One thing that's always kept me speculating was the origin of ANC. Sasuke came to G4 in October 2006- before Nagano's Total Victory. Of course, after that, the course was redesigned to be harder than ever.
My query is if G4 would have gone ahead with ANC had Nagano not achived total victory in 17 and 18. I believe it could be either/or.
Perhaps when Nagano beat the course, G4 learned from M9 that Sasuke was going to be completely different and wanted to start sending people, but they realised they couldn't organize something fast enough for 18.
I really don't know. What are your thoughts?

Maybe they wanted to keep an eye on how things were changing so they did that 18 special, well two of them, one with Zach Selwyn going around Japan and trying out the Rope Glider, and another with the Narrator guy going in depth with the whole process just to ease in their coverage. Maybe G4 also did all this to show the company they could be there and not mess with how they operate. At the same time they were also deciding on what they wanted to do to for 19 while also giving viewers a chance at seeing what the new course would look like on 18 so they can train for that redesigned course instead of the old one.

That's a good theory, and I agree with it up until the last sentence. But, I remember that Sasuke 18 was shown on G4 the weekend before Ninjafest and Sasuke 19.

Wow I didn't know that. Yeah, I didn't start watching Ninja Warrior until sometime just before 20.

It was way different for me when I first got into the show. I thought the G4 broadcasts were the best there was and I would Tivo them all the time and would get really excited when I saw Sasuke 4 Part 3 would air soon, it was like NW after school. Before I thought I was cool just by knowing the names of all competitors lol but now it's nice to know everything. I watched reruns for over a month and then Sasuke 18/19 sort of came at the same time, no way they were 6 months apart in America. Watching 19 could be summed up short, obstacles are cooler, both Americans fall early, this talk about Nagano out on the 1st stage, and then salmon ladder owns the last people. At the time I didn't realize how unique the outcome was (watching it more than the other broadcasts in recent months.)
Everything changed when I found theguy7121 and then this board.
