THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SASUKE 24, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED THIS IS THE LAST WARNING, DON'T READ AHEAD. So there is a problem that has recently come to my attention, spoilers. No I'm not talking about spoiling results of 23 outside of the Sasuke 23 forum, I mean pre tourney spoilers. Now I can handle some things, but this is ridiculous. Sasuke 24, there will be a kazenseiha. TBS has said so. How do I know? Because someone blatantly said it. There was no warning, the thread title didn't say "spoilers" no spoiler tags were used. NOTHING. No warning. Now, I purposely avoided the thread that said SPOILERS thinking I'd be okay. But now the ending, and the biggest ending possible, has been spoiled for me. Yeah, thanks a lot you guys. Am I just being a little whiny b*tch? No. I am not the only one who got it spoiled. A lot of lurkers and new comers got this tourney spoiled for them to. Some people arn't even going to watch it because the kazenseiha was spoiled. I for one, am incredibly upset TBS said that in the first place. Secondarily pissed off at David for outright saying it with no spoiler tags, and he's the one who translated the damn thing. A lot less of us would know if not for him, which probably would've prevented me from being spoiled. Now, I know David was just being nice in translating and to be fair he DID say it in the thread titled (spoilers), but he also mentioned it outside of there. Plus he gave no warning either. For something that big I'd think some sort of warning should be put in place. Have we forgotten the recent addition to the forum BLT added? THESE THINGS RIGHT HERE?!? I mean, I can take some spoilers. It's cool to know new obstacles, it's cool to know who is competing, but to know the ending of the entire broadcast... that's really pushing it. How am I or others supposed to avoid spoilers? Yeah, maybe we shouldn't come into the Sasuke 24 section at all, but what choice do we have? People come in here to look for airdates, ways to view it, take part in Sesslers guessing game, speculate, and more. But I for one, don't come in here to have the broadcast spoiled for me. That's ridiculous, and anyone who doesn't atleast use a spoiler tag should be punished accordingly. And yes, I'm talking about you Blind, BLM, Tiger, David, and SRW.

I do apologize, Bada. I will delete my posts that say the spoilers. Once again, I am sorry.

However, in my defense, i do have the right, within these boards, to post any spoilers I want. You do enter with your own caution.

It's not just me that should be apologized to. There are many many many others who got it spoiled and are complaining.
Maybe they shouldn't come here at all, that's true.
But ATLEAST have the courtesy to give a proper warning.

Can we PLEASE not call each other out??? It was an innocent mistake, and we're not even sure that there will be a kanzenseiha until we see it with our own eyes. Do we remember SASUKE 22 and we're all like "There's gonna be a kanzenseiha! They said so!" and then in SASUKE 23 we're all like "I see Nagano at the top of the tower he's gonna win!"? How many kanzenseihas did that produce? None.
Please. Let's hold off until January 1.

I put spoiler in my thread even though it was hardly a massive spoiler was just about a potential prize.

This isn't the same case. This is TBS actually saying "A KAZENSEIHA WAS ACHIEVED"
The other times was purely speculation, this time it's a well known fact.
Maybe it was a little much to call people out, but at the same time they honestly ruined the tourney for many many people and will ruin it for many more to come.
I'd greatly appreciate if they would all edit their posts to take out any spoilers in a non-spoiler thread.
Specifically Sasuke Guessing Game 4.

They come here at their own risk. Now yes, I made a mistake and i did delete my posts in the guessing game thread. And I am sorry for spoiling. However, they do come here at their own risk, and if they aren't prepared to see spoilers, then they shouldn't be here. But you've already stated you don't respect my opinion. And I have better things to do on Kwanzaa eve then argue on the internet with someguy.

