Okay we have the announcement for Kunoichi 8, but one of the main things on my mind, is what obstacles will stay or go. If there aiming for a Shin-Sasuke like feel then many things can be done to the course.
If were going for "Overhaul" then the Lilypads are #1 on the list of things to go, they may have done a great job of getting rid of joke competitors but they don't cause nearly as much damage as the Dancing Stones. Something new there (aka don't bring the dancing stones back to stage 1) yet with a increased difficulty will do the trick.
Log Jam-Flying Pillar combo is great no change needs to be made there, however I personally would love to see how supersheep's Log Circle would play out here, but nothing needs to be changed.
Balance Bridge could be replaced or use a modification of some sort. It's been there for 4 tournaments now, people have it down, and the most notable fail there in Kunoichi 7 was Narumi Kitagawa. It's time for a change in my mind. Put some sort of new balance bridge in there that gives it appeal or modify the obstacle to where it is increasingly more difficult.
Next Up is the good ole Enchu Nori (Japanese for Barrel Roll) it's always been one of those obstacles that demolishes a chuck of the field, but in Kunoichi 7 it didn't do that to much (mainly b/c half the field got knocked out b/c of the Log Jam-Flying Pillar combo) it should probably stay the same, but once again if your looking to change something here, increase the length of the obstacle and make it steeper.
Next we have the Yellow Posted Hop Rocket, this obstacle was a killer in Kunoichi 7, allowing only 4 to pass and causing some nasty wipe outs in the process. My only concern here is that the competitors learned the technique, and that it won't be seen as much of a threat as in Kunoichi 7. Two things could be done to make this obstacle harder. For one you could move the post back allowing a competitor to get a good bounce out of the one-foot they would use for the obstacle. The other thing i could see being done is allowing the competitor to jump a good distance to the landing pad, so that it isn't just a piece of cake. Not much really needs to be done here for Kunoichi 8 though.
Next up we have the Angle Run. This Obstacle caused no damage in the previous tourney as all four competitors cleared with ease. It has never been much of a threat, but with the difficulty of the previous course and it's new location it's not to much use anymore. I think it should be replaced with something more unique, maybe a triple angle run would work (considering most competitors almost collapse after part 2 of it) if you were going to replace it completely I think the Spinning Log would fit well there perhaps, or as I said before just replace it with something new.
Finally we have the Escape Ladder, it's always been a staple of Kunoichi and I believe it will continue to be. If we were going for a different look here use a net ladder the size of the escape ladder, and make it sway. That would shake things up tremendously, but I've always loved the Escape Ladder and I say that it should stay there.
The only other thing that is worth noting is TIME, all 4 that cleared the Hop Rocket cleared with the following times....
#80 Rie Komiya-CLEAR!, 13.5 seconds to spare
#91 Maho Tanaka-CLEAR!, 20.3 seconds to spare
#92 Chie Nishimura-CLEAR!, 6.9 seconds to spare
#100 Ayako Miyake-CLEAR!, 20.7 seconds to spare
Chie had the lowest time, and she could have easily cleared with 10+ seconds left. They need to cut off 5 maybe even 10 seconds off the clock. If they want to see a few time outs this tourney.
All and All, I know Kunoichi won't overhaul the course. They may change a few things for Ratings in such, but they need there stars there. Miyake not being there will hurt ratings already. There first priority is competitors, and I'm sure Americans would help. They won't consider changing anything but the Lilypads, Angle Run and Time, b/c if they change anything else well then 1-3 people clear and you see little of the course. Eventually people stop watching and then BAM!, your ratings are in the toilet. It wouldn't shock me to see them take things out and make the course easier, but if there gonna change/modify anything it's one of the 3 I listed.
Long Post so what does everyone think here?
