Yes, you heard that right! Musou is the OFFICIAL successor to Proto Sasuke. Just like the OG version, Musou will run on a modified version of the Ninja Machine. Although very similar to the traditional Sasuke, Musou is a bit different. So, what's with the name Musou? Well, it is a Japanese word that translates to "unmatched" or "unrivaled". I got it from the Japanese title of Dynasty Warriors (Shin Sangokumuso). I thought this name fit well with what I want to do with the series. Essentially, this will be my envisioning of what Sasuke should be like right now. Consider this a project that came from my bitterness about the decline of real life Sasuke. Here are some of the key components of Musou:
-50 (rather than the usual 100) elite competitors take on the course, of all nationalities. That means no randos or joke competitors. Only those that are the best in the world. -For the first era of this competition, the four-stage format will remain. However, the stages' styles will slightly change (For example, Musou T1 Stage 2 is very in the style of ANW's long drainers). -Once somebody beats the course for the first time and becomes Grand Champion, the entire course will change dramatically. For example, there could be 5 stages, or even 3 or 2. Who knows? -Rather than taking place in a set location (e.g. Midoriyama Studios) every tournament, this is a TRAVELLING SHOW! Every tournament is in a unique location somewhere around the world. Stay tuned for more news!

I can confirm that this project is associated with Proto SASUKE/Ninja Machine and I will be assisting with this project. It's going to be interesting to be sure.

Hopefully Takeda, Shingo, or Makoto are on (It won't be SASUKE without any of the SASUKE All Stars)

So can we assume SMF challengers aren't going to be able to compete? 50 is a slim field

So can we assume SMF challengers aren't going to be able to compete? 50 is a slim field I think yes, because MUSOU is only for the best of the best (like Philip said),plus the lineup was already revealed,& no SMF users were in it (such as myself).

I'm new to this concept, so can someone kinda explain a bit more to me? Ninja Machine is a game I'm programming in Java that simulates Sasuke/Ninja Warrior results. Proto SASUKE was a show that ran from 2013 to 2016 that used the Ninja Machine engine on my own courses. We've always been interested in following up on it, and we tried a few times (albeit with spectacular failures), and ultimately I decided to focus on other projects. This is mainly Philip's project, albeit with my full support and using a modified version of my engine.

There are a few PROTO SASUKE tournaments still watchable on Vimeo. If need be I'm sure someone (including me) can link you a tournament or 2. I too was apart of the show as a competitor for a while. I had a good time.
