How do you think these people will do in Sasuke 21? Probables/Confirmed: Makoto Nagano Toshihiro Takeda Shingo Yamamoto Katsumi Yamada Kenji Takahashi (Delivery Man) Yuji Washimi (Motocross Guy) Shinji Kobayashi (Garbage Man) Minoru Kuramochi (The Octopus) Masami Harashima (Hang Glider Man) Yasuo Aoki (Sculptor) Koriki Choshu (World's Most Famous Gut) Takamasa Nagasaki Shunsuke Nagasaki Yoshiyuki Okuyama (Failed Stick Slider in 20) Kevin Pereira Olivia Munn Levi Meeuwenberg Brian Orosco Mark Witmer Luci "Steel" Romberg Daisuke Miyazaki Hiromichi Sato Wakky Lance Tarvend Masaki Nomura Kenjiro Ishimaru Takahashi Mitsuomi (Bouken Red from 20) Yuuji Urushihara (from BUG IN MIKI) The 8 Sasuke trial winners The 3 people that got a "golden ticket" in the latest Sasuke Maniac Naoki Iketani Bunpei Shiratori
Unlikely Possibles: Kazuhiko Akiyama Koji Yamada Kota Honma Jordan Jovtchev Lee Enchi (Taiwan)
That's all I could think of now, but how well do you think they will do?

I just read Daisuke Miyazaki's blog for 9/7/08, and it looks like he might have been somewhere else playing handball that day.
I think Levi has a good chance of achieving total victory, as they say.

I, for one, am going to be the pessimist and say the Levi does worse than last time. Brian might do better, and I hope Olivia wears a white T-shirt.

Unfortunately, as sls says, Daisuke Miyazaki wasn't there. I think. Maybe he had a match then just strolled in later in the day (he would've been like no.98 anyway)? Doesn't seem likely, but hey, you never know. I had some predictions, now I just have to remember what they were. EDIT: There's also a picture of Iketani in a Sasuke-related blog entry here. More strangeness.

Darn, he said he wanted to come back for Sasuke 21, since 21 is his number. Maybe he was there, maybe not, we'll see.

I'm not sure about everybody on that list, here are my current thoughts on stage one though:
Makoto Nagano - clears. He seems unstoppable on stage one unless there are big surprises, ie. the altered rope height on the Flying Chute in 19.
Katsumi Yamada - fails Half Pipe Attack. Not the most agile in the world, I think either part of this obstacle could give him problems.
Toshihiro Takeda - clears. He's due.
Shingo Yamamoto - clears. He's due as well, as long as he keeps focused there really isn't anything that should stop him.
Bunpei Shirtatori (if he's there) - times out. Just coming back from an injury, lacking training time, and he looked a little out of fitness back in 19 as well.
Kazuhiko Akiyama (probably won't be there) - fails Half Pipe Attack. Eyesight.
Shunsuke Nagasaki - clears. This guy was like some kind of unstoppable machine until that shock in 19. Expect revenge.
Takamasa Nagasaki - fails Warped Wall or times out. He's not good at that wall. He's probably trained for it but I still think he'll come up short.
Yuji Washimi - clears. One of two men to have beaten the new course twice, and now he's got an extra lesson in staying focused.
Kenji Takahashi - fails, but I don't know where. He seems to make little mistakes here and there. One of them will take him down.
Koji Yamada (if he's there) - fails Flying Chute. Not sure why. He barely got it last time, I think it'll take him out this time.
Shinji Kobayashi - fails Jumping Spider. I hope he clears it, but he didn't even come close last time, despite training for it on the exact same day.
Yoshiyuki Okuyama - clears. He's done it before, not great on the wall but quick enough to afford a couple of mistakes here and there.
Hiromichi Sato - fails Half Pipe Attack. Just a feeling, really. Either that, or he times out again.
Daisuke Miyazaki - probably not there, but if he was, I'd say Warped Wall stops him.
Takuya Kawahara (throwing him into the mix) - fails Flying Chute. Another hunch.
Levi Meeuwenberg - clears. No problem.
Brian Orosco - clears. Adaptability + experience = win.
Mark Witmer - clears. He'll stare down the course, it'll get intimidated and just make way for him to stroll through and press the button in record time.
Luci Romberg - fails Flying Chute. Yeah, I think she's demostrated that she can do very well, but I see her height maybe being a problem when she has to get to the net. Fails this or times out because of it.
I'm not really expecting that many people (9, if you lost count) to clear the first stage, but these are my specific thoughts on everyone.

I'm not going to give specifics, because these competitors are only human and anything can happen, but what I hope happens, in terms of number of people is:
5-7 make it to Second Stage, 4-5 to the Third, all of them to the Cliffhanger, and 1-2 past it, but no one finishing the Third Stage.

