Want to make it to SASUKE? Well, do you have what it takes to get into the Nippon Sport Science University (日本体育大学)? Take a look at the list of people who have gone to the school over the years (not necessarily graduated though): Daisuke Nakata Hiromichi Sato Yukio Iketani Naoiki Iketani Daisuke Miyazaki Tomohiro Matsunaga Terukazu Ishikawa Hikaru Tanaka Ryuichi Sakawa Yoshiaki Hatakeda Kosuke Yamaguchi I'm pretty sure I'm leaving a couple of people out. Since Yukio Iketani in the 1st SASUKE, there's been someone who went to NSSU on every SASUKE. Oh yeah, and the school has produced a ton of Olympians blah blah blah. www.nittai.ac.jp/

That's really awesome!
For some reason M9 has touroughly featured them since the the very beginning of Banzuke. Didn't some of the target evnts even take place at the Science University?

well, in Banzai 90, NSSU won the event...I've known about NSSU since then, however, I didn't know much other than the name.

Interesting observation, Ube.
I think Nagasaki is taking the slow route to graduation (if he does indeed graduate), but I don't think he'd be considered a freshman.
It might seem Muscle Musical also recruits from NSSU. I read Nagasaki's trampoline colleague, Tetsuya Sotomura, attended NSSU and was in the MM cast for a time.

Cool thanks I only mentioned the freshman thing because of his blog for Sasuke 22 when he mentioned that he was cheering on Kanno since he graduated and he just started. I guess I can assume that his workload is light since he's training so much this time around and is actually away a lot on competitions. Ube thanks for that huge list of the Sasuke people that went to Nippon Sport.

Not to mention tons of Banzuke competitors... But nice find, Knew that some Sasuke/Banzuke competitors came from there but never noticed how many when listed like this. Ryuichi Sakawa Yoshiaki Hatakeda In case anyone doesn't remember them since they're relatively obscure competitors. Ryuichi was in one of the earlier tournaments with the "new" (at the time) second stage, (I think 8 but don't quote me on that), he failed the second part of the Chain Reaction after slipping while trying to land it. Hatakeda is a bit more memorable so you guys should know him. He also was the first person to use the top of the Jump Hang instead of just climbing under. EDIT: Ube, you spelt "Naoki" wrong unless the Japanese characters translate to Naoiki

If that doesn't ring a bell, he was the freakishly tall guy wearing red.

Speaking of Yoshiaki Hatakeda, I was watching the gymanstics Men's all-around final for the World Championships in London today, and they showed the coach of the Japanese team and the commentators said it was Yoshiaki Hatakeda!
