Interesting thought... right around now Nagano is probably running the first stage. No. By the time you posted that the first stage should have been done finishing a while ago

Lol, that would be really ironic if Levi failed the Spider Flip. BTW, I wonder if Levi's back-flip is enough to clear the Spider Flip jump........

Bad news guys. Nagano didn't compete! (Picture is in spoilers because it contains SASUKE 23 info) See! It says on Wikipedia! It must be true! Edit: AND LOOK WHO IT IS.

People, the reason why Nagano didn't win 23 was because he was wearing Takeda's fire rescue shirt. It weakened his awesomeness just slightly(No offense to Takeda). Had he worn his normal tank top, he'd have won. If he doesn't trade clothes with anyone in 24, then he will win.

Lulz.. XD
Anyways, I think the real reason Nagano failed the Final Stage in 23 was he wasn't taking the 40 second time limit as seriously as he would have taken a 30 second time limit. Look at his speed as he was climbing the rope, Now compare it to how fast he was climbing the rope in 17 and in his Final Stage runs before 17 (Particularly 12). Had he been going at that speed he would have gotten Kanzenseiha with time to spare.

The reason why his speed was slower was because his hand climbed the rope 3 times instead of 2 times.
In SASUKE 17, you can see that he climbs with his hands 2 times then pulls his body and legs up. He repeats this motion to get maximum speed up the tower.
Now, in SASUKE 23, for first 8 seconds or so, he did it three times. Notice that his third hand climb on each of his pulls does not give him a lot of distance, as his arms are already stretched out. His speed gets faster towards the top of the tower where he changes the method, but alas, he realized it late.
Maybe he thought that it was slightly easy because of the 40 seconds limit. But whatever he had mentally, his physical mistakes were shown in the final stage.

I know some people don't believe this but I truly believe if he didn't have to do the dang 1st stage practically twice and have to go through the emotionally draining process of having to be "in the moment".. twice.. I think he would have had the mental energy to win it this time.

Well he had his first stage run, 45 minutes later, 1st Stage again, All the time between ending the first stage and setting up the second stage and then 16 competitors running, 9 of which clearing, THEN his second stage run, then between stage 2 ending and setting up stage 3 and having 9 people run (alot of which making it far into the course) THEN having his run, And then all the time to set up the final stage AND Kannos run. He had plenty of time to rest, so it probably didn't make that big of an impact having to run it twice.

I think he went through what happened to me in a couple fencing competitions. Even if the main part of the competition was coming, if something wrong (ex. a referee screwed up, or my weapon didn't work properly) happened before, I simply wanted all that to end so I could go home. It's not about the body, but the mind.
