Well here's my 2 cents on #24....
The Good:
Where do you begin? 5 guys in the final stage, the return of Washimi, new obstacles in all 3 stages, Lee representing Taiwan in the final, Rie Komiya in her white shorts again (sigh), and of course Yuuji dominating the course. Add to that the knowledge that SASUKe will go on and the course likely redesigned again and that's a pretty good competition.
The Bad:
Kanno's time out on stage 1 Akiyama and Mr. Sasuke faiing the WW- I mean, you guys built your own WW in your backyard and you still can't beat it? that idiot 'comedian' or mental patient as I see it #35 - what is that? the dude in the bikini- please go away forever X bridge....did anyone fall? the fall off the Gliding Ring----yeesh!
The Ugly:
Sorry Nagano, but this spot is reserved for you! What he was doing is anyone's guess. The only other thing I can think of is the length of time...I love SASUKE but come on...5.5 hours straight (not including the history..preview...navi...whatever earlier). Way too long folks..and I thought 4 hours was long!
All in all a great competitin and way to go Yuuji! Can't wait to see what the producers have in mind for #25!

Bad: What was that preview/history special suppose to be? That was just the NAVI with some obstacle demos. Waste of an hour as far as I was concerned

Thoughts:
Obviously awesome - 5 finalists, Yuuji kanzenseiha, everyone getting very deep into Stage 3, good number of clears in stage 1, Salmon Ladder + Unstable Bridge combo, Balance Tank back. STQs/New Stars, miscellaneous strong competitors (i.e. Kongu, Okuyama, Lee) showing everyone what they're made of. Oh, and Gliding Ring fail just for the lulz. (Agree about Rie Komiya, as well.) The promise of better things to come in the spring (they're really ramping up the pace of these tournaments, yeah?)
"Meh" - X Bridge and Rope Junction...not all that effective, really. Akiyama, Yamada, Shingo, Kanno failing Stage 1 (to be entirely honest none of them were really unexpected, but...)
"WTF" - Nagano. 'Nuff said. I was wondering whether he'd be able to climb up the tower in time in 24, not whether he could get past the first half of Stage 1. But his explanation makes sense. Rushing too much, being overconfident...happens to the best of us, I guess.

Rope Junction...not all that effective, You mean to tell me you actually think it's WORSE than the Kudari Ranpu Grasper?

You mean to tell me it isn't?
Anyway... URUSHIHARA!!! I'm so happy for him! I don't think anyone deserved it more than him.

HOW HAVE NONE OF YOU GUYS MENTIONED TAKEDA. HE ALMOST HAD IT GODDAMN IT.
I MEAN IT WAS LIKE A HOLLYWOOD MOVIE, EVERY ONE CLEARED, MADE IT LOOK EASY, AND ALL THAT WAS LEFT WAS ONE MAN WHO NEVER BEAT IT.
GODDAMN IT TAKEDA. ><><><
Now that was the ugly right there.

I Fell so sorry for Takeda. Five Clears in a row making it look easy. I guess he just ran out of steam. I'm curious to see what the producers have in mind for the redesigning of the stages.

Well to be entirely honest I felt like it was kind of expected...you get blasé to his 3rd stage after he's failed it 12 times, after all. It's like Yamada on stage 1, sure, you hope he'll make it, but one part of you is like "nah, he'll fail it, as usual" and hardly anyone's surprised when he does. I don't want to be dissing Takeda, he did hella well, but he's not really one to show insane improvement between tournaments, either.

Bad: So many big names failed Stage One: Akiyama, Yamada, Paul ANTHONY Terek, Yamamoto, Kanno, Naoki, Nagano

I'm just remembering all the class moments in Sasuke 24. I thought I'd lose it for sure when Yuuji addressed Takeda-sama.
And Kongu. Oh my. What's it been, something like 10 years to get to a final? He really deserved the chance. Ube's description made me laugh and laugh, but I refrained from taking the bait.
I've also been thinking for a couple of years about how I'm going to have to learn a bunch of new names.
Does anybody know what time it was in Japan when everything wrapped up? It had to be really late...or early, as the case may be.
Oh. One last thing. My butt's square from sitting so long.

Good: Yuuji's Kanzenseiha of course , Washimi returning, LEE GETTING TO THE FINAL STAGE 5 people making it to the final stage altogether, Bunpei showing up to support everyone, and the 3rd stage getting pretty much demolished. Bad: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER!!!! SATO, Rope Junction is a sucky obstacle, Balance Tank was too easy to be honest, Shingo, Yamada, Kanno, and Akiyama failing stage 1, and the cross bridge was seriously WAY too easy to beat, and I was so sad to see Takeda fail the spider flip. Ugly: Gliding ring STOPPER fail, and of course....Nagano.

The Ugly: The Mr. Octopus Peep Show.... XD
And the "Balance Tank". I honestly think someone like Levi can jump over the balance tank and make the platform at the bottom. =/ At least let the thing roll all the way down to then end. The extra platform at the bottom just made it too simple.

GOOD: 1. Urushihara didn't even need to swing his body for Shin-Cliff! Who ever said shin-cliff is hard? it is Nothing if you are UNCLI. 2. U.Y.'s Spider Flip. Who says you need to use your legs? Unbelievable! 3. Lee in final. 4. Kongu in final. 5. Okuyama in final. 6. Washimi is Back! 7. U. Yuuji's balance training helped him get the fastest time in stage 1. 8. 3rd Kanzenseiha! BAD. 1. Takeda. 10 years, 20 tries, 15X 2nd stage , 13X 3rd stage. Davidyko, actually you are right in saying it is not surprising. When he took so long at the spider flip, i know it is over but it still feels tragic. Worse of all, he is aging & with another revamp. . i feel very sad for that guy. 2. Nagano. In an obstacle where he is usually the master. I mean if it was the S.Kabe, slider jump or metal spin, it will not suck so much for his fans. But this??? Shocking "Shingo-ed" it. 3. Yamada. UGLY: 1. the gliding ring failure 2. Bring back Body Prop!

The UGLY: I don't know about you guys, but did it bother anyone that the kanzenseiha came too quick? I mean it's only been like 6 competitions since the renewal and already someone won. IDK maybe it's just me though, but I felt it was too soon for it to happen.

The ugly: Tournament as whole. Set-up by TBS to basically ensure a kanzenseiha. I don't know about you guys, but that's garbage. It meant something when Nagano won.
When Yuuji won, who actually cared? It's only been like 3 year since Nagano won, and yuuji won in 4 tries.
The final stage was god awful easy, stage 3 is god awful easy. The difficulty of stage 1 and 2 cannot make up for it.
If M9 wanted a Kanzenseiha that bad they could've atleast made it less obvious. I honestly lost a bit of respect for the show as a whole.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't include Takeda before. That was one of the most agonizing things I have ever seen on SASUKE. He gave everything he had to get up to the Spider Flip- everything! Yet he still failed and I think we all shared his (and Nagano's) pain in failing and still not getting to the final stage. It's not meant to be for the firefighter but he's a great competitor nonetheless.
I don't agree that it was easy- these guys that made the final work exceptionally hard in training for this competition. THey are serious competitors and only 1 out of the 5 completed the rope climb. Yuuji is just an amazing athlete. But a change is needed and #25 will be tough- count on it!
