 5+. What's gonna stay IMO: 1. Warped Wall 2. Salmon Ladder 3. Unstable Bridge 4. Metal Spin 5. Wall Lifting 6. Cliff Hanger (new version, a.k.a. 5.0) 7. Jumping Bars 8. some kind of rope obstacle in the Final Stage Yeah, as bigblind said, it is a not-so-perfect renewal---especially Stage 2.

I don't know if Slider Jump/Stick Slider with a board would be safe. Imagine not being able to grab it and slamming your face/head on the board....painful. You might lose an eye if you hit the corner. Plus, one thing is jumping to the board like in 23, one thing is grabbing it with so much momentum: they would have to add some sort of padding on the ledges, or you might cut your hands But yeah, I see the Unstable Bridge becoming a stage 1 obstacle. I also think the Jumping Spider, Salmon Ladder, Cliff Hanger (new version) and Warped Wall will stay; not sure about the HPA and the Slider Jump

I'm going for less than or equal to 2, as the 25 announcement today did say that "all areas" were going to be faced with renewal. Not taking it literally though.

I don't know about you guys but I'm curious to see what they come up with. I'm sure there will be duds as well as ZOMG THAT'S AWESOME. I suspect some of the old stuff will be there with some variation.. maybe even changing stages. I doubt a cliffhanger will be in Stage 1 but I hope you know what I meant by that. I'm sure the blogs will be uber guarded though. I don't suspect we will have any leaks on how it's built this time.

The first stage Bridge Committee needs to get its a** in gear. We need a Sasuke 1-6 style bridge but MUCH harder.

Of course Hey do you remember in the Navi broadcast for 23 where they showed the other stuff they were testing but ultimately took out of the 1st stage? (like that walking on swings thing for the 2nd obstacle)... With every course addition you don't know how it's going to be received. I'm still excited that the show is continuing.. PERIOD!

I'd like to see them use that if they could make sure you don't grab the cables (like was done to the similar obstacle in K8)

It would be impossible to force people not to hang on to the cables.. they'd have a lot of unnecessary disqualifications.. it's just natural to grab on to something while falling. In K8 they forced you to grab on to the cables so not entirely sure what you are referring to. Unless you are referring to another obstacle?

That kinda looks like a Double Dare obstacle. It's not bad though. I mean, it's better than the X-Bridge.

I mean make it so if they go with the obstacle pictured it doesn't end up like the one on Kunoichi where you're just slowly going across grabbing cables
