That's a VERY weird format change. Each heat is different, some are harder or more long-winded than others so comparing them is absolutely stupid. It is good though how they are finally guaranteeing people who cleared spots in the semis, plus there is an argument that some heats have much stronger competitors than others. I can kind of see why they reduced the number of finalists coz 30 last year meant not many full runs were shown, plus it made no difference to the overall result as all the clears last year were from top-fifteen competitors, but they are reducing the chance of getting a final stage attempt with the lower numbers. Anyway, with the final filming on Thursday and Friday, I'll 'predict' stage 1 (I'll be a bit ambitious and pick obstacles even if I know they will almost certainly not be there) and because I know all but the first 2 obstacles of stage 2, I'll say what I would have wanted stage 2 to be instead of predicting it. STAGE 1:Archer steps (better than floating steps) Propeller bar (they used it in Germany so why not, don't know why but I think they might go for tilting slider) Domino pipes (again, used it in Germany and better than log runner) Spider jump (bring it back!) Metal spin Warped wall Rolling log (pretty much my only realistic prediction on this stage) Crank it up Spider trap (would go for invisible ladder but it is too close to crank it up) STAGE 2:
Swing surfer Wingnuts Salmon ladder Captain's wheel Wall lift Curved body prop Cliff-hanger (version used on Germany series 2 and France series 3) Flying bar {Spoiler - click for actual stage 2 from obstacle 3 onwards} 3) Salmon ladder 4) Swinging spikes (awful choice) 5) Wall lift 6 onwards same as last year

The past two finals courses have just been too out there to predict...

Fun fact regarding this season:
Barclay Stockett from ANW has been one of the two main course testers this year, and has been at all of the filmings resetting stuff, while Jon Stewart from ANW also got to test one of the heats.

Without going into details, Stage 1 this year is roughly the same difficulty as last year, but with a much stronger field of competitors. Stage 3 is the same, but Stage 2 is now significally harder.

Stage 2 was WAY too easy last year - I'd say it actually got easier each year. And it's cool having some ANW competitors test the UK course especially someone as strong a competitor as Barclay.

Oh wow... lots of good today... but a lot of sketchy, SKETCHY details, including extremely important ones, that will NEVER make it to air.
That said, this final is a good one, and one that will look even better when aired.

I'm getting so excited even though it's probably not going to be until like March or April when we'll finally get to see it. Once it has finished airing I really want to find out the sketchy details but don't tell me until then coz I don't want any results spoiled.

Not sure if it's a first, but Ninja Warrior UK has started officially sponsoring "ninja parks" (basically a larger, more casual ninja gym with preset obstacles) around the country. It started with them just slapping the logo on an aquapark a few months ago, but now one has opened mimicking the obstacles of the show and the visual design of the set. Interested to see where this goes!

Yeah I saw that, certainly more ninja-like than the aqua park but at the end of the day guess it's just a profit making exercise: Potato gets money as it's NWUK branded and the companies get money coz more people visit coz of the NWUK brand.

Seems like it's going to be another April air date this year. Awesome. I'm super excited, as NWUK4 was arguably the best season of the show so far.

Awesome. I'm super excited, as NWUK4 was arguably the best season of the show so far. Arguably? Well, I also liked NWUK3 and thought it was a step in the right direction after NWUK2, so that's why I used "arguably". But I still consider NWUK4 to be the strongest by a wide margin.

I wasn't keen on NWUK3 coz only 5 or 6 contestants were invited back, the heats were pretty much just a repeat of NWUK2's, the semi was far too easy and the final stage 1 was mostly upper body obstacles after coin flip meaning the time limit was way to long so the runs were drastically cut. The only good things about the series were the return of Jonny Urzuly, the new aesthetics of the course and the results with someone finally reaching stage 3. Series 4 was better by a LOONNNGGGGGG way.

The aesthetics were good, the results improved, and the finale was a lot more thrilling than NWUK 2.

Air date for episode 1: April 13th, 6:30pm, itv Source? Multiple 😋 You'll be able to find quite a few sources with research, here's a couple that I found on Instagram a few minutes ago (both the article, Jacob and Dean state a 13th April air date): http://instagram.com/p/Bvv-Lf3gMZX http://instagram.com/p/BvynexsHOSL Lol even a Google search shows 13th air date now (even though I wouldn't call it reliable)
