AUGUST 2016 UPDATE: As applications were opened on July 8th for Ninja Warrior Netherlands, I've been emailing back and forth with them.
They initially wanted to film last week of september / first week october. A week later I got informed that they post poned filming to January 2017.
Why? No one knows. They won't say. My guess is they want to do a good job on preparations as they still haven't officially announced that they(SBS6) are going to take on this show. So between now and 2 months, they MUST announce it officially, as they the casting team will actively spread the word then, to find the best athletes in the Netherlands. (we have a lot of climbers, forerunners, cross fitters, obstacle course mud racers, spartans, martial arts, anything you can think of) Plus the one and only NW Fan: Me. Lol.
Will let you all know more as soon as they officially announce stuff and start the promotion... (heck, at least instead of declining my appearance on the show if filming was still in september, crushing my life dream, I can now fully recover from my broken ankle/torn ankle muscles, hopefully fully, because it's now in January. Let's see what happens, and if they even allow me on the show.... I really hope so!

Dutch Sasuke/ANW fan here! SBS6 has started running ads, and the show will start broadcasting this Thursday, March 9th. From the looks of it, the show seems to be a carbon copy of the UK version.
Also, first post on the forum after reading for 2+ years...

The first season finished airing a couple of weeks ago. {Results}8 out of the 15 finalists completed Stage 1 and only 2 reached the second part of Stage 2. dutchninjaperry made it to the Flying Bar in the second part of Stage 2 becoming the last man standing and winning the €10,000 prize. He went farther than anyone has in the European spin-offs to date.

Does anyone know where to find Perry's run? I have waited for someone to make it further than the cliffhanger in any of these spin offs

I believe it's Perry, Valentin Dubois of France, and Oliver Edelman of Germany that have made it to the Flying Bar.

Valentin Dubois got to the Flying Bar also, but Perry made it one rung farther. Oliver Edelmann went out on the Unstable Bridge. Here is a link to Perry's final run.

What I like about Ninja Warrior Netherlands is unlike the UK version of it.... there's no timer. The total time increases as soon as one finishes the course even in the final stages.
It would be great if ANW adopts this no timer idea.

UK basically got rid of their time limits in Series 3 by increasing them so much. Only one competitor timed out this year. The time limits in Denmark, France, Germany, and Italy were also long enough to only eliminate one person in each. With only 5 out of 107 competitors timing out in these five tournaments, they need to either lower the time limits (just not to the unbeatable UK Series 1 and 2 levels) or eliminate them. ANW on the other hand sets time limits that both come into play and are beatable.
