Sucks. :/ Well, what it says is what originally was the "JET Japan" channel is turning into a "JET General" with Taiwanese shows...wonder what this says about Lee's continued appearance in Sasuke...

He's nervous The only thing he's thinking is that if TBS likes him he will continue to be on the show via TBS invite directly. He was paid for by TBS at the last second. Explains why 23 was delayed as well. Now to see if JET will show 24 or if they canceled the contract. That's a huge blow to M9/TBS since I'm sure the contract was not cheap. At this point it will solidify G4's involvement since it will directly impact their bottom line to keep G4's license.

I think some good will come from this. Perhaps G4 will lose their license and someone who will actually put some care into it will get it.

G4 (sadly) will most likely not lose their license because it's not tbs not letting jet show the tournaments anymore it's jet dropping the variety block of shows (which I'm assuming includes kunoichi, Viking and banzuke). And I'm pretty certain if g4 stops showing sasuke, whoever (If anyone) picks it up will probarly put as much care or even less onto it as g4.

Well, I had my wife read Lee's page and the JET site and it seems that yes, JET will now move in a new direction. There haven't been any Banzuke episodes for a few weeks now and they seem to be moving to local programming. But my wife also said there is talk that anotehr channel here may pick up SASUKE so there's still hope (I hope).

That really does suck. I hope that Lee continues to get invites from TBS (I don't see why not, he is probably the most consistent competitor in the Shin-SASUKE era). I agree Lars, I hope that another station picks up SASUKE. SASUKE is huge in Taiwan anyway, so I don't see why that couldn't happen.

It is huge here and I am pretty sure that another TV channel will pick up SASUKE an maybe the other TBS shows too. There is a demand- maybe Lee should start rallying some support and getting people to approach tv stations if it hasn't already happened.

Wow that sucks.. And I'm in America and saying that.. I mean think about how that effects all of us.. No JET broadcasts anymore so if we don't find TBS broadcasts or some old recordings show up we'll never have the full Sasuke tournaments (and we have some tournaments we've yet to find). Lee En Chi might not get the chance to compete again unless TBS invites him back (and I dunno about you guys but after seeing him make the Final Stage I'd like to see how he does in 25 after the "Kanzen Renewal" (Should I start saying "Perfect Renewal" just so I don't confuse you guys? ) TBS is talking about. And if some other station in Taiwan picks it up they might have to suffer through edited G4 broadcasts.. And that's just horrible.. what it says is what originally was the "JET Japan" channel Sorry for just talking about that part of your post but isn't that pretty repetitive? Doesn't JET Stand for "Japan Entertainment Television"?

But I agree he's easily one of the best.

I don't think any other channel would've made an obstacle course in America and than had people run it to get onto the actual course. ESPN sure as f**k wouldn't.

Bad news! I maybe biased but i loved the JET broadcasts. Their format is the best, ironically better than TBS cause TBS only show Japanese subtitles occasionally. IMO, all the sasukes should be shown the full TBS version with subtitles in your local language. Since Sasuke is huge in Taiwan, i think it will still be shown BUT it will probably be G4 "Ninja Warrior" version. As for Lee, it is going to be even harder.

I think Lee's future in Sasuke in general is now secured. TBS's move to pay for him to get to 24 was one of the issues plus his continued improvement throughout his Sasuke Career. Taiwan is proud of him even if some are a bit jealous he's the only one since 17 ever to come out of Taiwan.
Sasuke I hope gets another channel to be broadcast.. the fanbase is HUGE in Taiwan.. for such a small country they have a fanbase that rivals us here in the USA.. it's enormous.. I'm sure right now with Lee's help they are forming a resistance to the end of Sasuke. I hope they win something out of it in some form or fashion. I'm rooting for our Taiwan friends so they can continue watching the show and maybe even getting more of their own on Sasuke. We know Lee has been a huge contribution so far.

And with Lee getting to the final stage in 24, this can only boost ratings and give support to any channel thinking of taking over from JET.
On the plus side though, I believe JET TV will continue to show old versions of SASUKE and maybe other programs for the time being although they won't be showing any new programming. SASUKE 18 was on last weekend...

Does it say anywhere the actual turn over time? Very rarely are these things "effective immediately".

I've been quite fortunate as I have recorded all SASUKE competitions except for 24 and have some Sportsman No.1 and Banzuke as well. Wish they'd play the Viking comps. again- I miss those!
