Hmm I'm not sure whether this should be a poll or not. I was just wondering who is the strongest all star in terms of physical strength, like how much can they lift. I think it would be a toss up between Nagano, Akiyama and Yamada but honestly I have not watched enough tournaments in full to give a valid opinion. So who can lift the most?
Also if you know any non all stars who you would say are stronger you can mention them too. I think Paul Terek and Jordan Jotchev(sp?) would give the all-stars a good run for their money in terms of physical strength.

I have no clue whatsoever, though I think that ironically the All-Stars wouldn't be as good at lifting as you would think---I doubt that they spend close to as much time doing this as they do for practicing Sasuke-related obstacles. They are probably still relatively good lifters, though I would assume that others would most likely be better. Possible example: Koji Yamada. After all, G4 usually shows him lifting weights when showing his profile.

I'd assume Yamada.

I agree, Takeda, Yamamoto, and Shiritori are not on my list. Akiyama and Nagano could be but i will still say Yamada

I think it depends on which lift we're talking about. I see Shingo squatting a decent amount.

In some of the earlier tournaments they show clips of Shingo doing weight exercises, pull-ups on his cliffhanger at the service station, and one-arm push-ups. I think he's pretty strong, but I'd say Yamada is probably the strongest.

I guess Takeda and Nagano are the guys who can hang from their arms the easiest. But pure muscle would be Yamada. I see Shingo squatting a decent amount. Where's rider when you need him, to say "I didn't know it was that kind of question XD"?

Kind of hard to say. I mean do you mean relative strength compared to body weight or strength in lifting? I see Shingo squatting a decent amount. Where's rider when you need him, to say "I didn't know it was that kind of question XD"? Nah... there I'd probably say "Well why are you watching him do that!? "

Strength is strength. This is about whoever lifts the most.

I pick Akiyama. Having seen them do arm wrestling competitions with each other in festivals and seeing them do other strength related things.. Akiyama is still tied with Nagano with this. Yamada is a close 3rd with Takeda a close 4th and Bunpei and Yamamoto being a distant 5th and 6th.

Strongest all star to me is Nagano. As for semi-all stars, I'd say Kane Kosugi and Paul Terek are even stronger than Nagano.

Paul Terek is, definitely. I don't know about Kane (as in I don't know, not I doubt it).
Nagano certainly is strong, though. I'm not even talking about his performances on Sasuke. The fact that he can hold the human flag on a rope is just... impressive.

Well by strength what do we mean? Because there are body builder who can lift hundreds upon hundreds of pounds but can't even do 1 pullup.

In that case it might be Takeda. Firefighters have to be able to lift a lot. My younger sister wants to be a firefighter/paramedic and was told that as a female firefighter she would have to be able to lift 125 lbs by herself and 250 lbs with help. It's probably even more for men, so Takeda can probably lift quite a bit.

In terms of upper body strength I'm going to say Yamada. Followed by Nagano, then Akiyama, then Takeda, then Yamamoto, then (somewhere distantly beyond that)Shiratori.

Those body builders are too weak to do pull-ups and, frankly, suck. The best body builders do tons of pull-ups because pull-ups make your lats asplode.
But that ties into what I said before: which exercise are we talking about? Yamada probably wins at benching, but Takeda probably deadlifts more.

Hmmm if going with dead lifts.. can you use the Wall Lift as an example? Nagano is by far the best at this and never has any issues. Takeda falters a bit when he gets to the last wall. We already know about Yamamoto

I mean like who can lift the most. Not pull-ups or hanging or anything like that It's still considered strength. Arsenette: What about Yamada, I don't recall him ever struggling and he generally showed off holding the last wall up with 1 hand.

Doing one weighted pull-up would be considered strength. More than one rep starting becoming endurance. So, it would be "who can do a pull-up with the most weight around his waist?".
But that was LONG ago when the walls were lighter.
And no, the Wall Lift is not an example of a dead lift. It's a clean and press if anything.
