That's really upsetting news because he had beaten stage 1 three times now. 17, 21, 22, 23... Am I REALLY that bad at math and that IS three? XD But that sucks he won't be competing, I guess such short notice pretty much screwed up BOTH JET and G4

Yeah, that is pretty awful. Lee is one of the (debatably) more consistent performers in these few tournaments... lol, and I think I lot of people aren't that aware of him being in 17.

Well out of 5 runs, he's only failed stage 1 once out of those (18), 17 and 23 was the metal spin, and 21 was timing out on the Wall Lifting, and we all remember the shin cliffhanger in 22

Who the hell wouldn't know he competed and passed in 17? They show it practically every time they introduce him. Little did I expect someone would be so critical as to specify that I didn't say Lee beat the first stage 3 CONSISTENT times.

sorry to interrupt the fun, lee's blog basically says: 2009/11/30, 22:36: " My participation depends entirely on JET. JET has the final say. I have no say in it. I am leaving it entirely to fate ( stoic )" 2009/12/01, 15:57: "Oh Oh...still waiting for invitation. No invite means I can't go ( apparently he still have not got the invitation yet ) hope i did not screw up the translation ( it is my english grammar i worry about ) Let us all hope he goes. Sasuke is VERY popular in Taiwan. Taiwanese fans call him the "the pride of Taiwan" ( nickname ). JET is crazy if they don't invite him. Regards

Thanks! Google translation was so waaaaay off but I got a general gist.. I adore that he uses the emoticons so at least I got the gist when he said JET then put a crying icon. Just so depressing.

It's almost 6 days left. I messaged Lee again and he put a crying icon .. he's pretty upset he hasn't been contacted by JET to participate Do you message him in English or use a translator? I'd like to talk to him cause he's one of my favorite competitors.

So from what it seems like, no foreignors what so ever.
No americans that we know of. Cept apparently G4 is sending SOMEBODY. I talked to levi on facebook and he said he couldn't say ANYTHING.
But god I mean, all i wanted to know was HOW they were picked. Would G4 really be mad at him if he told me that? It's not like I asked who was going...
bleh.

I'd like to talk to him cause he's one of my favorite competitors. It's all on his page I didn't private message him.. just left messages under the topics he started. I wrote it in English since I don't know Chinese either and I reaaaaaaally don't trust Google these days. He responds in Chinese which is fine with me since I believe we both use software translation to understand what each of us are writing. I try my best to use as simple of a sentence as possible in hopes the words don't come out wrong when translated.

arsenette, thanks for the link to Lee's blog. still no news till now. Some nit-picking details: 1. His name is Lee En Chi in Chinese ( Lee is his surname, En is pronouced "urn" as in turn without the T-sound , Chi is pronounced "chh" ). But Lee Yen Chi will also be fine . He doesn't mind and English speakers can call him Nick. 2. He states in his blog he is a sagittarus so that makes him born in the year 1974 ( i deduce ) & NOT 1975 as in sasukepedia. 3. I can't find where he says that Yamada Koji has officially "quit" sasuke. All I found was Lee states that Koji told him personally that Koji doesn't really like taking part in sasuke competitions & has no wish to take part actually but he often relents when organisers fervently persuade him to participate. So Koji's participation really depends on how persuasive M9/TBS is. YES I ADMIT there is almost no difference whatever BUT this means Koji's fans still has a TINY ray of hope for his return. yeah, yeah, i am nit-picking at pointless details. Sorry & Regards to all.

Thanks awee!! I find it interesting about "nick" I wonder where it comes from (especially since his blog blame IS nick). Guess it's almost as bad as my nickname being Elsie.. LOL It's not even close.. Heck if had someone to help me translate completely from Chinese I'd ask him for a blog interview

arsenette, it is common for us Chinese to have english names ( i don't but many do ). Why Nick? ask him in addition, I suspect ( NO PROOF ) that he is a Christian ( i have nothing against christians don't get me wrong, i just want to say i don't know for sure ). Why? Well, his middle name 'En' is often used by christian chinese in naming their children. It is a common name for girls but seldom used for naming boys ( with the exception of christians )

Elsie??? LOL! Sorry to disappoint you but...
I am afraid i am unable to help you as my computer cannot type chinese, only english. I use english ( international language ) in my work. Besides you already know i have to return the computer to my clients when the project ends on 31-December 2009. I will be computer-less & will be using internet cafes from next year.
I can only help you in translating parts of his blog if you really want to ( only for december ). From january i will be busy looking for accomodation & employment so do forgive me ( I believe i told you about my circumstances previously ). BEST REGARDS
PS: Lee says he wish he had the Ninja Outfit in the G4 DVD cover. Hahaha! He is a over-aged' Kid!

LOL the Ninja Outfit I'll wait a while to see what I can do. I'm not sure I can directly email him.. if I can get someone to translate exactly what he says back it might work. I'd like one in reverse to make sure he knows the questions but that will be a long process and a hard one. I know I had a bear of a time getting the Nagasawa one (he still has the questions lol) but in the end it will be worth it. Had no idea about the "En" part. That's cool. So many different meanings (even if some are inane like bamboo field = Takeda) to names in asian languages. We get crappy stuff like Shaniqua because it sounds cool but has no meaning. I like names with meanings.. Yeah I remember that conversation about the computer and what that ties into Hang in there. Anyway before we commandeer more of the thread LOL Still waiting to hear if he's going or not.

"En" means gratitude / thanks, thus often used by christians ( ie. Thanks to The Lord ). The "Makoto" character means " sincere " in chinese ( PS: quite apt IMO, i am sure you will agree ) but check with Ube for Japanese meaning. Takeda = bamboo farm in Chinese but it is just a surname. Toshihiro = smart & clear in chinese but check with Ube.
Chinese & Japanese share many similar characters ( BUT NOT ALL ), a little like western languages sharing a~z. Most Chinese / Korean / Japanese give their children names with meanings ( again another example is the ahem "Kaiou" hahaha )

Would his name have been Lee Chi at one point before he got "En" christian gratitude?
I agree with you for the most part that En is a middle name, I was skeptical about "Enchi" so he is, no, not Lee Yen Chi.. Lee En Chi.

VenusHeadTrap,
Chinese names are a surname followed by 1 word ( eg. Yao Ming with Yao as the surname & Ming as the name ) OR 2 words eg. Lee En Chi. However the 2 words are in theory to be used together, thus BOTH Lee En Chi or Lee Enchi are technically correct! Sorry if i caused unnecessary confusion as I only used En Chi to help show the pronouncation.
