If they leave Stage 1 exactly how it is for 23, I bet we'd see double the amount of people clear stage 1
I think, with practice and timing, the stick slider will be easy to clear. But thats going by what I saw on an internet broadcast...

I agree. The Stick Slider doesn't look particularly hard.
I'd love to build one.
Hmmm...

Gone are the days of 10-12 competitors passing the 1st stage.

Besides, half of the people that failed, failed because of inexperience, at least thats how I look at it...

There's just no telling. Nobodies who have never even heard of Sasuke can fly through it like Levi did in 20 and great athletes like Nagano who have amazing track records can fall on the simplest obstacle.
It's just... it's random.

Oh yeah, I'm sure the slider jump won't be as hard next time. More people will pass it. It's like the Jump Hang, when it first came out everybody was pretty much falling to it, but after one or even two, possiby three, it was pretty much passable. But yeah, it can still be pretty random.

If you have speed going into it and the bar hits the end evenly, it should be easy enough, I think.
It raises this question, though: If you have the time (let's say Nagano with his 40 something seconds left), could you not hit the bottom, swing, then jump? I mean, if you can take your time... wouldn't that make it super easy?
And another thing. Since stage 2 is supposed to be about time (referencing my "if you have the time, take it" point above) and is way too easy as it is, the Stick Slider should be replaced with this. Think about it. Up, up, up the Salmon Ladder, over the top, onto the rails, down, down, down, BOOM! Jump! Ahh! He missed the net!
I mean, stage 2 is supposed to be short and hard and you're supposed to have to FLY! What better place to put the Slider Jump than right after the Salmon Ladder? It'll certainly make it more chaotic for competitors.
And because of the net and everything, we could remove that idiotic Swing Ladder.
I'm sorry. My mind just got rollin'.

I pondered the "swing before you jump" method on the Stick Slider. I think the pipe would roll backwards if you tried that because the slope isn't that steep.
I would love to see the Slider Jump (with the drops) come right after the Salmon Ladder.

I don't think the pipe would move. I thought it would on the Gliding Ring but low and behold, nowhere close.
