This is also a thing that is happening. I have no word on the team competition but here's an unconfirmed rumor about the skills competition: The women will be involved in an eight-women single elimination Spider Climb race. This will be the only event for the women.

The endless Invisible Climb last year and every vs. The World/Japan comp until last year was all men and yet there being an all woman event this year is somehow just unacceptable? Right.

You hated the new women system right? This is a continuation of it. Having one women involved in every skill comp last year was a great opportunity for women to compete against men. Now it's women competing against women again, as if ANW doesn't think they have the skills to go up against the men. I can guarantee you that everyone else but you will hate this concept.

Except there was still an event last year where no women were featured. No one complained about it. It's an one-off exhibition event that doesn't matter to any important results regarding the Vegas Finals. All women events do not demean the rest of the sport, otherwise we need to have an awkward conversation with literally every women's league or division. Does Kunoichi demean Sasuke? Of course not. So why would a random Spider Climb competition somehow demean anything or imply a clear falsehood?
I actually don't mind the Top 5 women rule, because any woman that makes top 30 counts as part of it. Are there scenarios that will be very silly as a result? Yes, but my enjoyment of an entire show/sport is not contingent on that rule. ANW has more glaring logistical/philosophical problems to me than that.

The problem is that women aren't allowed to compete in any other skill challenges. That's why this new format is stupid. As a matter of fact, I don't mind the new women rules either. This level of seperate competition crosses the line, however.

Athlete vs course should be equal, but it honestly is a disservice to the women to have them compete against the men. It is like having clean athletes compete against people who are doping. Women do not produce even close to the same level of testosterone and are at a biological disadvantage.
I like putting all the women to compete against each other rather than watching them get beat by the "top" men every time. Skills challenge is very specific mostly determined by capacity of strength not technique (because the guys they have are soo good at that too).
I hate the new women rule and think it is a huge disservice to the women who legitimately made it to finals/vegas and believe in Ninja VS course not ninja VS ninja. When you have ninja vs ninja it should be separate genders to give good competition.

If it worked out like that, then it's fine but if they're just keeping people like Jessie Graff from attempting the Giant Pegboard, I'm not very impressed. And it's not like this is the only thing they've done - just this season they've basically made a separate competition for the women. It's the fact that women can only compete in this particular event that we don't like!

I think it's important to be pragmatic and in my opinion that means acknowledging that for the most part, the female competitors would not have a fair chance against the males. Some would and have proved it time and time again but in general the standard is statistically lower. That doesn't make the show sexist.
