Downloaded it and watched most of it and I must say, it wasn't that great. I don't know what I was expecting, but it just wasn't that great. I don't think it's because they're women, the course now has a Viking-esque format or anything else I could list here. I just didn't enjoy it.
Thoughts?

Agreed. Outside of my giddiness watching Nagano's wife and the All-Stars I thought the competition was lackluster, too campy and specifically created as a vehicle to showcase the Muscle Musical girls. Personally I'd take the old Kunoichi back.

This could work in this format, however it needs A LOT of tweaking to make it harder. More obstacles on the first stage would work, all were failed, but only two had consistent failures which is anticlimatic to me. Not to mention the most lenient final stage time EVER. That final stage wasn't even that bad, it just had a stupid time limit. 35 (or 30 if you want a real test) seconds would've been great for it, they either underestimated who would make it there, or they wanted a champion.
If there is a Kunoichi 9, this new reboot with harder obstacles would be great but I wouldn't mind going back to one at a time either. Though I doubt a return because of two winners in one tournament (mostly their fault) and five overall between three people.

It was better than I thought it was going to be, but I still much prefer the old format. The second stage was difficult but with too much time, the first stage was easy, and the third was just a joke.

They obviously wanted a champion making it so 2 people pass stage 1 during one run (or if everyone fails they give another challenge to get one person into stage 2) so they pretty much guarenteed they wanted a 35 person second stage.. Stage 2 was the good stage because it actually was Kunoichi... Stage 3 was the most boring to watch. The final had the time too long.. Not to mention the final being set up and then taken apart somewhere in the day and making over half the climb being the supports for the rock walls. And I've only seen Komiya's run due to the tvants recording, but looks like she seriously had trouble transfering to the second rock wall yet still won. And I've still heard about the 21 seconds left kanzenseiha and I heard the other girl only lost to a course out... So yeah.. Kunoichi 9 better actually be Kunoichi...
And damn it.. they got the clear music in my head for playing it so much and no one has any damn clue what the hell it is! XD

Yeah it was severly flawed, I didn't mind two automatic bids but yeah weird to watch. If they don't make it one at a time, that first stage would be more effective, although I would just prefer a harder stage next time.
And does anyone know WHY they removed the first three walls? Longer rungs don't make for a harder climb, unless the rungs are a considerable distance away, which they weren't because that wasn't their original practical use.

Ok, good. Glad to know I'm not the only sad one.
Come on, guys. Let's go get some razors and sit in the corner cutting ourselves. I'll bring Linkin Park's new CD!

Honestly, everything that could go wrong with any Sasuke/Kunoichi tournament went wrong here.
They went "VS" again, only way worse. (Like Kunoichi 6)
Not enough new obstacles
What was Stage 3? (Fail)
Stage 4 was over timed. (Like Sasuke 22)
The only bad thing Monster 9 didn't do is have any malfunctioning obstacles.
But overall, horrific. /cutcutcut I honestly don't believe Rie is satisfied with her win.

I didn't care for the vs. too much. Though they should have made it harder and more entertaining to watch 4 people race through it. The time doesn't need to be shorter since it IS more like a race against each other than the clock.
The Second stage was good except the length of the time. Meaning they should have split the course in two (2nd and 3rd stage) and add a couple obstacles to each half.
THEN either extend the height of the final stage, or cut the freaking time in half.
Though with two people beating the final stage, and if the do another one. I'm sure we will see a big difference in some shape or form.

No thanks. I'm pretty sure they don't care about 100 or so people here who want to whine about Kunoichi.

Hey considering that a huge email campaign got Kunoichi back.. I don't see why they wouldn't listen to criticism. Will anything change? Dunno they keep surprising me!

Am I the only one here that found the VS. part in the first stage a bit entertaining?

I liked it, they just need to tweak it a little.

I'm not normally one for "OMZ YOU RUINED MY LIFE. MAKE IT BETTER PLEASE TELEVISION." emails, but Monster 9 appear to ocassionally listen to the fans.

Am I the only one here that found the VS. part in the first stage a bit entertaining? The problem was it was the only thing a bit entertaining. Had they made the Sponge Bridge its own stage instead of the vault, then there may have been something, but the Stage 2 pace as-is was slow and the falderal everywhere else made for a very lacking experience.