But that's the thing. The tournament hasn't even aired yet. People arn't prepared for spoilers and people should have the curteousy of marking them accordingly.
I for one, didn't want to be spoiled.
Why do I come to this section?
Well for one if I want Sasuke 24 info, where do I go? General Sasuke? The Sasuke 23 section? Nope.
I go here.
How would I have known the air date? The time it starts? Navi? Sasuke History special?
It's all in this section. There is too much valuable information here for me not to check. Even more so for newer people, especially ones who don't expect spoilers.
What if people arn't part of the Sasuke Facebook group? What if they are just lurkers here? What if they have no outside connections?
Getting Sasuke 24 info, people automatically head towards the Sasuke 24 section.
I know a lot of new people to this site who have come and gotten the kazenseiha spoiled.
And yes it is a LARGE number of people despite spoilers only being up for about a day.

I understand where you are coming from Bada, and I totally understand why your pissed.
However, the people doing the reporting and the posting it here are not at fault. I'm sorry, but this is now COMMON knowledge because TBS is not only hinting at this but they are actually saying it. It's one thing if someone has inside info and then starts blabbing about it before it airs, but it is another thing if the broadcasting company is proclaiming that it is happening.
Regardless, like bigblind said, this is a SASUKE 24 forum, there are going to be spoilers in just about every thread here. Nothing like punishments to posters is necessary, although maybe a tweaking of the rules is in order. From now on, it probably is a good idea to post WHAT kind of posters is in the thread or will be in the thread. (For example: SASUKE 24 rumors (competitor spoilers) or New Commercial (Results spoilers)) that way at least you know not to go into that particular thread. The problem still remains though, there will always be cross-thread posting.
To all that got your tournament ruined, I'm sorry. I still suggest watching the tournament, as it will be enjoyable regardless even if the ending will now be a bit anti-climatic.

Yes Scnoi, but what about the people who come in here looking for info on when to watch it?
Should they be getting spoiled because of that? That's what's happend. I didn't think I'd get away scott free, but I would've expected more of a warning than what I got.
The thread I was in didn't have any spoiler label in the title. The person who gave the spoilers didn't use the new Spoilers tags nor did they give any warning before doing so.
I mean, if you're going to say anything with spoilers atleast use the spoiler tags. It's not that hard, you just click 1 button.
Even if you're not sure, you can always use them just to be safe. We have that option for a reason. Almost NO ONE has used them.
I know this is the Sasuke 24 forum, but this is the place people go for information regarding it. So granted it's before the actual recording date people be randomly getting the tournament randomly spoiled for them.
This section will have spoilers, but we can take precautions.
(These are all in the scenario of before the tournament actually airs)
1. Any thread with the potential of spoilers should be titled accordingly. I shouldn't go into a thread titled "Makoto Nagano" only to see his results for 24.
2. Spoilers shouldn't pop up in certain threads. Even if spoiler tags are used some threads need to stay completely sanctioned, and I'm speaking of the important threads. The threads for Sasuke 24 information regarding recording date and how to view it should be clearly viewable at the top of the page and should not contain any spoilers regarding the tournament what so ever. No exceptions. people shouldn't be getting the tourney spoiled just because they want to know how to watch the damn thing.
3. When in doubt, use spoiler tags. It doesn't hurt to use spoiler tags, nor is it very hard. Regardless of big or small spoiler, regardless of the thread it's in, spoilers tags should always be used if you're talking about a spoiler.
This should all be pretty obvious, and I'd think the forum would be above us having to place strict rules on it. This should all be common sense but apparently not. I havn't seen 1 person actually use the spoiler tags for Sasuke purposes. Not ONE.

Also 1 more thing, this idea being seperate from my first post, about TBS spoiling the tourney.
yes, TBS is spoiling it... but how many people would've known been spoiled if it weren't for our forums?
I know I don't go randomly translating TBS articles and such. If it weren't for Blind and the others in the Guessing game thread, I wouldn't have known at all. It's not TBS's fault.
The only reason I know is because of this forum. The only reason the other people I mentioned know is because of this forum.
Yes TBS is blatantly saying Kazenseiha, but how many of us would actually know that had it not been for David?
I for one wouldn't have. How would I know? I don't speak Japanese, most of us don't speak japanese.
So even though they're saying it, it's still a spoiler for the tourney that can easily be kept secret.
We shouldn't be talking about it so freely.

