Its not as much Levi's time that makes me think stage 1 will change, as much as the fact 9 people made it to stage 2

Also to mention: Unless they want to change the course inside and out, I think there won't be any changes again, just some upgrades to things that were there before (Such as Log Grip. It had a small drop so that you can easily start the thing).

Removing arm rings is just stupid... it has been there for ages, and it have done its job killing people's arm strength. IMO, Swing ladder could stay since it killed some time on Lee Enchi. For others, it is just short obstacle, but it depends on who attacks it. It MIGHT stay. As of Stage 1, just because Levi crushed it doesn't mean it will have major changes. Other people beat it at a regular time. But the truth was that many people passed stage 1. I personally think pole maze should be removed, but Monster 9 will definately put it up there, as it killed some people's run/time. Removing arm rings IS stupid, but replacing it isn't. I wouldn't mind seeing a new first stage 3 obstacle, honestly arm rings are kinda cool, but they're gonna go eventually. Th only reason lee Enichi went slow ont he swing ladder was because... well did you see his run? He was WALKING, it didn't even look like he was trying. i think he forgot about the whole "timed course" thing because he took long on every single obstacle, so saying the swing ladder should stay because it slowed someone down that wasn't trying to go fast is stupid =p

Maybe the 80 second time limit made him not worried, I mean he took his time and made it to the Wall Lift, think about that. But I can see the Arm Rings going eventually when they think up something more long and tedius, remember how long the Rumbling Dice was until they added something harder. the Arm Rings isn't exactly as much of a energy drainer like the Rumbling Dice but it does take a bit more stregth.

Rumbling dice is 5x harder tan the arm rings, trust me on that one.
They don't even compae =p
But the first obstacle isnt' supposed to be incredibly hard, it should be easy but long soif you get stuck it drais your energy. And the arm rings provide a lot of opportunities to get stuck, personally I think it's a near perfect first obstacle to have. But it doesn't mean it's going to stay forever, at least 4 more tournaments though.

To me, Arm Rings right now is perfect. Sure that its not long and more drainer than Rumbling Dice. But there is one part in the middle where you need a whole lot of strength to pass Arm Rings or your energy will be drained.
Also, if Rumbling Dice was there, I do not think that anyone will have strength to pass 3rd Stage. (Unless Nagano rule comes into effect.)

Well that's why I think they took it out. Up to that point the farthest people were going was the Devil Swing. People were drained when they got there. The Rumbling Dice and the 6-bar Jumping Bars had a lot to do with that. That's why they made it easier, but still not easy at all.

Note to budding network executives: If you want to extend the life of a program that's steadily declining in the ratings, making it 4 hours long is probably not the best choice.
That being said, it was decent. I think the competitors finally had that "breakthrough" tournament, and it's probably going to be countered by new obstacles in March. (Having the same course for 18 months is bland, anyway) I like having 6-9 people clear Stage 1 and I hope the course is designed to keep the number in that range.
I've said my piece on Levi elsewhere, as I did on Olivia, but I want to reiterate the latter: She and Kevin are no different than the Japanese talento. They were there for laughs, get over it.
Stages 2 and 3 were pretty unremarkable except for two things: No one died on the Cliffhanger and Bunpei Shiratori looked like a 41-year-old man on a skateboard.

Bunpei Shiratori looked like a 41-year-old man on a skateboard. Right down to landing on his butt when he fell backwards
