Why on earth is there not a thread on this lad?
Shame on you people! lol
Who would have thought a guy who almost failed the halfpipe attack twice and then the salmon ladder would make such a great recovery and get to the final stage.
I thought it was incredible - his stage 3 run was excellent The only downer was by that point I saw his black shorts and it planted the seed in my head he was the climber in the trailer but even so his clear was still brilliant and that MUSIC WAS PERFECTION anyone know what it was?
As for his Final stage attempt yeah hes not got the right rope climbing skills for the task so ultimatly he timed out a long way from the Goal but even so it was a great run and hes only 22 he has plenty of time to learn how to rope climb well I say watch this guy he to me like Yuuji is a SASUKE champion of the future if ever I saw one!
So wheres the love for this guy?

No one would have thinked that, this is why. This result nearly popped out of nowhere. He did great things, anyway. His double Miyazaki on the HPA and his one-hand recovery on the SL were fantastic, and his tears when he cleared stage 3 were a sign of how much he is devoted to Sasuke.

lol I said pretty much the same thing in a different thread. Like I said, his stage 3 clear was one of the best moments this tourney, either 2nd or 3rd. The music was just perfect, and you could tell he was so happy for beating stage 3. They treated it so much differently than when Nagno completed it. Stage 2 recovery wasn't very surprising because I missed stage 2 and got it spoiled for me, but when I rewatched it it was still pretty amazing only holding on with 1 hand. I'm just glad he didn't get D/Q for touching the wall... The HPA attack on stage 1 was kinda ridiculous lol

Well, I can't say much beacause I haven't seen his third stage run yet. But he and Yuji had impressive recoveries on the first stage, especially on the half-pipe. Surprised they were still able to clear with much time left on the clock.

I was ecstatic that he was able to overcome his fears of the Spider Flip and conquer it. That totally sucked in 22.. And yes.. I do believe that Kanno has a lot of Shingo in it.. it wasn't pretty.. and he left body parts behind.. but he gritted through and managed to beat the obstacles one by one. I swear I was in a roller coaster watching him LOL. But he did take off time from looking for work after college just to prepare for the tournament. I hope he gets a job now.. but still it's great dedication.

Yeah, I could tell when he was resting he was so worried about the Spider Flip climbing up it because his foot accidently went off course and he had to climb up to the side. I mean you could tell during his rest he was hugging the damn thing XD

I like Kanno even more now. He seemed more happy, relaxed, comfortable, and he looked like he was enjoying himself more. He's also shown that he can adapt and recover wherever necessary.

There was a gymnast from a few years back that I really liked. He teaches kids and he just looks like a really happy guy. Don't know what happened to him but I think his name was Masaki Kobayashi. Anyone know what he's been doing lately?

I was amazed at how well Kanno did considering some of the slip-ups he had this tournament like missing the landing on the halfpipe attack twice and falling down two rungs on one side of the Salmon Ladder. But, he's proven he can recover well from mistakes and has great dedication to the course. I didn't think Kanno would do nearly as well as he did last tournament, but he proved me wrong haha. I was just surprised by how slowly he climbed the rope in the final stage. The clips of his rope climbing made me think he would climb a lot faster. I guess the heavenly ladder takes more out of you than I thought.

This is a crazy comparison right here, but there are so many things about Kanno that remind me about Ayako Miyake. Yes the Queen of Kunoichi. He got the hair thing down, he's got the comeback aspect down (Salmon Ladder near fail) He's got the same sort of demeanor as Miyake. He doesn't speak much. He just awws us with how he handles the course.
I think Kanno Hitoshi has the most potential to beat Sasuke in the next tournament, yes even more than Nagano. He's proven himself worthy of being a top competitor. This guy is representing a lot of gymnasts, and he's even representing Shunsuke. At this point I think he's better than Kawahara, Shunsuke, any of them. Kanno Histoshi, deserves to be called (IMO) Sasuke's Top Dog. (Yes I think come next tourney, he'll out do Nagano and Yuuji)

Kanno, king of the gymnasts. Kawahara who? Kawahara, king of the gymnasts. Kanno Who? As much as we'd all like to see Kawahara beat the First Stage, he can't be considered elite at all. The numbers don't lie, he's 0/7 on the First Stage while Kanno is 2/3.

Wasn't Nagano a wanna-be gymnast?
Also, Kokushikan University ftw.

Where did he fail the first time?
Edit: Nvm, Just looked it up. Jumping Spider.
Yeah, I'm considering Kanno as the new Shunsuke.

yes he was P.S. I can tell in chat a few of us blamed him for not enjoying Kanno's success so much; I was kinda surprised too...then a few days ago I remembered Kanno said (can't tell if it was in the Navi or in the tournament preview or something) that he felt a strong rivalry with the all-stars and this gave him even more motivation . Well, if someone told me that he considered me a rival when I never considered him as one, then I wouldn't really be happy of that... Nagano said he enjoys watching young athlethes, that it gives him inspiration, but not that he considers them as a threat or rivals. Don't think wrong of me..even if for some reason I don't see him achieving total victory, I think Kanno's got a good potential.

I'm pretty sure it's more of a friendly rivalry. Nagano feel slike he has to keep doing good to keep up with the young stars, and the young stars just want to prove they have what it takes.
