www.tbs.co.jp/hot-jyouhou/201612121330.htmlNo word on any actual athletes appearing. Mandy Sekiguchi is back. Audrey's Kasuga (SASUKE 22 and 24) and Darvish Kenji are there too. Sounds like they are bringing in some Rio Olympics people for a (the?) Monster Box competition. Mori and Sano are there too.

Whoot! I'd like to see that. I am assuming this isn't the Sportsman #1 expansion right?
Man I haven't seen Audrey in anything Sasuke adjacent in a long time.. I'm surprised they can afford him..

More info on the Sports Danshi special: www.tbs.co.jp/hot-jyouhou/201612221100.htmlwww.tbs.co.jp/spodan/It's still not one hundred percent clear but it looks like at the very least it will be pro athletes taking on the SpoDan regulars in three main events: Power Wall, Monster Box and Shotgun Touch. It's still unclear whether this will be a full competition or just a challenge event. Oleg Verniaiev will be there as well as Denis Ablyazin, both Rio medalists in gymnastics.

It's pretty much what they said it would be: the Sports Danshi guy(s) taking on pro athletes. But it's unclear if the pro athletes are competing in all the events. There are not nearly enough celebs so they may insert certain pro athletes into particular events. mdpr.jp/news/detail/1648541If that is the case, I don't really like the addition of Kasuga, Tsujimoto and Darvish. Sekiguchi, Sano and Mori are past winners and Hirano is the first SpoDan competitor to do 22 boxes. Nomura's son finished second in the last show. They earned their places.

Seems Inui isn't doing this one either (He didn't do the most recent one) and when I asked him about it he didn't know. I'm disappointed as well if "this" was their nod at Pro Sportsman. I think they are missing the point of why he loved the original. /sigh That said.. looking at a post Mori posted.. he was there? P.S. Nomura is a friggin' GIANT..

lostinube.blogspot.jp/2017/01/sports-danshi-2017-new-years-special.htmlstorify.com/lostinube/sports-danshi-new-year-s-specialSo, this is what happened: They had a truncated version of Spodan which Mandy Sekiguchi won (it was bs - Darvish and Kasuga would never have reached the final if they had to do stuff like the Fence or the Monster Box). They then had a three special events that involved pro athletes. The Monster Box challenge was Mori, Sano, Hirano vs Ablayzin and Vernyayev which ended with Hirano tying the Monster Box record of 23 boxes. He tried to go for 24 but couldn't do it. Sano took on some pro athletes in a Shotgun Touch challenge. Sano set a Spodan record with 12m80cm but he is still below the celeb record of Kane's 13m10cm. A soccer player Kensuke Nagai tied the overall record of 13m60cm which was set by a baseball player, Norichika Aoki. The Power Wall challenge wasn't a tournament, just a random challenge between Spodan guys and pro athletes where the athletes were actually all beaten quickly which was a weird way to end the show.

Usually some links are found and linked here so we can download them as fast as possible. I don't expect that for the next few hours or even days.

Miomio version: www.miomio.tv/watch/cc303909/The audio goes weird on this video. Does anyone know anything about this channel? They said they streamed the show live. It's only been around for a week though. Also, they labeled the show as something completely different.

Sorry no I don't. Sometimes if the date is listed as earlier then it was scheduled at that time? Weird.
