Are they reducing the number of competitors this season? If they used the same number per episode as last year not all teams will have the same number of representatives which wouldn't really be fair. It's just 12 per country this year. Wait but aren't there only 8 preliminary episodes this season? 9 total? With 9 countries 12 per doesn't add up

Wait.... how does that work? Wouldn't that only be 54 contestants? That'd be 6.75 contestants per episode....

There are 9 countries as opposed to 5 now (United States, Australia, United Kingdom, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Germany, France, Italy) and apparently the format changed a bit based on feedback from Season 1's airing. I don't know how that works out in the end but we don't have long to wait.

Also, what do you guys think of the course?

^You are right. And course looks sick! The new leadout from the coil crawl looks awesome, as does the obstacle that looks like the body prop on steroids and the sideways reverse fly!
Also I cannot wait for Brazil/SK's commentators to come back after a season long absence, as well as the return of the Italy/France rivalry!

Thanks for the list, but ugh. Remember that ANW specifically has in their NDA the provision prohibiting them from participating in competing shows..

Oh yeah, I know that - I'm just saying I like how Beastmaster has always been new faces for me (aside from Yuuji, who was obviously very cool to see). I know that seems shallow, but, hey, I like what I know

I know that seems shallow, but, hey, I like what I know Dave Broome knows that very well. He's careful also to not make UB an extension of ANW as well since they are not at all the same show. So even if ANW didn't have the provision I'm sure he wouldn't just hire everyone from ANW to fill his show.

Thanks, that's good to hear (and glad I'm not alone in not wanting the two shows to become one-and-the-same!).

Can't believe tomorrow is Ultimate Beastmaster 3. I'm so excited, I hope it is better than Season 1 and 2. And with more known ninjas it makes my watch more enjoyable

Wow, even obstacle swaps. And semi finals look like entirely different courses. This is a great season. And CM Punk is a good addition!

CM Punk makes a great host alongside Tiki. One of the main things I don't understand is why they decided to not have cumulative points (at least in the first three episodes). I love the changes to level 1, especially gearhead. The changes to level 2 are mixed for me, as pivot point and tail whip seem unfailable to me. I hate the new level three, they just changed it in season 2 and the new changes this season made it worse (hate the new coil crawl and prism strike, also no jump from treadmill??? Why???). What I would have done is replace half of hangman (right at the point thruster) with a smaller viper climb, as I did think the hangman was too long. All in all, My first impression of this season is two steps forward, one step back. I hope they can fix these things in seasons 4 or 5, as this season is the best yet.
