The irony of the Salmon Ladder failure. Isn't one of the skills of freerunning and the reason he said he got to stage 3 in 20 was adaptability? XD

I actually thought that the first one was weird. The one off the warped wall could have been practical. Here's what Levi could have been thinking: "Well, I'm going to try to run the wall in one go. Uh-oh. I'm not gonna make it. Is there a way to get down faster rather than falling down. I know! I'll do a back flip off the wall and get a cleaner landing!"
The roll I feel is the absolute best way to get up that ledge, but at first, it seemed awkward watching because of what he already did. It's a good thing he got the best time, because if he failed, he would have been blasted for showboating for sure.
The funny thing is, right after Sasuke, I had a class that taught us about dealing with different cultures and how different people can handle the same things differently. Convient timing, if I don't say so myself.

He has the right to be arrogant if he wants to, so why complain?
He should have the right to do whatever he wants without fear of judgement by others.

I love Levi, he is my boy...But when I compare his run and Nagano's...Nagano wins! I like the more humble run...We already know Levi can flip. No need in making the other competitiors look bad. XP BlackieChan! Good to see you here. Thanks man, I like this forum better!!!

He has the right to be arrogant if he wants to, so why complain? He should have the right to do whatever he wants without fear of judgement by others. That's complete BS. It's in the nature of the human brain to be judgmental, if only unconsciously. Since someone solicited our thoughts about Levi's run, we respond with our formed opinions. It leads to interesting reading. What's wrong with that? In any case, if everyone followed your guidelines, the world would immediately descend into anarchy.

I've talked to Levi, he seems like a really nice guy and someone who wouldn't just show off like that. I still think G4 or TBS asked him to do that but regardless, anyone can do what they want as long as it's appropriate in my opinion!

All I can say on that is that if the day ever comes that I can participate on the course, I'll be very vocal on it with alot of battle cries, grunts and such to keep my nerves from getting so tense on the course.
With what Levi did, it's probably his own way of calming down his own nerves, so I don't really have anything bad to say about it. We all have our own way of trying to calm down before certain stressful events, much like Nagano with his back slap before hitting the course and letting out a little yell before the start.

There's a few ways I've looked at it:
1. Maybe he knew he had a lot to live up to because he went the furthest in Sasuke 20...in that case he'd be nervous and afraid of disappointing. The flips produce cheers, which boosts confidence.
2. Maybe he was showing off. Big deal. If I could do what he can do, I'd be showing off 24/7.
3. It's possible that G4 and/or TBS requested that he be classy. They were hyping him throughout the show and even put him second to last. Maybe the network wanted him to deliver.
4. He claims he was just having fun, I could totally see that.
I enjoyed his run. I thought it was brilliant and when they showed the looks on everyones faces it was really inspiring. It made me want to go out and free run until I realized I would be a pathetic freerunner. Haha.

This is no big mystery, he's a freerunner, and that's what freerunners do... Look up the difference between Parkour and freerunning... Freerunning is known for flips and flair, making it look good... That's what those guys do, that's what they enjoy...
Anyway, Levi will be the next all-star and is already assured a spot in Sasuke for life... I am glad they gave him #99! Sucks he got over excited on the salmon ladder and lost it...

Regardless of his flips on the first stage, he was overconfident and paid the price on the Salmon Ladder. Hopefully he learned something from this experience.

I think part of the reason Levi did what he did was because the 1st Stage was completely unchanged. He knew the course and already knew what he could and couldn't do. Had the obstacles been significantly different, he might have done something but nearly as much as what he ended up doing.

I let my judgement get clouded bby others. once others started saying he was arrogant I started to see it to, but that wasn't my honest opinion.
His flips were excessive, but people need to get over it, maybe he wasn't thinking.
And guys come on, nobody is perfect, give the guy a break.
Nagano isn't perfect either, remember when we saw him smoking, everyone jumped onto him to, but are oyu going to hate him forever?
Naw, same with levi, he's still humble, maybe he's more cocky now since he knows he can do it, but you have to admit he's an amazing athelete and an inspiration to us all.
People blew it way out of proportion, Levi is Levi, this is what he does.
Hope he comes back for Sasuke 22.

Hope he comes back for Sasuke 22. Is there really any doubt in your mind that he won't be back in the spring? Levi is going to be at every Sasuke for the next several years unless he gets injured or something... Regardless of what happens with ANC, G4, or anything else, Levi is loved by TBS, Sasuke, the all-stars and the Japanese people... He was #99, nuff said!

But I wonder if he has changed people's minds after his #21 performance. He knew what he was doing and was showboating. Even his comments after his run and before his 2nd stage run were arrogant. I didn't feel bad when he fell on teh Salmon Ladder. BUt we all make mistakes, so I hope he has learned from this and comes back next time without the flips.

G4 hasn't been consistent in invitations to Sasuke in the 3 times they did this. So we don't know.. if they threw Brian back in the voting pool they might throw Levi back in there.. who knows... I get a migraine trying to figure wtf G4 is doing behind closed doors.

I get a migraine trying to figure wtf G4 is doing behind closed doors. G4 has no control over Levi going to Sasuke... Levi is effectively an all-star of TBS... He was #99... If G4 said "Levi isn't going", then TBS would say, "Yes he is, none of your other crappy competitors are coming"... They love Levi... If it weren't for him, no one would have made it to the 3rd stage in 20... And he got all the way to the shin cliffhanger... He's the man, he's there to stay...

LOL funny how you speak about TBS as if you know them Fact of the matter is ... G4 still owns ANC and they have a direct say as to who goes and who doesn't. Ask Colin bell about it sometime.

What do you mean by that Arsenette?
You mean when they re-sent Brett but not Colin?

I meant it as a rhetorical.. (bangs head on wall) Geez you guys take it seriously. I meant that Colin did not get a free ride for a second time. Brian had the same fate and had it not been for the vote he wouldn't have been back either. I think it's just ridiculous they even had to do DO it.. they were friggin' winners of the G4 contest. Levi was a shoe in because of his feat at Sasuke 20. Now he and Brian are tied since they both failed at the exact spot this time around. Colin hasn't even had his second chance. I'm curious as to what they are going to do. It's not like any of them can ask TBS for a reinvite they stil have to go through G4 because of their previous ties to the competition. That goes the same for Mark and Luci now as well. What's going to happen to Brian? We don't know either. G4 doesn't have a consistent track record in terms of deciding what is going to happen. Everything seems to be last minute.
