Just watched the first two episodes with subtitles, which covered the first army of challengers.
Lots of funny jokes and moments throughout. There were some meta jokes or commentary from Lord Ueda like unnecessary skits, having random storylines, and why people are moving on even though no one beat the challenge.
Roasting Yamada the whole time was LOL.
We saw other familiar faces like Boruneesan, and Not Jackie Chan, but they were only ever seen once.
The water stones seemed unfair. I don't mind that they're smaller, but the ones that sink are too unstable and sink too quickly.
I like that the spinning red things will push into the bottom, and that people are still allowed to try going under. The new Wipeout had so many sections with a mandatory jump just because the producers said so.
I wonder how the competitors would've done if the mushroom drop landing wasn't covered in slime. Yamada actually had good timing and a good angle for the landing.
I don't like that some of the cameras in the first episode had a strong haze or bloom to it.
It's incredible how big the lot actually is and seeing everything they're able to build on it.
These first two episodes have kept my attention more than any part of the new Wipeout ever did.

Watched episodes 3 and 4.
This army of challengers featured SASUKE elites, Spartan racers, pro wrestlers, and many other athletes.
Funny commentary at the start about arbitrary numbers and having roughly 100 players.
It was cool how they presented Morimoto's runs like it was Sasuke, with the TBS announcer, camera flyby, intros, and onscreen graphics.
I don't like the random strictness in the Daruma game but it was otherwise loaded with comedy.
The board rolling game might be too hard. Maybe move on if you can stop past the line, even though nobody did that either, and have some other lines that give random silly prizes.
"You make a great sad face."
"They're definitely gyarus."
We also got to see Battle Mode Chiitan.
I had so many laughs through this pair of episodes. It was just so fun to watch.

Watched episodes 5 and 6.
This one didn't get as many laughs from me but it was still enjoyable.
They repeated three games which is to be expected at this point.
I like how they changed up the presentation of the mushroom drop by making it a World Cup event and bringing in a TBS announcer.
It was funny when they kept pointing out and joking about how honest some competitors were in their post-run interviews.
We saw Yamada again, Kuro Tora Yamamoto, and Golden Bomber Yutaka. Also a large group of international fans.
Really liked how they showed Yamada and Yamamoto's runs for the spinning shapes game Sasuke style.
The callback joke about how Yamada only helps women up the walls.
Chiitan also returned with a turtle on their head.

Just finished the last two episodes.
This army was made of players from the first three armies.
Team Sasuke returned.
They modified some games and paired up others.
The surf circle had a transfer into a second circle.
The entire honeycomb maze spun. I think adding more chasers made it too hard, but it did seem like some chasers intentionally moved slower.
They seemed to go easier with the pushing stick on the board rolling game, but it was still unfair. I liked that all the hosts pointed out how unfair it was, with even Takeshi wondering if there should be some sort of bonus area.
The water stones went into the shaky bridge. It looked like they had fewer sinking stones.
Funny commentary about going fast and getting laughs from failing hard, and getting more airtime if you do either of those things instead of going slower.
The red spinning arms went into the fabric bridge with all the extending arms.
It's funny seeing how some competitors make it look so easy walking across the fabric bridge, while others make it seem like there's an earthquake happening.
The mud lottery seemed like filler just to get 30 players. It was funny when they turned on the guy checking their tickets for taking too long.
The high schooler has a lot of talent. I think we can expect to see him on Sasuke along with many others.
I don't know about the last game.
Overall the whole season was enjoyable. Definitely don't ignore the subtitles because there's lots of funny jokes and commentary. Having a proper dub could totally work, even if I ignore those kinds of live-action dubs. It didn't seem like there was anything too specific that would get lost.
I'm super pumped to see the next one if/when it happens.
Also, after the castle launches off like a rocket ship at the very end, as the camera pans up, you can see CG models of the games. At the bottom right is a game that's three big red balls. Might be one of the games we can expect in the future.

Prime Video UK uploaded a clip from their version. It was really boring. You lose a lot of the energy and charm when you can't hear what's going on at the course. You also miss out on the jokes and commentary when you lose the original subtitles. If I had to watch this version, it would end up as background noise.

India's version from 5 months ago. Seems a lot more watchable and energetic than the UK version.

Purely speculating here but I don't think we'll be see anything new this year since it looks like TBS is busy working on a new game show.
TBS and All3Media International have partnered to develop a new global format. No details about the show, only that it will be "a new twist on the physical gameshow." They'll unveil it to potential broadcasters at the MIPCOM trade show in October.
