Select one of each. They're really the only two guys names that I hear common differences in pronunciation. There's the way we hear it all the time on Japanese tv and then on G4. There's no right or wrong, just what do you find your self calling Takeda and Yamada?

What's even funnier is if you write out the way G4 says it, it literally is "Duh" lol like a compliment to their intelligence.
Thanks for the supposed correction, but why don't you actually vote or say what you feel?

because the option i want isn't up there.
And I did say what I felt =o
The pronunciations are a lot like spanish. Though maybe I typed it out wrong... ionno. I just know how to say it in real life, which is the most important part. lol
I know A's are like... ahhh. Like what doctors tell you do when you open your mouth.

because the option i want isn't up there. The question wasn't how you spell their names, you either pronounce it one way or the other.

I pronounce them the "American" way even though I know it's wrong But, the correct pronounciations are: Taw-kay-da and Yah-ma-da.

Actually that is not the correct way they say their own names.. Unless you are picking between these mispronunciations?

Actually that is not the correct way they say their own names.. Unless you are picking between these mispronunciations? Really?? I thought it was just like Spanish but instead with a small accent on the first syllable.

That's not any spanish I've ever heard TAH (with a small accent on the first word) KEH (not Kay...) DAH (not Duh). What I found amusing though (to keep it in context and yes for someone who doesn't speak Spanish it's actually a little weird to pronounce it correctly) I was watching recently the G$ version of Sasuke 22 where you had Levi visit Toshihiro in Gifu. I remember him walking up to him and saying "TUH KAY DUH" .. not to be a smack.. but that's what he said. Takeda immediately looked to the translator to wonder WTF he was saying.. Not even HE knows he's being addressed.. ahahahahhahaha I've seen it a few times. Usually coming from Levi.. and each time Takeda just glosses over the fact that it's HIM they are attempting to address..

Choices #2 and #4---I know, I've been brainwashed by G4's pronunciations.

Not too distant from what you actually hear now is it?

Kinda is distant. I mean, Ya-MIH-da could spell Yamida or Yameda.

The way I mispronounce Yamada is actually normal though.. I put the accent in the wrong place.. I put it "Yah MAH Dah".. when it's actually "YAH Mah dah".. at least he knows someone is addressing him though. Same with NAH Kah Tah.. that one for some reason throws me off because of the G4 mispronunciation... though I know for a fact.. Daisuke HATES when people mispronounce his name. He will take the time to make sure someone pronounces it correctly (as my friend found out LOL). So I was right on my pronunciation Arsenette? =D I only took 2 years of spanish, lol. LOL Yeah though at this point.. even listening to the G4 broadcast.. they say his name a LOT.. so if anyone can't hear it directly from the announcer at this point.. I don't know what to tell ya.

You mean you put the emphasis in the wrong place. Not the accent.
Technically, you're still wrong because the Japanese language has no emphasis. We always put emphasis on a syllable but they don't. That's what they refer to as the "American accent" when we speak Japanese, even if it's fluent.
Anyway, I pronounce it the G4 ways, even though I'm sure they're wrong.
I want to say in some Sasukes I've heard the announcer say "Yah-mid-dah".

First off, emphasis in the wrong place is usually what bugs me about how Dave Wittenberg says names. You may be right about Japan having close to no emphasis on the syllables, they obviously say them faster and more fluent (That's kind of what made me spell Mr. Sasuke as Yamida, say it fast and you have the way the announcers may say it.) That's what would help Wittenberg not sound so foolish, having no emphasis on syllables.

Ack, You're right, Arsenette, I didn't give the correct pronunciations. I was trying to spell them so that everyone could understand it. But I do know how to really pronounce them... honestly... Oh God Arsenette, you HAVE to believe me. PLEASE believe me, I know what I'm talking about. I'm not stupid, really, really, really. Oh please, you just HAVE to believe me I'm done.