Yea, and how easy is it to not put SASUKE 23/24 spoilers outside of the forum? Not hard at all, and yet it happens ALL THE TIME, and I or the other mods have to clean up the mess. That is easy compared to what your suggesting (which is still easy, but requires effort and thought which we all lack at times...)
Talking with supersheep, he and me thought of this idea: One thread, on the top of the forum, that is locked to regular posters. There you have your info on times/dates, how to watch it, and those links. In the thread title of every thread, there will be some sort of warning saying that there are spoilers AND what kind of spoilers are in the thread. So for example, it will say something like "Slider Jump (Results Spoilers)" I'm also gonna need more help from the mods in this and may need more mods to help out with controlling what goes on in the board and all boards.
I KNOW people won't use the spoiler tags, because the mentally in this forum is normally, "We are in a closed forum, most people should know what they are getting themselves into." I agree that people that got spoiled sucks most of all and I really don't want it to happen again.

Are we talking about a post from the Taiwan fan? The one posting the video? First, I am glad they are posting and even in the correct forum. We've been doing really really good for the past 2 weeks with people not going through crazy conclusions and outlandish heresay with pics from 5 miles away.. and then this erupts at the first "official" thing. I can understand excitement but it's sometimes difficult to explain what the word "spoiler" is to someone who doesn't speak our language. So for that I think this one time is a pass. People who post regularly here is another story but for this one I'm not having a cow.
The other thing if it is the one I think it is.. first of all it's a commercial. They said the same frigging thing in 22 and 23 and now 24. Nothing is confirmed and they will say anything for anyone to watch. I can't believe WW3 is being declared for a commercial that's designed to provoke a reaction for you to watch.
Third.. it's 2 days until Navi and people will erupt even louder about it. Even things not considered spoilers will be "zomg you said such and such". Personally.. NO one unless they were there knows wtf happened so we can't even gauge what is a spoiler at this point. Right not EVERYTHING is speculation since TBS manipulates the viewers to see EXACTLY what they want so people can talk and watch.
Lastly. This is not the G4 forums. I'm sick and tired of people trying to be muzzled for an event we've been waiting for. It hasn't even happened yet so nothing fits that way. If you want absolutely nothing I suggest (honestly.. not trying to be a b****) to walk away from the forums until Sasuke 24. From this point on it's going to be virtually impossible to not ruin your experience as you see it. Personally I don't see this any different than the previous 4 Sasuke's I've seen live. Maybe I'm getting old.. but this is beyond ridiculous at this point.

I think he's talking more about the text from the TBS site. And the fact that people were talking about it all willy-nilly all over the forum in other threads.
Not that the commercial helps keep things secret though.

Arsenette, I'm speaking about multiple lurkers who visit our forum, who went into the Sasuke 24 section just to learn info on the recording date, only to have the ending spoiled for them.
Now they arn't even gonna watch it.
I'm pissed myself, but I care more about the other people than me. I'm mad it got spoiled, but I'll still be watching.

My apologies in advance. If someone doesn't want to watch a show because of a commercial.. they seriously need to question their loyalty or even general desire to watch the show. Anyone that has watched the show in general.. knows that they give spoilers at the TOP of teh show.. will that same person(s) stop watching because it's no longer fun to watch? They obviously don't watch Ninja Warrior since they spoil just about every run.
To be honest I haven't seen massive spoilers since the show itself hasn't even aired and we are still talking about one commercial. Remember the orange pants? And the "I'm sure it's such and such"? I think honestly it's no different than watching Sasuke 21-23 where they guaranteed someone in the final... seriously.
