That's not true at all, actually. The 4 hour format started with Sasuke 20, it used to be 3 hours. It's theorised that the extra length has contributed to lower ratings. fix'd

Idk what Joe's talkin about. Like a 4 1/2 hour to 5 hour sasuke woulda been great for this. but if it had the same results as 22, then a 3hr broadcast would have been perfect.

The problem with that is that TBS assigns them a time and leangth before the course is ever ran. 19's was not short by design, they just kinda lucked out. 23's was extra long again, not by design, but by luck, imagine if they decided to make 23 3 hours instead of 4? YUCK! Or add another hour to 19? Double YUCK!

Have you ever heard people complain about how baseball games are too long? I have the same issue with Sasuke. There's not enough there to continually hold my interest for four hours. At some point, it becomes stale and repetitive, and the interesting bits become much less so. The key to any good TV show is pacing, and when a supposedly brisk show starts to drag, it's going to hurt the product.
Here's an idea: use a ticker like US TV does for golf or the draft, and list all the results from there, airing only the fun bits. It gives you all what you want and probably keeps everything under 3 hours. Everybody wins!

Some of the filler in the stages after the first goes on for way too long. Also, there's no need to show someone do two or three obstacles, cut to commercial, then show it again. Just cut to commercial before they start.

But even a 4 hour long broadcast of Sasuke just seems to fly by. Really, before I knew it, it was over. And I enjoyed EVERY second of it. Except for the 5-10 minutes where my internet died and I missed most of stage 2, but that's besides the point.

Agreed, even if it was 4 hours I LOVED them, it was like 4 minutes to me.
