Just thought I'd start the thread because they've officially confirmed the move to Melbourne now:

I'm really looking forward to this season. My only hope is that there's no Wingnuts.

They showed last year that they can be quite ambitious and I hope they keep it up (but maybe with a not quite so over-kill stage 2).

i really hope australia will change thing a bit and build a more identical course to ANW's national finals . Yes . A gigantic course instead of just a simple set up that didnt really add the tension

I think Australian Ninja Warrior has already somewhat surpassed the much older NWUK, honestly, their adoption of the obstacles like the Rail Runner that NWUK didn't, the women are significantly stronger.
Plus their Stage Two was something we'd never really seen before. Sasuke's Stage 2 is more centred on time; ANW's Stage 2 has long but very difficult and extreme obstacles; this was a hybrid of both and kept things interesting. It was definitely clearable, but the field wasn't developed yet, I'm excited to see how this plays out!

Is it weird I enjoyed this Stage 2 more than Sasuke's and ANW's?

Is it weird I enjoyed this Stage 2 more than Sasuke's and ANW's? To be Fair, I think I agree with you coz Sasuke's is completely stale and ANW's was a complete massacre with reruns. And I know this stage was a bit of a massacre too but in a lot of ANW spin-offs no-one reaches stage 3 and like DeAndre said the stage was completely different and the obstacle choices were interesting and not always the kind of obstacle you'd normally associate with stage 2. There was a real sense that with a more-developed field the stage would definitely be completable, unlike ANW where even with a really strong field only 2 people (1 of which was a rerun) completed.

Wingnut Alley provides the scale but getting a little stale in ANW recently; but the Wingnuts are just too awkward especially for Stage Two.

Season 3 has started filming and I've seen some pics of part of the course on Instagram: {Spoiler} Looks like they're using floating steps as first obstacle now. Butterfly wall is in 2nd. Might be wrong but think the tuning forks are 3rd obstacle (albeit with an almost flat surface).
Looks like rope jungle is back in stage 2, followed by I-beam gap, salmon ladder and unstable bridge with more obstacles after that.
They've also changed the design of a mountain to be more mountain shaped. Might add a few of these pictures to the thread if I can find them again.

The grand final starts filming tonight and finishes on Saturday.
The tuning forks seems to have been swapped out for Razor's Edge in the semi finals.

Found out today that there's an interesting set of rules about the obstacle I mentioned in the post above: {Spoiler} They have massively changed the mega wall rules from what was used on ANW. If a competitor chooses to go for the mega wall, they get 3 attempts, just like the normal wall, but cannot go back to the normal wall at all.

Lots of risk in that. Do you know if a cash prize is offered for the ones who make it up the wall?
