It's a bit less fatiguing if you keep you arms straight, I think.

Pretty much what arty said. Holding yourself up with bent arms gives you more control and lets you move better, but it takes a lot more energy.

Alright. Because I use(or get close to) the bent arms. It lets you move a lot faster.

I agree. It definitely seems to offer more mobility and control.

It's only a basic trick, just like the standing backflip.

If that's a 'basic trick' i'd love to see a trick.

Yup lots of tricks; i now know what 'tricking' is.
Re-reading this thread, there's a shedload of negativity surrounding these finnish dudes; why is that? Have they been pricks or something?
What, seemingly, must they do to get a compliment? Some of the things in that video were great; weren't those one armed pull ups any good? or was the form bad? or were you simply not impressed. Were you at least - perhaps unconciously - in approval of their 'subjective' skill?
Fill me in, yo.

To some of these guys, if you show a Japanese man doing 5 sit ups, they'll be impressed and shed compliment, but if you show them a Canadian man doing muscle ups while being attacked by tigers... it's meh. Seriously though, the one armed pull ups where crazy.

I was simply replying to the "insane" trick comment. I'm not sure what you mean by all the negativity.

They used too much momentum on their 1 armed pull ups. They are a lot easier that way.
Is it still impressive? hell yes, but only because of his age honestly. A 17 year old can do that? I'm 18 and I'm no where near his level. Then again I wager he probably trains day in and day out, while I fit in to do just a few workouts every week.

I disagree. I don't think many things are impressive these days (been on the internet way too long), but I believe a one-arm pull-up is good, regardless of age.

I'm well aware that there are far more impressive things in the world and i too am not impressed by much, but i just felt there wasn't enough recognition being given to these guys; especially considering that in numerous other threads we praise people for acts and achievments that, in relation to UCH completion and such, are not nearly as impressive.
Oh and he's only good because he trains religiously? That's not very fair.
But hey, each to their own.

You let yourself go, xig. There's always time to train and eat decently. UCH completion is not that impressive either, mikes, but have you considered the context? Some people here can't run a mile. When they post about how they just ran two miles, THAT is impressive. Most people here can't do 10 real pull-ups, either. If an UNCLI member posted a video of that, is that impressive? No. We expect more from them. With that in mind, I'm really not surprised to see this stuff from this kid. I know he's good and I'm glad to see he's still working hard. Doesn't mean I'm going to drop down and worship him. What are you implying with the religiously comment? The people who achieve things are special and different from us? That's hardly the case. Training hard and consistently is the key to attaining most skills, physical or not. In this sense, Bada is right. Anybody on this forum, even Arsenette (love you ) could do one-arm chin-ups if they trained "religiously". Besides that, Bada was just making an excuse as to why he's not on the Fin-kid's level. Stop taking everything so hard. We're not insulting these guys. These dudes are badass, but don't make them out to be super heroes or something. They're normal people who are good, all because they trained to be good. Simple as that. ALSO! I have to point out... those one-arm pull-ups are horrible. He's strong as hell but he doesn't have the strength to do one-arms yet. He uses so much momentum, his chin doesn't get above the bar and he doesn't hold to top position at all before dropping. All signs of a lack of control and thus, strength.
