...I know now officially he is never ever going to reach the final stage, that was the best chance he ever had and he blew it.
With TOTAL RENEWAL coming and assumably a much harder stage 3 he's never going to pass especially as he couldn't do this one, he seems permanently cursed by stage 3 now.
Don't flame my view I just telling it how I saw it!
Anyone else feel the same?

I completely disagree. This will motivate him to train harder, and to become better. He'll fight through it, and he'll do it. I believe he can reach the final stage, and I completely disagree with you ^_^ lol

He's lacking something all the others seem to have though - they all made the spider flip transition look dead easy and he just struggled.

He's had the same problem as he's always had. He just runs out of gas towards the end of stage 3. It's really nothing new, he did it i 21 and 23, 2 of his more famous recent runs. Also did the same in Sasuke 15 when he was last man standing. He has all the skills, just doesn't have the stamina.

Hmm I dunno I think he will improve.
Also SRW doesn't the caption under your name contain spoilers? For those who have not seen 24?

Oh yea sorry I'll alter that!
Nice to see another UK'er Famas
Just seems like Stage 3 has a massive psychological grip around Takeda and I just never see him breaking it now.

Well.......Takeda's got to reach the final stage eventually. And I think I agree with supersheep maybe he just needs to work on stamina.

He could definitely reach the final stage, but the signs don't point that way. After so many clears, I thought he was certain to clear, and not only did he blow it, he did worse than last time. Presumably the third stage will be greatly overhauled, and Takeda will have a lot to do, in conjuction with increasing age (even though he's the youngest All Star), since I don't consider his upper body stamina to have improved by any significant amount since the days before Nagano's win.

Why doesn't he just work on upper body stamina and speed?

Why doesn't he just work on upper body stamina and speed? He does everyday. I partially blame it on his shoulder, and I bet his diet sucks too. He probably isn't getting enough calories. Yeah, with (In my opinion) an easier stage 3 in Shin-Sasuke, he had multiple chances to win. Even after 5 people passed he ended up losing on the same obstacle, but doing worse on it than before. Why couldn't he pull himself up? He was going fast, he had enough energy, but he slipped for a second and then just kind of... gave up. Yeah, his stamina really does suck. Most people didn't even look winded after beating stage 3, but Takeda was just struggling.

I disagree with badalight's - "He probably isn't getting enough calories"
Winter weight? 62kg at 23 & he got to the top of spider flip. 64kg at 24 & he can't even get himself up. Before anyone tells me it is 2kg of all muscle, well it is DIFFICULT for an already super-fit athlete to put on 2kg of pure muscle in 3 months unless he is using steroids or something. I estimate he put on half kg of muscle & 1 kg of fats in those 3 months. Takeda is no longer posting fastest times like he used to.
Look at Kanno. He put on 2 kg of muscle in 6 months from 22 to 23 & his body became so much bigger & ripped. Kanno basically trained with weights full-time & eats "oil-free" food. I know Kanno sucked in 24 but that is another story.

As much as i am a fan of Takeda ( i am biased to him caused we are of the same age ), i think he basically blew his best chance of being in a final. It is very unlikely he will ever have such a golden chance again unless:- 1. He decides to change his routine & trains like a crazy maniac. He seems to have reached his limits with his present training. However i will be UNHAPPY if he turns into Yamada or Kanno. I rather he keeps his HEAD screwed on right, like NOW. 2. Monster9 makes sasuke easier

What are you talking about? I'm not talking about his weight, I'm talking about his diet as in how many calories he's taking in and what kinds of foods he's eating. I'm sure he trains enough.
Athletes should eat more than 3 meals a day, U used to eat 5 during Soccer season. I'm just wondering if Takeda is getting the right nutrition.

you said "CALORIES" & NOT:-
1. "not enough protein/ nutrients/ vitamins/ right nutrition/ whatever"
2. I won't be surprised if Takeda has a less than ideal diet. We are so used to seeing pro athletes being all meticulous about their training & diet that it is easy to forget that Takeda is NOT a pro athlete. He is probably a regular guy ( just a very fit one ) who has a regular diet & trains regularly to be fit. I assume ( i could be wrong i admit ) that he is not as strict as the"pros" with their cutting edge science or training methods.

Well, I think that as long as Sasuke keeps going on a while, and he does the work he needs to do in order to increase his upper body endurance, that Takeda will eventually reach the final stage. However, he has a lot of work to do in order to increase his upper body endurance, which seems to be lacking greatly in comparison with the other elite competitors. This was a great chance for him to reach the Final Stage, but he didn't make it. But, I'm sure some people around the time of Sasuke 15 thought that was his best chance to make it and he blew it. So I think that eventually another good chance will come for Takeda to reach the final, and as long as he's done the work, he should reach the Final Stage.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but perhaps Takeda could do slightly better (i.e. reach the Final Stage) if he gives up smoking. I'm really hoping to see him get to his goal someday and possibly even achieve Kanzenseiha.

"They all smoke"- arsenette
We know Takeda & Nagano does, but Urushihara & the STQers too? I would think Hashimoto Koji & Okuyama would not smoke cause of their professions.
