While I watched the All Star last night. I wish they had aired it sooner that is for darn sure.
I enjoyed the Skills competition more than the team it was like a Mini us vs the world but just two teams yawn with the new Ninja Team warrior and the Worlds that was a big who cares (imo). Now I love the skills competitions need more of that stuff it was quite fun to watch. The sonic shelf leap off was sweet and down right fun to watch; loved the salmon ladder competition and the warped wall was just freaking crazy sweet.
Personal opinion drop the team crap stick to the crazy skills competitions.

Teams what are they going to call themselves blue monkeys , white tigers, or red dragons? Sweet flash backs to the boot camp days. Ok Campbell was a Red Dragon one season Connealy can not remember but he was on White Tiger Levi was one Blue Monkey Patrick the young kid and I think Evan Dollar was a Blue Monkey

SBNation is kind of hit or miss I am part of the Spurs posters there it is pretty tame some sights are worse than others. Anyways I have no talent in the writing direction I will leave that up to the folks that are way better at articulating their thoughts to pen and paper. Good luck Etan

The qualifiers do get majorly TEDIOUS after a while. My issue with the qualifiers is they do the city first then you have to wait for all the rest to happen then they come back to the cut down from 30 to 15 like 4-6 weeks later. I would like to see them go to back to back weeks getting all of it out of the way before moving onto the next city. I would also love to see some of the speed come back from the old ninja warrior days when they ran to make the right to go to boot camp. If you know the truth I loved the old boot camp show but I am a sucker for watching the poor guys get punished by having to haul ropes or tires etc before competing against the other team in a competition. In fact way back then some of the guys that did the boot camp Evan Dollar, Brian Oscroe,Levi, Dave Campbell, Jake the one with the hair etc etc Anyways just my two cents on qualifying rounds

I do not care I enjoyed watching his run on stage three and I figured he would be one and done he is a rock climber and that is what he was really focused on you could tell.I admired his skill anf how fluid and easy he made some of stage three look.
Him being Mad at Geoff happens it is sad and that just makes him a petty person.
Anyways competes does not compete I am not going to get to upset about that decision; at the end of the day it is a show and a game show at that and it moves on the course is still here after several while know guys quit competing in the past the show did not come to it's knees it finds the next new face and moves on.

I really enjoyed the first show different dynamic and I am sure the course will change year to year. The speed part is nice it makes for mistakes even by really good anw competitors

I like Brian Arnold The 1 second thing did not bother me because he was not show boating but making a strategic decision which did not work out happens.
If the family is comfortable with him being a stay at home dad then great maybe his wife has the better job making more $$$ and him quitting and staying home maybe be cheaper on the budget than daycare etc.
More men are doing this than in the past so what ever on that front and with out knowing his personal life fully how do you know what he is contributing to society.

Among the group that I watch ANW/Sasuke with, we're huge fans of Backstream and the Tackle Box that have been added to Sasuke, because it worked some new muscles groups and tested different traits. Athletes have a pretty good idea of what to expect and train so specifically for it. Having the intensive lower body obstacles can really throw people off and show who trains above and beyond what the show requires. I'll spare names for spoilers sake, but the Tackle Box in Sasuke 31 tested the lower body like never before on Sasuke and that really threw off some of the competitors with typically good results. I hate the backstream now the tackle box I love

And thanks all! Here is how I feel about it. I was the first person to have a perfect season. I was first in stage 4 ( all this talk of Isaac getting to pick where he ran stage 4 is complete news to me, I have no idea if he did or didn't. I was shocked to hear that on the show) and he was much faster than me on 4, and wins it all. Kudos to him, he was amazingly strong all through Vegas and deserves it. Co champions, and I know that's how matt feels about it. I want to know how you hung on that final bar that was the coolest save ever you literally held on by your fingers. Great run by the way It amazes me that you and Isaac could climb a 75 foot rope in 30 seconds after completing stage 3 that had to be brutal even after a rest Love the runs congratulations on a historic run and I hope to see you competing again next year

Couple things that exec producer Kent Weed said in the Hollywood Reporter article that I thought were noteworthy: "We have a few surprises up our sleeve for next season" "We will have a woman finisher next year. We’ll have more women in Vegas. We'll have the first woman to finish Stage 1 next year." "I’d like to see Kacy come back and take over again." I still do not buy a women clearing stage 1 yet unless they dumb it down. More women in vegas means what 20 wild cards all for women or their own qualifying group ?

Fantastic news if more American ninjas come to compete in Japan. Inui's tweet technically says that he's gonna have a "Meeting with the producer about Sasuke we do the next year" - so I feel a positive vibe. Fingers crossed. Yeah. I asked and it's to specifically decide if they are going to do so. No decision has been made yet (.. thank you politics..) so keep fingers crossed! Btw for the record he himself has zero control over the organizing/funding/permission to create Sasuke. So he's hoping like the rest of us that the news is good. Then it would be cool if the 10 wild card spots on ANW where for Japan in the future or grant them 10 spots to come over and compete on the course. NBC could leverage that later in the America vs the world raitings

Either give all who complete it the million, OR, fi you ARE gonna do it the way it is, do a sliding scale, something like: Fastest: $1 million Second-fastest: $500K Third-fastest: $250K All others (if applicable): $100K I like that idea. That is not bad either yes they need to make sure that something is in place if this happens again

Both should get the million. That is all. BTW, with so many more finishers: Do you all think the course is easier, or are the contestants better, or both? The time limits were so lenient on stage 1 and 2 that timing out wasn't really a problem so people like Geoff and Isaac who can beat stage 3 were able to make it through easier Except those two guys moved with urgency the entire process even with less time not sure they would have been effected now cutting off 10-15 seconds on stage 1 would have whittle the stage 2 field down quite a bit the roulette wheel did the rest that obstacle slayed a lot of Ninjas last night I like it a lot but there is no room for error and it seems like if people get hung up in rope jungle it is over for them.

