Wonder if we'll get any inside scoop.

If anything, a few pictures of people with other people but they're not supposed to post any photos of the course or reveal the results.
How much control Monster 9 has over the internet I don't know but they've been very good about keeping the results under wraps over the years. Blogs and social networking sites are changing the game though.

Maybe not results, that's not gonna happen. But perhaps what the first stage looks like?
Also IIRC it's 2AM in Japan now so they're probably wrapped up with filming.

well, you don't know how long the stages took.
Most likely, yes, they are done.

Someone did take a photo of what is more than likely the Final Stage: ameblo.jp/fu--rin/archive1-200909.htmlHowever, a few blogs have mentioned that the competitors are not supposed to show (not sure if they could even take) photos of the course. Since the person who posted the photo is probably not one of the competitors, they aren't beholden to any non-disclosure agreements. If it was one of the workers (part time staff are usually hired just to put up and take down the course) and Monster 9/TBS find out, maybe they'll start making the non-talent sign agreements too in the future.

Looks like the dreaded Swinging Beams are back and a brand new Final Stage.
It looks like an alternating rock wall of increasing difficulty, but with no Pole Climb at the end (I think).

That seems about right. Wow, that's crazy.
I wonder why they axed the Net Climb/Pole Climb Final that was in 7?

First two panels are the same, next two have the same amount as the last two but the artifacts are angled differently, the last one has fewer and is more skewered than the others. My guess is return to 35.0 possibly 40.0 dare I say 45.0 seconds. Well this should be interesting, I feel Magic Wall isn't in this tournament, don't see it being in any other spot except last obstacle of third stage and they wouldnt have two rock climbing obstacles one after the other would they? I guess after the almost success of Miyake failing the final stage in 6, they decided to improve on the wall. I would make a joke about the pole, but the weather thread has so many that would be overkill. Maybe it's back as the escape pole like in 1-2? The biggest question of all would be "Where the hell's the button on the Final Stage?" Either they're doing a "Viking" approach (Celebrity Viking's final tower had the button right on top of the obstacle) or this: Look inside the badly drawn circle That small piece of block there could be the button. This just hyped me more for Kunoichi.

Woah yeah, no top of the tower. Note how the "Goal" is off to the side.

There was a modified Escape Ladder in 1 (different ladder and no hole to climb through on top.)

Ah, now I remember, no problem, I don't mind being corrected, especially when accuracy is needed.
Looking at the walls, it looks the best method to climb would've been to stop at second to last, grip the third row (fourth if tall enough) and fix yourself fast enough to climb. Best bet would be to skip some artifacts (probably the ones angled facing you) for the next two, while the last wall would be luck. I wouldn't hold it against them if M9 didn't gather competitors who were pro rock climbers, because we would have a new grand champion if that was the case lol. I would love to see the workers build that massive tower.

Seems as if I was tricked by the camera angle. Thanks for that Ube, though now I really wonder how they'll transfer well, and where's the button, because to climb the full amount of height only to potentially run/reach out a bit as well is brutal. EDIT: Waaaaiiiittt a minute. I may have been tricked into thinking that the silver mark was the button, but what about this? The circle is small, but it looks button-esque, or my eyes are playing tricks again

It looks like you really have to choreograph your movements on the Final Stage if you don't want to waste time on the transfers. I wonder if someone made it

Miyake would know how to get past that. Too bad she's gone. Now I can only wonder till I see the tournament on TV.

Hey, atleast we don't need to spend over a year trying to figure out what the final is... lol.
(I'm talking to you Sasuke)
The hardest part seems like transfering, the pattern looks simple, almost elementary, it's not really a rock wall, I mean.... there is a complete and obvious pattern to the holds. It's just, left right left right left right.
I like it though, seems like the hardest one so far besides the Konuichi 7 final stage which no one ever attempted.
