I had to post this here because it involves 22. I'm going to move it over the the General Sasuke forum when the time is appropriate, but yes everyone you read correctly, there is a new Sasuke game which is currently being developed. I am actually making this game and my goal is to release it some time in the next month or so, but due to school I can't give an exact date, only that barring some disaster, this will happen. What this will be is a Sasuke Simulator. It's not going to let you control the competitors or anything like that, but what it will do is allow you to pick who runs and provide play by play and commentary for their runs. It will be just like WATCHING Sasuke (in English of course), not playing it. I think that this setup will be a great thing for many people here who would then be able to watch as many tournaments as they want. There won't be graphics, but the play by play will tell everything that is happening I currently have a full competitor list, as well as working code for obstacles and timing. All that I have left to do is turn my text into real code and it's ready! (this is no small task, it will be thousands of lines, loading a player will be over 1000 lines itself!) Since this is game created by fans for fans, I feel it a good idea to get some input from everyone here. The competitor list is "probably" final, as soon as this is posted i'm going to start implimenting this feature. However, for the obstacle list I'd love some input from everyone to what you'd like to see. Currently I have specs for the 22 course, but that is an easy edit if you all would like something else. Feel free to suggest a different Sasuke course or combine things from different ones (ex. put the Skywalk in 22). Only request is do not ask for made up obstacles, while they may look great in your mind or in your drawings, no one else will know what they are. Please post your suggestions and questions here and I'll answer them as soon as I can. I'll post the competitor list and starting numbers on the next post, so you can have an idea who you're going to get to see! Feel free to tell me if you see any spelling mistakes. I hope you all dont have too many problems with it, I did the best I could with this. I tried to put them in a TBS order, not a skill order. That means Yamada is not the 3rd highest rated player. I'm not going to post the ratings, that would spark WAY too much of a debate, but they will be included in the final release, but I will tell you who has the highest overall rating. I'm sure you'll all be shocked to know its... #100 Makoto Nagano! Ok perhaps that wasn't such a secret, but it's the one thing I can say no one will debate. Enjoy! I'll be posted more previews as I get things done

wait so is it a simulator in which its like animated and we watch the runs or is it like the real thing(ex: I chose Rie Komiya, does that mean shes gonna fail the jumping spider when i play her run?) and btw, id like to see the sky walk in stage 2 instead of the dumb swing ladder.

this looks awesome. I'm a bit confused on this in whole, but everyone else pretty much asked my questions, so...... yeah. I don't really want to repeat them, I know how annoying that can get. sorry. (off topic, I know xD) still, I can't wait to try it

Honestly, from talking with supersheep, don't expect much from the graphics department if anything. Really though, that is not the point. The point will be to try different situations so in theory, you can "watch" a Sasuke tournament everyday. It will be a cool, realistic simulator into Sasuke.

This game sounds like B-Spec for Grand Turismo. It sounds like your a coach in its broadest sense. Well, more like a chance simulator. In otherwords, the game uses stats from sasuke tournaments to determine if they will win or lose. I'm sure you could change the strength of the competetor instuff also. I'm looking foward to this.

