it will take too long for me to explain my theory here ( i am lazy ) but someone needs to remind him that the past 3 winners all have a regular life outside Sasuke. Big Hint I don't call Yuuji's life outside Sasuke any more or less normal than Kanno's. They both have a job (Yuuji - Being Al Bundy, Kanno - Janitor, with a side of BANG BANG!), they both exist in UNCLI, they both visit Muscle Park I'm sure more than a lot of other people, and they both train train train train. (Did you SEE their "park" in the Navi?)

It's been interesting watching this debate go on...my personal take on it is that as much as Takeda psyched himself out and totally started dying under pressure, his upper body stamina was still lacking. If he'd failed a technique-based obstacle like the SCH, then I would have put the blame entirely on the pressure, but climbing the Spider Flip is almost entirely strength, so I'm not sure it has very much to do with it. Perhaps his nerves sapped his strength, I dunno, I don't have enough experience about this kind of thing.
EDIT: As for Kanno and Yuuji's jobs, Kanno's is part-time ("arubaito" in Japanese), where Yuuji's had his shoe salesman job (wasn't he also recently promoted?) for a while, I'm assuming. Kanno's even said that until he achieves kanzenseiha, he won't get a full-time job...which just REEKS of Yamada for me.

(Did you SEE their "park" in the Navi?) Actually.. hate to correct ya but gotta do it.. a) Yuuji yeah has been promoted (i.e. like Shingo) and has a full-time job salaried b) Kanno is not a part of UNCLI.. never has been never will be. He started later in the game when Yuuji and co. have been at it. (though in all actuality we don't know how long Kanno has been trying to get on the show. He was an unknown until Sasuke 20) c) Kanno was only sent to Muscle Park while Yuuji and the rest of UNCLI practically lived there. d) is correct The fact that TBS records them together is strictly because it's TBS.. sorta like Yamada training Nagano in the past.. it's all made for the TV. Lately though because of their STQ history they have been spending more time together but it's not like it always has been like this. Kanno until very recently was a full time student in a very prestigious university training by himself.

When Nagano came on the scene TBS tried to invent that Nagano was there as his protoge.. they inserted pictures in Nagano's cabin (digitally) and made it look as if Yamada was training the young stallion and Nagano was benefiting from such training.. it soon became apparent that Nagano was a much better competitor and with Nagano's criticism of what was done.. they soon dropped that "Yamada protoge" thing. Only if you see the TBS version will you see the set up to that. I think the G4 version had hints of it but not as much as the original broadcast.

Really? Kanno isn't actually part of everything Yuuji is?
That's ... wacky. TBS threw a great swerve on me I guess.
So, the only commonality before was Yuuji and Kanno came in via STQs?

Yep they were STQ'ers.. that's it The STQ community all know each other since they toil every tournament trying to get on so they have their own comraderie unlike the ones that get straight invites. But for the most part Kanno was a gymnast going to this swanky university and that's about it.

Arsenette, first of all i will like to apologise for the question i am about to ask. I hope i do not come across as rude or disrespectful. Question is how do you know all this? Based on JET's shows, i only got the impression that Nagano said he idolises Yamada but never said he trained under Yamada. IF what you said above is true, then TBS is COERCING Nagano to say things against his will. I know TBS likes to hype things up but still this is a bit too much for me! Maybe I am naive but still...

Yeah, I remember seeing pictures of Yamada and then saying Yamada invited his friend to the show (nagano).

He's been interviewed many times and was part of a beautiful project called "Power of Sasuke" that a friend of mine wrote over the course of Sasuke 18-19. Through her experience doing this project she relayed what the conversations were like to the fans of the time back in 2007. Most of the information has survived and fans from that time period share the stories she told everyone. Nagano's also gone on record as saying that not everything TBS has shown was correct (in terms of Yamada's connection with him) but he didn't mind being associated with him and still does to this day. Nagano credits Yamada as one of the very first people who ever walked up and welcomed him into Sasuke back when he was a nobody, cut from the show in Sasuke 7 (whoops edit.. was sasuke 7 not 8). Nagano is an uber loyal person so outside of ax murdering his family.. Nagano will always be Yamada's friend. He didn't however like how TBS skewed basic things so that was corrected shortly after the "he's my idol" routine. Nagano was not introduced to Sasuke by Yamada.. he met him when he arrived and didn't really start spending a lot of time with him until after they were named All-Stars.

I never said you were wrong, just that I remember the Yamada and Nagano angle.

Arsenette, a super big THANKS for clarifying the doubts. I believe your words on this. I thought TBS always likes to "stage" things but this is a bit extreme. Don't think i can ever trust TBS words again...repeat old joke...all T...BS. ;D Nagano is such an incredible nice guy! I would have given T...BS HELL if they ever try that on me. BS gives me ANGER! Grr... i suppose the part about Okuyama changing jobs for sasuke is probably BS too!

Dunno much about him other than where he works now. I think the only thing they actually exagerated was the "zomg Sasuke is my Olympics" thing but everything else might be correct.. dunno.

Wow you really do learn something new everyday! That would've been so cool if they actually were master and apprentice though (Yamada and Nagano I mean lol) but I'm surprised TBS had the audacity to do that.

IMO a bunch of competitors can be considered Bunpei's apprentices. You can learn a lot in one single day in Shiratori Shrine, and some competitors wouldn't have been able to pass the Soritatsu Kabe for a while if he didn't train them *cough*Sato*cough.
EDIT: Uhm...aren't we slightly off topic?