Well I got my wish I always wanted to see Issac on stage three I figured he would look real comfortable on that stage his grip strength is so crazy and he looks feather like when he climbs.
Congratulations to Britain I do not know how he held on by his finger tips on that fourth bar but it was awesome to watch.
I am glad both made it up the rope in 30 seconds that is a brutal rope climb 75 feet 30 seconds sweet.
The cylinders in stage two where brutal you had one shot on the first one and not much on the second.

Just watched this... Results were interesting.,. -Though this was the best Vegas stage 1 yet. Sonic Curve, Silk Slider and Coin Toss are are cool. - Just a little less fluff and you'll reach the perfect balance from tonight's episode NBC! - Kacy didn't surprise me. No way she was beating the propeller bar with her height. Honestly, she'd better not get as much screentime next season. She doesn't deserve it now, and all the "inspiration" and "first" being repeated over and over just gets grating. We get it she finished the city qualifier in 2014. You haven't done anything notable since, and arguably didnt even deserve a wildcard spot. But gotta give her tons of broadcast time because strong females get ratings! Give me a break... - Meagen on the other hand. She deserves all the screen time Kacy got. She is a better athlete that Kacy and a better representation of what women can do on the course. Just a little more endurance training and I think she could beat stage 1 next year, albeit with a tight time limit finish. Shame the wall beat her, but you could tell she was exhausted by then... - Next year, the wildcards need to be better allocated. Give 5 to women who ACTUALLY DESERVE IT, 4 to other strong competitors who just missed out and one to someone from a worthy cause (like the autism kid from this year). - Drew getting fast forwarded is complete BS, especially since he got the 4th fastest time. He is my favourite competitor and was an unfortuante victim of the mini female empowerment documentary that Kacy got... - They almost did it this year, but next year try to air all runs. - To lower the number of clears, lower the time limit to 2:15 I think you left out Jessie Graph as well she did qualify in the city finals and she made it to the Warped wall in stage 1 as well and did well the year before she only missed last year do to injury. I think the real issue with Megan and Graff on the warped wall was the short runway requires a lot more leg explosion than on the qualifying warped wall.

Kind of weird the jumping spider took down people that have had no problems with it in the pass Hall and Mcgrath where wow really.
Then the question with 38 finishers this year do you think they will shave about 10 seconds off the time next year plus obstacle change ? I hope they keep the sonic curve I really like the obstacle a lot.

I know I am reviving an old thread from last year on the subject. With the women doing so well in the regionals at least in the first part getting too the warped wall (and on top of it) and Graff this year and megan last year getting to the warped wall on stage 1. Then we also seen the women do better on the upper body obstacles in qualifying they could not do a pure Kunoichi from the ones I watched. I admit I have only watched a few of them in the last few years before the M8 thing happened.
If NBC ever decided they are going to do one. They will have to make a different approach than Kunoichi because how well some of the women have done in ANW the last 3-4 years on the upper body obstacles.
If NBC did start a female version I think they have to have add a lot more upper body obstacles than Kunoichi because of the success of the how well Kacy, Warnky, Megan, Graff and some others have done in ANW. They will also need to shorten some of the gaps on the upper body because women generally do not have the wing spans that the men posses so a shorter gap will still test them but be more in tune with their size. They also would need to reduce some of the trampolines jumps because a guy weighing a robust 155 to 175 compared to some of the women just breaking over a 100 lbs they just lack the mass sometimes to vault some of those jumps in ANW.

I think he was agreeing with you... Also if you want the people "on the bubble" then they would just make it top 16 or top 17 etc... So that is a dumb argument you don't make it then you don't make it try next year. Also how would you feel if you made it legitimately and the person that made a dumb mistake gets wild carded and you both finish and they beat you and you leave with nothing even though you were solid all the way through? (not saying that was your argument, just the general argument I keep hearing) Sorta using the Issac/Geoff arguments about Geoff hitting 6 buzzers and issac only hitting 5. So who is the real "winner" for the show it is simply time on the last course. In general you don't agree with someone when you call someone petty. Whatever argument/agreement there was just went out the window when the name calling starts which is why I said what I said. As for the emotions surrounding those left out in the casting process for the wildcards I only mentioned that this comes up every year ever since NBC came up with it. Seems the criteria changes every year and there is no real solution unless NBC radically changes things. Given their history, not only do I think they won't change how they pick wildcards, I doubt any change to it will change opinions for everyone. Some care about the wildcards and some vehemently don't. Just on that alone it's impossible to please both ends of the spectrum. It changes by what they think will help ratings (Aka Brent a couple years ago) that is all anyone has to understand. If you are a fan of the show you have to understand it is about $$$ with out the ratings we do not have a show. Ask any Sauske fan that lost the show when M8 went under.
