So I'm getting ready to build this but I can't decide on how wide the boards are. I've watched a bunch of the runs from the HD recording, and I'm leaning towards 2 feet. I think it might be a little wider but not by much, and if I keep it to 2 feet I can just cut a 4 foot board in half. I think the gap is around 1.5 feet and the board length is around 5 feet, but I'm planning on making the gap 3 feet and the boards 6 feet. So, what's the word?

It's Unstable BTW Board length and width I agree, the gap I feel is shorter than we think, Rich just missed because he didn't know how to attack it, Brian and Yuuji failed because of the final gap, which I think is crucial. Another thing, even though you're talking about the specs here, what are you using to not only hold yourself up and the boards, but make the boards unstable?

Oh, Unstable, no wonder it didn't come up with anything when I searched it haha. To hold the boards up I'm using some 250lb-test rope and bolts with the circle on top of them (forget what they're called).

No idea on any of this...never even really thought about it honestly. Nevertheless, these do sound fairly reasonable. If you still aren't that sure, you should try to set up a similar camera angle/distance of it that it had in Sasuke 23 and use this to approximate the Unstable Bridge's specs better. Other than that, I can't really help you that much since I don't have anything resembling it and definitely haven't replicated it...yet. Also, do you have an idea as to exactly how thick the wood should be? That might be pretty important.

You also need the right length of chain/rope or whtever is holding it up. That can drastically change how much you can swing them. For instance, a longer chain would allow you to swing further, making the gap in the middle a lot easier.

LOL!!!!!!!!! aww man.. did you get hurt? Not really, I got the wind knocked out of me and hit my elbow, but it didn't hurt long. It could have been real bad though. There was a garden tool that tills the ground, as well as a big piece of glass, like 6 inches from my head! haha

Ick.. makes for great pics of "doooooh".. but glad you weren't hurt! Definitely could have been a whole lot worse. now you wonder what wood they used for Sasuke... It supported a bunch of weight and flexed..

I'm sure they used plywood on Sasuke. I tried particle board because it's lighter and cheaper, but it breaks as you can see haha. I thought 3/4 might be a little more sturdy but no. So I'll be switching to plywood, and that definitely will not break.

Ouch. I fell recently after my pipe slider obstacle broke. Fell 8 feet onto concrete and landed onto my head. Hurts like a b****!
Obstacle looks good though... ha ha.

Maybe it's just cause my ropes are shorter so it's harder to get a swing, but it's a time killer. I think my gap is around the same as the actual obstacle (mine's 34inch), and it's kinda scary to look at haha.
