See, the thing is,
When I posted this statement:
"If this isn't how you don't want it to be, then leave, make your own forums, and stay there."
It was based off on something that you said before. (hint)
With that, unless you talk to the mods and wait for the changes, you won't get anything done by the time of the broadcast.

To my knowledge.. David doesn't know the results. All he is doing is writing what TBS wrote. People need to get a grip. If they don't want to know what TBS wrote they need to stop looking at the forums. Not make a rash judgment on the show they haven't seen. As for everyone else having a coronary and spilling to the other threads (I was not aware about so forgive me on that) the solution is simple. Delete the offending posts and then ban the people for the tournament since they are incapable of being courteous. The zomg stuff should have been contained in that one thread that currently has a spoiler tag. Correct? At this point it's an administrative problem.. which is why I'm not a mod because I would have banned half the boards by now As for babysitting the new people who refuse to watch after a commercial. There's not a whole lot we can do. Honestly. They aren't fans to my knowledge if they get freaked out about the promotional material.

The trailer (because quite frankly that is what this is) is now here and we get to talk about the show before it starts. Do YOU stop watching a movie because you saw the trailer and saw what you perceived to be the main character of the show being killed?? I like the movie analogy. Take for instance the movie Titanic. People knew the ship was going to sink, but yet people still went to see it and it became the highest grossing film of all time. It does suck that some of my fellow lurkers have said they wont watch the event now, but I still question their desire to watch it in the first place. Offtopic: I just noticed my noob usergroup is the creepy model maker guy.

Pretty much what's been said to be wrong with your posts has been said, but I still would like to insert my two cents here. The problem was from the get-go (despite you stating you weren't trying to) you sounded whiny. You didn't help yourself by intensifying it in your other posts: That was just one of the problems, another was how a couple of your suggestions ended up sounding like a 'force' Generalizing doesn't help either Not to mention constantly calling out David, yes he was the one to translate, you still did it even after you said you shouldn't have. There's nothing wrong with addressing a problem. There IS something wrong with the way you presented it, and that's what dragged this whole situation further than it needed be. IMO this thread didn't even need to be made, because if the lurkers (who made a profile in order to even see this board) didn't like being spoiled, instead of bitching about it in the chat, should've made a thread here. Maybe if you didn't attempt to be the more or less "spokesperson" for them since you had conflicting viewpoints (you hate spoilers but you'll still watch) and/or you could've just said "Hey, there was a spoiler with no warning, let's try to cool it down with that" and left it there, I wouldn't be mentioning it as late as I am now. I do know you didn't intend to have a small argument about it, and I hope my post doesn't accidentally cause one, just next time, instead of ranting, think so you "offend" as few people as possible, preferably none at all. I do have to say though, if people aren't going to watch it because they got spoiled then good. Because 1. they won't spoil it for people who didn't see the thread(s) and 2. more slots for people so those who actually wish to see it spoiled or not can get through, since (to my knowledge) no streams got verified by Livestation. EDIT: Again, this is pretty much the epitome of a broken record post, but I wasn't here during the 'meat and bones' of it

As it seems like I'm the one shouldering the blame here (imagine the surprise after I got a good night's sleep and see this!) I should probably say a few words.
I apologize specifically, for posting about said spoiler in the Sasuke Guessing Game IV thread. It was off-topic, had no spoiler tags, and I can see how it would upset people. However, on the "newest advance notification" thread I did specifically add a spoiler warning to the thread title after the site/video was posted, and as such as I was completely within rights to translate and thus, "spoil" the fact that TBS is basically telling anyone who will listen that a kanzenseiha is achieved. Granted, we won't even know if this is true (even though it most likely is) until Jan 1st, but I thought people who wanted to know deserved to know. And trust me, there are a lot of people who will still watch, or dare I say are even more excited to watch, now that they know a kanzenseiha is going to take place. Why else would TBS do this?
I reiterate the point (made by Arsenette) that I DON'T KNOW THE RESULTS. It can hardly be called a spoiler if it's uncertain whether the result being posted is true or not. TBS might be doing a desperate last-ditch effort to get more viewers on New Year's Day. It is unlikely, but it is possible. I don't think merely translating the description of a broadcast counts as spoiling very much, if at all, but I apologize again for any inconvenience or grief my ability in Japanese and desire to pass information on to you guys have caused. I was sloppy, yes, and I won't do it again, but I don't think I deserve to be crucified.
That's all for now.

Nah David you know me by now that I don't crucify you on it. You were kind enough to translate something for us who have been led astray for a long time with Google translation. I hope you continue to do so. I did not know about the other parts and I assume they are gone from the threads since all this happened well after I came back from what I was doing and WW3 erupted.
At this point it's just damage control and jsut have to watch from this point out since it's clear TBS wants us to watch and has been unusual in their ferver to the point where they are hosting on site videos. I hope they continue this trend and I hope for the new people they understand that TBS is in their right to do so and we are in our right to enjoy their content.

Haha thanks, and I agree. Just for the record, iirc what happened in the Guessing Game thread was someone pointing out that a lot of people had Nagano down as Kanzenseiha, and another person said that "well, a kanzenseiha is confirmed, etc. etc.", and I confirmed that said statement was written by TBS. I wasn't even the one who first brought it up in the thread, but yeah, I shouldn't have done that in a spoiler-free thread, and probably should've deleted the post as a moderator. Kinda lost myself in the excitement, I guess. Meh.

I think we should just lock this thread because its purpose has been served.
Of those lurkers (hi!) who are saying that they won't watch the show...sleep on it. Think about how much was spoiled for you and then think about your position. If you still don't think you are going to watch, well, that's a shame.

TBS did NOT say Nagano achieved Kanzenseiha. They said that there was a kanzenseiha. So how is it any different from a news broadcast saying that a world record was set but the news anchor will only announce the achiever's name & world record figures after the commercial break? So a real swimming fan will watch even if he guessed Mike Phelps broke a world record OR maybe Mike Phelps was beaten & the world record was set by another guy? Ditto to the Titanic analogy & drama series' "coming up in the next episode" analogy. Hell, when i watch a WW2 movie, i knew which side won. Most of us hear watched the old sasukes already knowing the result. Is it right or wrong? Fair or Unfair? Who knows? These things happen in real life. Live with it.