I'm too Idle to write all my predictions out again so I will just paste my predictions for sasuke 21 I made on the "other" forum.
Part One: How many people will pass each stage? (All Four)
Stage 1 - 5 Stage 2 - 4 Stage 3 - 0 Stage 4 - 0
Part Two: How far will the following people go? You want to guess which number obstacle the person will fail on. Stage 1: 1-8 (The Tarzan Swing and Net Climb will count as one), Stage 2: 9-14, Stage 3: 15-22, Final: 23 (Whole stage will count as an obstacle). If a person fails in between obstacles, the obstacle he/she is approaching will be the obstacle they failed on only if they completely clear the obstacle beforehand before falling/ timing out.
List of people to predict: Makoto Nagano - 20 - Ascending climb Toshihiro Takeda - 10 - salmon ladder Bunpei Shiratori - 6 (time up) - warped wall Shingo Yamamoto - 7 - flying chute Katsumi Yamada - 5 - halfpipe attack Kazuhiko Akiyama - 6 - warped wall Koji Yamada - 8 (time up) Shunsuke Nagasaki - 18 Cliff Hanger Kenji Takahashi (Delivery Man) - 7 flying chute Yuji Washimi (Motocross Guy) - 10 Salmon Ladder Paul Anthony Terek - 4- jumping spider Jordan Jovtchev - 7 - flyng chute Shinji Kobayashi (Garbage Man) - 5 halfpipe attack Minoru Kuramochi (The Octopus) - 1 whatever first obstacle is Masami Harashima (Hang Glider Man) - 1 whatever first obstacle is Yasuo Aoki (Sculptor) -1 - whatever first obstacle is Koriki Choshu (World's Most Famous Gut) - 2 - log grip Kota Honma - 2 - log grip Naoki Iketani - 6 - warped wall (time up) Takamasa Nagasaki - 8 (time up) Yoshiyuki Okuyama (Failed Stick Slider in 20) - 21 - spider flip Kevin Pereira - 2 - log grip Olivia Munn - 2 - log grip Levi Meeuwenberg - 18 - cliff hanger Brian Orosco - 8 (time up) Mark Witmer - 7 - flying chute Luci ?Steel? Romberg - 5 - halfpipe attack

Just looked at Miyazaki's blog - looks like he and three of his teammates were there. He could do okay on the warped wall; he's got a pretty good vertical leap, although the wall's also about getting your footing and your timing just right.

He's there along with the other guy that failed the Halfpipe Attack. The other two guys are new. If Daisuke can beat Stage 1, I know he'll do well on the Salmon Ladder as he's proven that at Muscle Park. I think he can do well.

Yeah, Miyazaki was there, and he was number 97. Also confirmed is, in Ube's words, Random Muscle Park Staff Guy.
I only predicted the first stage before, so continuing on with that... Makoto Nagano Toshihiro Takeda Shingo Yamamoto Yuji Washimi Shunsuke Nagasaki Yoshiyuki Okuyama Levi Meeuwenberg Brian Orosco Mark Witmer
If the second stage stays the same, I think all of those will clear, except for Shingo, who fails the Salmon Ladder
Third stage: Washimi fails Devil Steps Brian fails Cliff Hanger Mark fails Cliff Hanger Okuyama fails Cliff Hanger Takeda fails Cliff Hanger Nagano fails Cliff Hanger Levi fails Ascending Climb Shunsuke fails Final Ring
Those predictions aren't based on strength alone, of course.
General non-specific predictions about the tournament:
First Stage - At least 5 clear. At least 2 All Stars clear. At least 2 ANC clear. EDIT: One unknown clears.
Second Stage - Failures at Salmon Ladder, Stick Slider and Metal Spin. No one times out. At least 2/5 clear (because that's the highest fraction that fits all my other criteria, lol).
Third Stage - Someone beats the Cliff Hanger, and someone fails before it. No one finishes the stage.

So no Akiyama. There's also an unspecified Beijing gold medalist, another Beijing (non-gold) medalist and a Japanese representative at Beijing. We don't know who any of these people are, and it doesn't tell us whether Jordan Jovtchev (he didn't win a medal) was there or not.

Hey, pretty cool! I'm surprised to see that Iketani's going again though (but pleasantly so), because I figured like most 20th tournament competitors, he was there for a one-off appearance because prior to that he hadn't appeared since the 16th competition. I hope he makes it at least past the Jumping Spider. He just had no traction last time.
And I'm happy to see that Shiratori is coming back. I really hope his back is well.
Oh, and Takeda, Yamada and Yamamoto are all due. Especially Yamamoto - I never figured someone like him would fail the 1st Stage 3 times in a row....
