Figured we can start a post and as people get to watch it you can comment on it. I did a long post in G4 about it and how they can improve (obviously my own opinion on it ) forums.g4tv.com/showthread.php?t=140854Personally it would behove G4 to read the comments (and they do sometimes) so if you want to post something there feel free. They need to read both positive and negatives so there will be a better ANW 2.

So is it OK for us to post spoilers in this thread on the first 4 episodes since it already aired on G4? Otherwise, there isn't much for me to say.

I don't see why not provided that it stays on topic to the 4 episodes this week and not talking about who ultimately was sent and how they did in 23 (at least until it airs next week).

We can mention what happened in the first few episodes. But in the main part of the forums and at G4's forums we can't name who the 10 are. But this is the 23 forum where we already know who all 10 are so it doesn't matter, we can name all 10 HERE if we want.

In that case, I have to say that it was okay. Although it was different and interesting at points, it didn't live up to the expectations that I had for it. It wasn't AS great as I thought it would be, plus it was rather repetitive. After all, didn't anyone notice that during the 3rd episode they said something along the lines of "Now the competitors must not only worry about finishing the course but also worry about the clock" like 10 times? Note that they rarely showed people failing in the 2nd and 3rd episodes (but instead usually only showed the people who got faster and faster times), which made these episodes even more repetitive and sort of boring. The 1st and 4th parts were IMO the better ones, but they still seemed to lack the interest in me that I was hoping for. Also, I do think that it was very unfair that if you were a notable face and made a minor mistake and fell because of it (ex.: Brett Sims; Luci Romberg; etc.), you were eliminated. Even when it came to showing the 10 winners' runs/interviews/profiles/other stuff involving them, it sort of hinted at who would end up going to Sasuke 23. Having many of these 10 standing out from the majority of the other competitors seemed to foreshadow them winning ANW for those that didn't already know its results (or it at least seemed like this despite the fact that I already knew the results in general). So overall, I didn't care for ANW that much if you didn't already realize this.

Editing was actually horrid.. one thing that I like about the original (Sasuke) is that you don't know who will make it.. period.. you could be #99 (and shown accordingly in their place) and fail... if Sasuke would be a G4 broadcast like ANW.. they would move 99 to the beginning or cut him altogether because it fit their format. There's no way to build any suspense since the formula is already predicted for you. It's bad enough they tried to show as if 2 days were 1 and if they actually knew their numbers.. they edited it in such a way that you don't even need to see the beginning of the show because that's where they put the majority of the failures.

My mom liked it, so I liked it.
The rope swing was cool, and I liked the Pipe Slider, although they should make it harder.
It was only a trial to get on the actual show though. I can't wait until I'm 21 so I can try it myself.

The announcer/narrator got better as the as he went along; but I kept having the feeling that he did that after the editing, and not live.

You can tell by the sound quality. Would have been funny if they were able to do that over the loudspeaker but I think they were setting up for interviews, etc. along the side.

I just had a theory on what G4 might be doing as far as the showing the actual Sasuke 23. Now this sounds like a complete epic fail, but coming from G4, and based on their history, I can totally see this.
I think they might finish up ANW next week, then wait like a month to show 23 to make it look like the 10 winners JUST got chosen and now they have to go take on the course. I know that sounds ridiculous, but up until the showing of the start of ANW, you still had people on the G4 boards asking how they can go try out or get tickets to watch etc.
That leads me to believe that a lot of people out there that aren't in the loop still think this stuff is either live or not nearly as delayed as it is. Plus doesn't G4 have a reputation of distorting the time frame to make it look like this stuff is actually happening or had just recently happened?
Anyone think this could be happening?

I guess there's always the possibility of this supersheep, though that would be yet another bad move by G4 IMO. Either way, I'm disliking how G4 delays/messes with Sasuke competitions more and more everyday.

Well G4 is trying to make it look like their show, you can tell that by ANW, they are trying to mold it into something its not. I guess G4 figures if they change it enough, it'll become their own show

Thats whats going to happen. There going to play it off like that exactly. Thats how all reality shows happen, they pretend like its happening in real time when in reality its a few months prior. I don't mind G4 doing this though, just because it'll probably make more people excited for Sasuke, even though they could watch it.

That's not what they're doing. It's already been said a few times that this Saturday's last two ANW episodes will be of the final 10 running the Sasuke course.

I dont mind that, i just dont want it to turn into...
5 minute recap of [insert various free runner here]'s incredible run to time out at the Slider Jump! 10 minue recap of [insert various free runner here]'s historic run to the tarzan rope!
Oh by the way, Okuyama made the Spider Flip and Takahashi the gliding ring, but they aren't an All Star or american so we dont give a **** about them.
If they get them all out of the way before hand, that'll defnately help the 23 broadcast.

Well, don't forget. American Ninja Warrior is meant to highlight the 10 americans who were sent, so you should probably expect that.
I would be shocked if they showed anyone's runs besides the American 10.

I think we are confusing 2 things. I expect ONLY to see the 10 American's full runs on ANW's Part 7-8. In NW 23 (whenever the hell they get around to it) I expect to see what TBS showed minus half the footage since it doesn't fit into their little format. I'd be pissed if they edited that even further to re-add what was already shown in ANW's Part 7-8 because they'd have to edit 23 even further to fit them in - provided they are staying with the 5 part halfhour-we-need-to-rehash-everything format