Ok I'll try to sum it up best I can. No there won't be graphics. Heres is an example of what you might see. Whats in quotes will be a window that pops up with a box you can type in, whats not in quotes is what will display on the screen. "Please Select Player" (you insert 90) "Please Select Stage" (you insert 1) Up next in Koji Yamada. He is a fireman with 3% body fat. His best accomplishments are getting to the 3rd stage 3 times and clearing stage 1 in Sasuke 19! Hopefully he has a good performance today. Here he goes on the Sextuple Steps. He clears with ease. "Would you like to rest?" (You say 2 seconds) Now the Circle Hammer, he swings around, and clears! "Would you like to rest?" (You say 0 seconds) *(It would show every obstacle but for the sake of space...) * He comes to the Slider Jump... Slider Jump!!!!!! NO!!!!!! "SPLASH" Basically you wont have physical control of the player, but I can put in some mental control, such as how long you rest, or how agressively you attack an obstacle. I'll probably include a feature so this can be turned off if you'd rather just watch and it will do this for you. As for realism, I think I did a very good job at programming the logic to where the players that should clear will clear much more often than those who shouldn't. This doesn't mean that occasionally Nagano or Takeda won't go out early or that an unknown doesn't have a good day. I programmed in varience, so that if a player is haveing a bad day, his ratings suffer, and vice verse. However, this does not mean that you're going to be seeing Yasuo Aoki or Olivia clearing anything, they have a permanent home underneath the Sextuple Steps. To answer the question about Rie Komiya. If you choose her, she could fail anywhere, theres even a small (microscopic) chance she could reach stage 4! Though this would be less than 1/100,000,000. She also might go out on the first obstacle, just like real life, anything can happen. As for Yamada and the Jumping Spider, I'll give you this much info, The way he's coded now if he's at full stength (aka not tired) he'll pass it 66.31% of the time. However, this is just an average, in the real world, by the time you got to the jumping spider, you'll be at least a little fatigued, and this will be programmed in there. Every obstacle will lower your stamina some depending on which one. Also consider that the ratings are based on all tournaments, not just the recent ones, so Yamada will get a boost from his strong early performances. As for updates on obstacles, I might give control of that, however that would involve sending out my code, which i'm a bit hesistant to do for obvious reasons. Plus you'd need a good understanding of how to code in java. However, the way i'm coding it, it will be VERY easy for me to change the course and players, so I'd plan on releasing many versions once I get the origainal working. I think I covered everything, sorry I did'nt get back earlier, been coding all night. Right now the game will allow you to select a player, but doesn't do anything other than that. My next step is to program in bios for the players. I would think you'd rather see the game talk about how wonderful Nagano is and talk about all his accomplishments rather than just say "You have chosen Makoto Nagano" when you press that 100! I'll keep you all posted, and feel free to keep sending questions or suggestions.

This thing looks beast, one final question on my part, u said no graphics, does that mean we wont see the visual, all we get is audio. (this may be a dumb question)

Yes that is correct, there wont be any visual, unfortunately I am not a graphics person a all. However I'll put in enough commentary for the game to say so that it wont be the same lines over and over. Heres some numbers you all might be interested in seeing. Approximate odds of completing Sasuke 21's 1st stage: Kenjiro Ishimaru: 7% Hiroyuki Asaoka: 22% Jordan Jovchev: 55% Shunsuke Nagasaki: 84% Makoto Nagano: 91% Keep in might this was Sasuke 21. One other thing I forgot to mention was the timing part. This is act in real time, for example, If it took 10 seconds for your player to climb the rope ladder, the next message regarding the completion will come in 10 seconds. So in essence, a 110 second 1st stage run should take roughly 110 seconds of real time. So I'll actually have a clock programmed in there. Can't you just imagine the agony of waiting a full minute before Nagano goes down the Gliding Ring again? and then have to wait another few seconds while he swings thre to find out if he made it? I can even program in untimely commercials! I might be nice and leave those out. I did some more work since my last post. The game now allows you to both select your player and stage.

What would be cool for me to see, and I'm sure others, would be how well competitors now would do in a past course. Like how would the 100 people who competed in Sasuke 22 do on the Sasuke 1 course? Or the Sasuke 8 course? I think that would be cool to see, and I think that would definitely be interesting.

I agree, thats something I definately plan to do in the future. Course changes are pretty easy I think. However I cannot use the 22 list since we dont have a full list. I plan to use the all-time list I have posted above for the most part with a few minor additions or subtractions. The competitor list was a huge project to make, it was nearly 43 pages, not something I want to be completely redoing too often!

Its Yuuji instead of Yuji. Two U's. Actually it doesn't matter. They're both acceptable Romanisations. Sounds interesting, and it looks like you're just as obsessive with this kind of stat-based thing as I am, lol. I'd be happy to beta-test it for you at some point.
