Nagano will either be 98 or 99. Leaning towards 99.
If Nagano isn't 99, I think Kongu gets the nod at 99.

Now that I've come to think about it again, I believe that Nagano should be 96-98 (like XJ-6 said) and that Takeda should be 99 for once. IIRC, Takeda has never been 99 or 100, though he's been 97, 98, or another number in the 90s so many times. After his great/consistent performances throughout most of Shin-Sasuke, I think that he finally deserves #99 in Sasuke 25!

I actually think Nagano will be lower than 99 because of all the people that made it to the final stage and him failing the first stage. As much as I hope I'm wrong, that's my prediction. omg who cares? The previous tournament showed he still has it way after he ever achieved Kanzenseiha. What was he? 2 feet from the Goal after running 5 stages? And Yuuji shall have 100 because he is a machine just like Nagano and basically the new champion.

If we're basing numbers for 25 on total body of work, then yea, Nagano gets 99.
If we're basing numbers on "what have you done for me lately" then Nagano isn't getting 99.

Nagano is "The King of Sasuke." Yamada is still Mr. Sasuke. Why do y'all think he's gone? He's threatened to retire several times before and hasn't done it. I think he means it when he says it, but when it gets close to time for the tournament, he's drawn back. He just loves competing in Sasuke too much to retire. Really, I hope he comes back. I still believe he can win.
Back on topic, Nagano will probably be 99 in Sasuke 25.

I think Nagano will get 99 or somethink in the low 90s or high 80s.
And Tiger, its because he said he'd hold true to his word this time. I wouldnt be surprised however, if he went back, for 25 to see how it is, then retire.

Tiger, as much as you are a fan of Yamada, i believed TBS may not let Yamada come back, at least for 25. Maybe TBS will relent & let him "un-retire" & come back for 26, but not 25. Actually it is a win-win for both. If Yamada comes back in 25, it will hurt TBS & Yamada's credibilty. Cry Wolf? TBS made such a big hype about it that i don't see any other way. Besides, every time he goes back on his retirement threat, he only loses more credibility. TBS hasn't been nice to Mr.Sasuke lately, it "appears" ( could be just TBS hype ) that they can't wait to get rid of him. Yamada should just gracefully honour his word & gets respect & credibilty. IF ratings drop badly without Mr. Sasuke, TBS may have to eat humble pie & beg for his return. Yamada can then return without any misgivings or criticism. He kept to his word & his return was due to the desires of everyone. So everyone wins. So it depends on his fans in Japan to "support" his return with viewership ratings. I believed there is an English phrase ( i maybe wrong ) - "Vote with their feet". Hope you understand. Back to topic. Urushihara at #100. Nagano at #99 ( at least for 25, whether Nagano can stay at #99 depends on his performance from now on ). At least this appears to be the system M9 uses.

I agree, awee; Yamada's threatened to retire in the past, but never has TBS mentioned it (and shown it on charts, etc.) so often as in 24. Every time his name showed up after his run, it had the word "RETIRED" next to it, so it's hard to imagine that TBS would let him come back, especially as 25 is at most only 5 months away. That being said, Nagano gets the nod for 99 from me. He's just done too well and for too long to be displaced by the four others making it to the final *once*. EDIT: Post #666

They will both wear 99 1/2
Actually, the better question is will it be a 2-digit number or a 4-digit number.

They didn't do it for 15 so I doubt they will do it for 25. It's so much more likely that the show will end nowadays though, 25 is obviously a big deal compared to 15. They've been putting the number of the tournament in big letters behind the Start line ever since 20 anyway.
