Does anyone know how many episodes there will be or whether College Madness will return? 36 teams makes for a strange season, unless College Madness returns as an 8 team tournament. This would leave 28 professional teams as there was in season 2. This could result in a 13 episode season with 11 pro and 2 college episodes. Considering the absolute ratings flop it was I'm just going to have to assume "No" is the answer to that lol Due in part to the lame duck status of the Esquire network.

I mean network was only part of the problem, yes Esquire Network was a huge flop in itself but TNW: College Madness was pulling some G4 level ratings, actually I forget the numbers but might have been worse lol

In other words they didn't show up anywhere which means they didn't even pull 100k viewers. It was an abysmal disaster. This is probably due to the fact that people thought it was part of Season 2 Ninja Warrior (and probably the reason why they waited to air Season 2) and the fact that many hated the college version since they didn't recognize anyone. Part of the mystique of TNW is rooting for your favorite teams based on ANW's line up. There wasn't that connection to them other than school pride and even then that was localized to each school but didn't translate to a national audience who frankly could care less.

Well, I personally loved College Madness, mainly thanks to an impossible-to-not-root-for MIT team. I hope they give it another chance, with a stable network home. Given all the uncertainty and lack of promotion last time, College Madness really didn't get a fair shot. Here's to a second chance, a fair shot this time, and hopefully also solid ratings this time.

Jake Murray announced on Facebook that the female competitor for Party Time would be Barclay Stockett. They should be extremely strong again this year.

Welp, that's even worse than G4, they at least got on the charts with their 0.2 ratings LOL

I didn't know it was that bad. I don't pay attention to the ratings threads. I'm watching, for whatever good that does. I didn't find the teams off putting, I don't follow college sports at all and the rivalries meant nothing to me. I enjoyed the competition and seeing new and mostly younger faces (Wisconsin). I thought the kids held their own. I also thought they edited the shows better, The ratio of competition to stories was much better that ANW and TNW. Well, I personally loved College Madness, mainly thanks to an impossible-to-not-root-for MIT team. I hope they give it another chance, with a stable network home. Agree whole heartedly.

I watch ratings because that is the benchmark used on whether anything gets an additional season, additional sponsors, additional money for the network. Ratings were abysmal and more importantly the reviews were worse. Everything from the lack of chemistry with the competitors (probably people expecting ANW people to actually be in it), to kids being younger than ANW allows to having a couple ANW ready guys (and some with ANW experience) which negated the reason why College madness was even made to problems with some of the reporting. Overall though most just didn't tune in to watch anywhere (including YouTube). I was one of them as I normally watch TNW but once I figured out they didn't fix the rules I just lost interest. I refused to watch Season 2 of the regular TNW for that reason but that's my own personal view but even so I could still care because I had some connection to them via the competitors from ANW. There was no such thing with College Madness and I wasn't a fan of Kacy's reporting either.
As for Season 3 of TNW given that they won't change the rules, there's no point in watching. It's infuriating to see and quite frankly I won't bother. It's a shame given that I liked Season 1.. sans the stupid rules.

This should be interesting, plus since I am in the LA area I'll probably go to it. I mean I went to College Madness last year and I enjoyed it.

Something funny I just thought, since TNW Season 2 was tapped before College Madness I wonder because they saw how many people fail the Ring of Fire they nerf it for the college version?

You know what would be funny, if Jamie Rahn gets the one competitor from Daytoyna Beach Bree Widener (the ninja that is a make up effect artist and looks like Harley Quinn) and whoever else he gets for his team and they call themselves Team Suicide Squid.
