Forgot to mention this yesterday, but they also made an announcement of it during AOTS so this is a sure thing then.

I'm confused though.. didn't we already know that ANW was on the 12th and Sasuke 23 on the 19th?

They'll probably get around to it in March 2010. I'm already calling a 2011 airdate for Kunoichi 8. The sad thing is, I'm only half joking.

Depressing really that even that half joke is half true.. /sigh.. One positive thing for ANW was that December 19th was supposed to be the tournament itself but they now extended ANW to 4 hours. meaning if they do half hour shows there are 8 of them. Either way. It seems they are doing only top 30? (Meaning they are only showing clips of the prelims if any and then straight to day 3).

I'm starting to question if TBS even released the tapes yet. JET TV doesn't have it either.. WTF is going on?

I'm starting to question if TBS even released the tapes yet. JET TV doesn't have it either.. WTF is going on? I've always kept it in the back of my mind that G4 was going to show ONLY the Americans competing in Sasuke. The person who made it the furthest out of the 10, in this case Levi, would be crowned the first "American Ninja Warrior." So the trials would be the 12th and the competition would be the 19th. Although I don't really think this will happen, this actually makes sense considering the way G4 is marketing ANW.

Well originally it was supposed to be the 19th for the tourney but now that's changed. It seems Part 1 of ANW is the 12th and it "continues" the following weekend to the 19th. They haven't mentioned at all the tournament itself they are supposedly trying to enter...
As for G4 only showing the Americans.. I expected that to begin with but that would be outright foolish to delete the other 90 competitors to only show them. Considering even the format for Sasuke 1-22 (roughly of course) they had 5 or so episodes not including the behind the scenes. The only thing I can think of is that they are putting the tourney on the 19th AFTER ANW.. which would be around 8pm'ish. But there isn't anything printed anywhere for us to confirm or deny that.

Btw.. I'm laughing at G4's attempt to rewrite history:
Ninja Warrior premiered on G4 back in 2006, but American Ninja Warrior represents the first time Americans have had a chance to tackle the infamous obstacle course, Mount Midoriyama.

Could it be perhaps that SASUKE 23 airs at 8pm?

Could it be perhaps that SASUKE 23 airs at 8pm? Possible.. but without seeing the schedule for that day (or a "ninjafest" announcement) we just don't know. I've already checked their site and they don't have anything past the 7th of December on their schedule.

That's not the only wording they have wrong.
Naturally, the National Guard is Ryan, dunno about the Deputy DA... but the Radio Station guy instead beat a local competition they were holding, as the prize was a ticket into the ANW competition.

I just set my DVR to record ANW and saw how the first 4 episodes are broken down. "First wave prelims", "Second wave prelims", "Final wave prelims", "First half semis".
