I just finished getting caught up on the past 6 months of ANW threads, and there's one thing I'm really confused about. The original post that started this thread could've been posted over in the official thread and all the discussion that followed here would've been contained there as well, but now we're split between two threads. Somehow, it looks like we're using this thread for the broadcast... Since this is starting Season 9, in a way. Is this potentially how the board will do things moving forward? I see this one has been made for ANW9, so would we migrate over to a separate "USA vs. The World 2018" discussion thread in the ANW10 section next year, or would we continue with the same thread and it either stays or it gets moved and/or renamed? And, this gets messy because while this is airing in 2017 and the thread is labeled 2017, the logo in the broadcast says 2016 since it's from 2016, so the next thread would be 2018 for 2017. Also, I could have sworn that before this thread was moved and merged, there was an entire page or two of discussion about the network or something, but that seems to have disappeared?

It's not your imagination. Thanks to NBC being deliberately late in announcing when the hell this competition was going to air.. there's been at least 5 posts asking when this was. This particular thread was merged with 3 others. TBH it should all go in the main big thread just like we did with Vegas and all others from last year. And yeah it's confusing.. though it's made possible because NBC always wants to tout these competitions as a precursor to the regular season.. which makes it a pain in butt for us who know it was filmed last year. LOL I'll report it to the mods and see if they can merge it with the main thread and move it back to the ANW8's board where it belongs.. even if NBC is airing it a year later.

I lost in the logical maze of this actually...

The rare double post merge. Thanks! Now everything is in one place and hopefully won't get confused with the current one that is taping in a couple weeks. LOL

Honestly, I don't know if I'm going to bother watch USA vs The World his year. I found last year's event to be boring and now that I know the results of what will probably be the biggest moment of the show, why bother watching?

Going to DVR it. Not worth sitting through the commercials.

An interesting article (contains a spoiler picture at the very top) about Sean McColl that talks about a traumatic event the family experienced when he was younger, his climbing career, ANW, and the Olympics.

Hearing through the grapevine that Jessie's now-spoiled Stage 2 run took 25 minutes.

I get saltier and saltier everytime they mention Latin America. Also, can't wait to watch Owen "The Racist Stuff" McKenzie.

Don't got the stuff anymore, do ya? Sorry I just hate this guy. Also, btw, stopping at the top of the wall and before the Flying Squirrel to take a rest does not count as "not giving up". ugh.
