On ANW I think the three who cleared should get sent back with 5/6 trial spots. And I just had an idea it could be like another hyper variety week with sasuke around 28/29 December and sportsman no 1 3/4 of January I was thinkin the same thing Like Sasuke on the 28-30 then Sportsman on like the 1st-3rd

Unless they are doing this in lieu of Sportsman. Which would suck. And this probably means no Geinojin Sportsman.

i think Levi might be back by TBS He cleared stage one it's only fair TBS invites him back by that alone, and of the americans they should also give Brian and Richard a free pass for passing stage 1

So in all likelihood, with 3 Sasukes this year......there'll only be one next year. But hey - new tourney in December! That's pretty freakin cool. And I bet it airs BEFORE G4 airs 23. Thanks Ube! And I agree, Brian and Richard should be invited back, though G4 won't agree.

Also remember that 2010 is Winter Olympics season. That's in March which will spell disaster for any ratings since that is Olympics month. Incorrect. The dates are February 12-28. You may have some of the scripted series moved around, but that's only a couple of episodes. This is definitely a momentum move. Ratings were only 14.1 (compare to 14.7 in the spring) and the last time they went 3-in-a-year, the December episode was the worst-rated, but there's definitely more to look for in 24 than there was in 16.

Indeed. IMO, Sasuke keeps getting better and better every tournament! ;D ;D ;D

Don't expect the trend to continue, eventually the rate of success reaches a point and then drops off and the cycle starts again.

Well (and this is the Sasuke 23 thread, so I can post spoilers), I honestly think that the Sasuke 24 is going to be huge.
Nagano is on a rebound, Takeda is inching along toward a stage 3 victory, Kanno and Yuuji are kicking/hauling a**, and Levi has been training his a** off on the Cliffhanger. Shingo proved he can still get to stage 3, Brian O made it back to the second stage, and David Campbell has high chances of making it again (I've been praying for ya buddy!), which I expect him to rival Levi on the course. If Levi can beat the cliffhanger, and David definitely can, then I expect this upcoming tournament to be incredible.
Just imagine (At very least, possibly further than this:) Nagano, Yuuji, Kanno, and possibly Takeda on the final stage. David C. and Levi potentially beating the cliffhanger, if not joining the final stage. Brian O and Shingo in stage 3.
And to top it off... TBS hinting they want another winner? Sounds like (to me anyway, you know how I rant...) they are going to 'set up the pins' so 'someone can knock them down easily'. Hey, they did it with (Oops, spoiler) *something else*, and this is a 3rd tournament in a year, so it all kinda fits.

Also remember that 2010 is Winter Olympics season.I'm going to say this is the most logical point made. Scheduling Sasuke 24 against the Winter Olympics could be disastrous. This is ESPECIALLY true if they aired at the same time another channel showed a Japanese athelete winning a gold model... not only do you get the loss of ratings, you'd get backlash of "disappointment", and it'd be awkward to invite that gold medalist to participate in Sasuke 25 (inviting Japanese Olympic gold medalists is a recurring theme in Sasuke, after all). And to top it off... TBS hinting they want another winner? Sounds like (to me anyway, you know how I rant...) they are going to 'set up the pins' so 'someone can knock them down easily'. Hey, they did it with (Oops, spoiler) * something else*, and this is a 3rd tournament in a year, so it all kinda fits. It will be interesting to see if this tournament has more of a Sasuke 13-ish "let's leave the course mostly alone and see if we can get a winner before a big redesign" or a 14-ish "that was almost a win, let's ratchet up the difficulty a bit" attitude. Seems uncleman thinks it'll be more like 13 was... or maybe not. The LAST thing anyone wants is that * something else*

I emailed M9 but let's see if they say anything. I asked if Sportsman is also coming back and if the deadline or actual tournament is in December since it's not entirely clear. As for the Olympics thing. I expect Figure Skating to be their best shot in medaling again (the last time it was their ONLY Medal) so I expect a lot will be made this time around. So yeah having Sasuke in the middle of that is just disastrous.

Winter Olympics are in February. No SASUKE has been held in February. December and January, yes. But never February.
By this token though, they would also want to avoid having it in June since 2010 is a World Cup year.
By the way, sports events such as the Olympics and the World Cup are not handled by one network. All the major networks get a piece of the broadcasting pie.

Eh.. true.. it's in Late February. Usually it so engrosses everything else it's all screwed up with specials and crap going into the following month which is why I mentioned it. Especially if someone from Japan won Did not know about the World Cup though.. I'm sure they will be hopscotching around the schedule depending on what TBS has open on their lineup. Could be that TBS is filled for March, 2010 with specials and crap.

Japan is a BIG football nation and they are in the WC this summer, so having SASUKE in the summer would be foolish. But they haven't done that since #15 when Bunpei had heat stroke, so I doubt tey'd go there again.
By the way, I don't understand the logic of holding another SASUKE in December so someone can achieve total victory as some have stated here. Even if M9/TBS were winding down the show, how can they know if and when someone will beat he final stage. Now that they have knocked of 2 seconds, does that really tell you they want someone to win? Nope...

World Cup doesn't happen until the summer, and qualifying has been going on all year.

Call me a pessimist, but I can't help but think that this means they might want to... bring it to a close I sincerely hope this isn't the case, or my training will be for nothing. I must compete, but this December is too early >.<
