I think it's hard to say, throughout his past runs Yamada has been surprising us lately, so really I can't tell whether he'll pass or not. It's rather unpredictable.

Ditto to Badalight's ( Quoted ): " He's not just blandly practicing obstacles...(lost) a lot of weight...he is working on stamina, he lost a little bit of that cocky attitude of his." Precisely i think he can do it this time. After losing so much weight & all that stamina work, if he still can't clear the 1st stage...well....

I think the person failing the hpa in the cm is yamada. That was in the day But when they showed him at the start line in the navi wasn't it already completely dark though?

Just think, when Yamada fails the 1st stage again he'll have failed the First Stage for half of the history of SASUKE

Just think, when Yamada fails the 1st stage again he'll have failed the First Stage for half of the history of SASUKE That's making it sound 100% sure he will fail. I believe if he beats the hpa and warped wall in one go he will clear.

NO...but it depends how well he does in the first stage in the jumping spider, warped wall and slider jump but I think he fails in the slider jump.

He failed the wall. And I don't think he'll retire. Each time he vows to retire(SASUKE 8 & 17), he failed the wall and returned immediately after.

I really hope he stays true to the way he's always been and comes right back at Sasuke 24, even though they did make a big deal with the commercials. I really want to see him clear stage one again, it'd be so awesome. And for that matter, I'd like to see Akiyama clear it again as well.

I think we all would like to see him pass stage 1, whether some people like him or not. Same ges for Takeda getting to the final satge. But it just may not happen- hope they keep trying though.

His failure was the second saddest of the tourney, only being trumped by Nagano's. He was doing really good. He got the slap on his back by Nagano/Takeda and you could tell he was really focusing on each obstacle. He wasn't doing it his way this time, he used the techniques of the other all-stars to try and win and it was really working. If he was about 2 centimeters higher his finger tips would've grabbed the wall, and with his strength he could've held on and got up. Soooo close. That last fail where he slid down the wall was just... agh. How he just laid there in utter defeat. Didn't even do an interview afterwards and it was so much more emotional than any of his previous shin-sasuke failures. It'll be especially heart breaking if he stay true to his word (That sounds a bit off but yes I hope he breaks his promise, lol!) Well if he is gone hope he can get the job and family situation figured out. Iit'll be sad seeing one of my favorites gone though.

I don't think he should retire. Why not give the renewal course a go before retiring. Maybe some of the new obstacles will be more suited for Yamada. You never know. =/

Despite what I may feel on the subject I don't think he'll be back as a competitor simply because TBS made a huge spectacle about it. They put out ads, they put in their description of the show, they had a commercial made specifically for it, and they signaled his end in the show. While some of the points have been done before with his previous threats I don't believe all have been done in the same tourney. That said we are talking about Yamada but I don't think TBS will do it. He may be back watching but I don't think he will compete. Be kind of stupid after all this hype to not go through with the actual threat. I don't care who it is (whether basketball, football, etc. etc.).. if someone mentions they are going to do something they should be man enough to honor it. He should be happy to know that despite everything he still has fans. Now to see if he will finally be a man of his word. He hasn't been so far and quite frankly that's one of the reasons why I don't like him.

I agree with arsenette; in the show every time the showed his results for this tournament they made sure to write: "1st Warped Wall Time Up: RETIRED". Every single effing time, and that's including the All-Star fail chart; Bunpei had "Did Not Compete", Akiyama and Shingo (and Nagano, I guess, but the chart was before his run) had Xs, but Yamada had "RETIRED" is good ol' red letters.
TBS might not even let him come back, actually, after they made such a big deal out of it.

I hope TBS lets Yamada come back. He's one of my favorites. And if he decides he wants to come back, they may let him. He's Mr. Sasuke, remember? He has a lot of fans. If he does leave, ratings will probably drop. Hopefully TBS realizes that. I really don't think Yamada will retire. He loves competing in Sasuke too much. And despite what Ube thinks, the other All-stars would be sad if Yamada left.

My other complaint if he comes back is that they denied Akiyama the chance to come back after both he and Takeda "retired" after 17. Nagano fought to bring them both back and only Takeda was allowed to come back. They made Akiyama stay home because they didn't want another Yamada incident. Because Takeda didn't go on record saying he was technically leaving but Akiyama did TBS made him sit out and he couldn't come back until friggin Sasuke 20 so at this point if Mr. Sasuke can't be a man of his word and TBS backs out after the biggest spectacle ever made about someone leaving than that's one more thing I'll be pissed about on the Yamada rant. As for people not tuning in because he's not there that doesn't mean he wont' be there like Bunpei did. Maybe if he actually does retire he'll get the respect out of us who are kinda tired of him going through the motions of retiring 3 times before...

IMO Yamada no matter what he will not compete in Sasuke 25 but he might comeback in Sasuke 28 or something and TBS could make a big deal about his return

He's been through a lot. You can't help but feel sorry for the guy. It's sad that he has a lot of haters here.
