For those intersted in training for Sasuke or just want to get fit, there is a standardized way that we can all track our progress if we wanted to.
First-strech, obviously or you'll cramp out
Second- Set a stop watch to 2 minutes and do as many push ups you can do. You may rest in the leaning position (arms locked and butt and knees in the air) and record your total
3 min. rest
Third- Do the same things exept do sit-ups. Must have arms touching your own shoulderblades and may only rest in the up position. Mind you, FULL SIT UPS!!!
3 min. rest
Fourth- with no time limit, do as many pull-ups as posssible. Chin obviously has to go above the bar and must fully extend arms on the come down.
5 min. rest
Optional- do a 1 1/2 mile run and see your time.
This is just something we do in NavSpecWar and its fun to see where everyone is at. We also encourage each other and help with struggling scores.
Give it a try, it'll be good, I promise.
Ill start. these are my scores as of the last time I did it which was 1 week ago.
Push-ups- 78 Sit-ups- 79 Pull-ups- 11 1 1/2 mile run- 12:04
My mile was sabataged by ninjas as my gatorade was spiked with vomit poison...

I don't have a stop watch.. but I'll get my bro to time me with a watch or something.
Just for kicks, I ran a 8:55 1 1/2 mile today.
So I've got that time down, but am i supposed to do it after the work-out? lol >.>
By the way, gatorade isn't even that healthy for you, the electrolytes are almost non-existant and it is practically kool-aid besides that.
Still healthier than soda or anything like that.
Another fun fact, for my fitness tests in school we always did sit-ups listening to thsi stupid recording, but the maximum you were allowed to get was 75, and I never got below that. Now that I'm in waaya better shape I bet I could do more, and I usually wasn't even that tired by the 75 point.

No kiddin, you know what, i'm never drinking gatorade again.
By the way, that is one hell of a run my friend. you should do it at the end to simulate a "GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!" situation.

Ah, it's not thag reat of a time considering there is this kid who did 2 miles in 11:05...
my 2 mile time was 12:19, not even close...
if I trained for conditioning regularly I could do it but I havn't been running much.
Grnated i do have 2 hours of soccer practice every day which is running, but not long distances, and we focus on sprints if we do run a lot.
And while I have freaking bulging leg muscles, and a nice 6-pack that actually formed quite fast (Like in a month!) I still have next to no grip or upper body strength.
And definately no bicep strength, I couldn't even bench 3 reps of 80 pounds

You must not hold yourself to others standards. Especially kids cause we know they're invincible.
Don't worry man, I have practiced Go-Ju- Shoeri ryu karate for about 7 years and was in the same position you are in: Horse-like legs and an 8 -pack, but im sure you could push through that barrier.
Trust me man, not 3/4 of the human population can run as good as you so don't be modest with me! I'LL HAVE NONE OF IT!!!!!

By the way I challenge Scnoi and GTKLO and Rider to this! Whoever get's the overall higher score wins =]
Each pushup counts as 1, each sit up counts as 1, and each pull up counts as 2.
For our mile and a half run, we'll subtract the difference from our scores, and the person with the lower time has to subtract 1 point for every 5 seconds they lost by.
Sound good? =] if you accept, don't post your results, as it'd be unfair for me to know exactly what I'd have to get.
Get your scores, PM them to a reliable source, like Sessler fan, and when he get's them all he'll post the results.
Also, don't cheat yourself on any of these, no worms pushups, no halfway sit-ups, don't rest doing your sit-ups for like an hour either, and do full length pull-ups, also, be honest with your score, this is all for fun anyway and it's to help us improve, you're only hurting yourself by lying or playing unfair!

Now I play the waiting game to see if any of them except, this is quite exciting.
By the way, if any of you record it, you get an automatic 10-20 points.
I'll record mine (Hopefully) but I won't give myself the points because I know I can record it and it's unfair for those who can't.
And if you end up losing by those 10 points... well sorry, it's just for fun anyway =]

I'm in for this too, I just got to find a way to track my time and count properly. (I don't have the same setup Banzuke does for Muscle Gym)
Maybe I could make some kind of setup that a computer tracks the time and I have some kind of counter hitting the mouse with my chin (sort of like on Banzuke)

you kiddin'. you can do pushups and sit ups by a couch. Run to your local grocery store and find a frickin branch. just get a partner to count for you maybe.
And lets all assume everyone is being honest....

Well I'm just overthinking everything. I probably won't use elaborate setups and just basic tests. I might just video record myself (But I'm not going to share it to keep my identity secret though) and count with that.
And of Part 1. You mean real pushups and not those things they try on Banzuke, right? Or is that acceptable?

Or you could use a watch, lol, that'd be easy.
my phone has a timer, so I'll just use that.
By the way, find a place where you can do them all in a sucession.
If it's not possible get as close as you can.
Like go to a park, you can do your situps pushups and pull ups all there, and maybe they have a track and if they do figure out the length.
I have a park that's practically in my backyard, I'll do the pushups, pull ups and situps there, and then run the track which is (I think ) exactly half a mile long. It used to be labeled but it's not anymore, I'm pretty sure it was right, it's looks dangerously close to half a mile, so if it's not it's only off by a little bit, so I run that 1 and a half times.
We need to figure out a break time betweent he pullups and running. I'd prefer you'd do the running as soon as you can, if it's not possible state the reason why and all that, but I'll give like a maximum 5 minutes to rest. If you have to run to get to the track or wherever you're running, I'll give you 6 minutes from the time that you arrive there.
by the wya, my park has terrible places for pullups, so I'm not to sure about how well I'll do on those. And I hope the grass is cut, bleh.

Full pushups, banzuke pushups (Worm pushups) are not acceptable.
Your butt can't be 50 feet in the air, you have to get your arms to a 90 degree angle (i dont' care about hiting anything with your chin, I think that's stupid because sometimes I do them with my chin tucked in, 90 degree angle arms.
Must go all the way up and down to count.
Situps like yojimbo said, must be holding your shoulder blade you must become parallel with your legs. meaning go all the way up and don't rest for more than 3 seconds on those... I won't d/q you if you accidently take 4 seconds or anything, but don't be sitting there for 6 seconds over and over again.
Pullups of course arms fully extended and your chin must go over the bar, and no tilting your head backward, that would be considering cheating =p

By the way, anyone in the age range of 13-20 can take part in this, but the main competition will be between me rider scnoi and GTKLO if they all accept. I might be missing someone who I'd like to challenge, post if you're interested in joining!

I was just planning on using the space on my floor to do them and taking off the bag of my Punching Bag and hanging a bar on the chains and doing pull ups on that.

I thought that was optional. I might just do this all tomorrow instead of tonight, How will I know how far away a mile and a half is?

I thought that was optional. I might just do this all tomorrow instead of tonight, How will I know how far away a mile and a half is? Find a track, or measure out the distance. A mile is 1600 meters, get some kind of distance measures, even if it's 10 meters, lol, do that 240 times and it'll be 1 1/2 miles. i know HE said it was optional,a nd if you honestly tried your hardest finding a place to run and can't get anything close to you, you can skip it, but I'll have to subtract some points because it's not fair for the people who do it. (You probably would've lost more than that anyway, since I'm gonna be going fast on this ;] ) And Pj, you don't have to have it done by tonight or anything, I probably won't get mine done for 2-3 weeks, lol.
